Fact. Kobe haters where are you?
Kobe averaged 30 6 and 6 for the entire playoffs this year. On 47% shooting. Those aren’t getting carried numbers. Best player in the world at age 22.
This team was unbeatable.. 16-1 playoff run
YouGotJEWD 15-1
That's warriors,,, lakers are 15-1
I w
@@tanjiroushirogane690warriors are wack😂🤡🤡
@@rafaelmeza725went 16-1😂🤡🤡🤡🤡 that 2017 warriors squad would kill opponents you casual😂
As a 15 year old, I remember this 01 Laker squad was playing at a historic playoff level, and I loved every moment of it. This was one of my favorite wins during that playoff run. Young Duncan playing out of his mind, the Spurs desperately not trying to drop a 2nd game at home, Phil Jackson getting ejected, and the Lakers STILL fighting back to finally pull away at the end. After this game, i knew this team was on a special run.
2001.....Spurs were always a problem ...that year we pulled out the broom!
Prime Kobe was way better fun to watch than Lebron
yup. the intensity, the footwork, the fundamentals, the creativity, the speed, and the attitude. Crazy
Shaq said Kobe was the best player in the world in 2001 and he was right! And it stayed that way until about 2011 or 2012 FACTS.... Don't let these "analysts and experts" tell you otherwise!
Exactly.
Tell them, bec they be lying and revision history them fuckers in the media!
Kobe never was the best player any year he played
@@melvynsngltn27
Just that u wrote "never" just put u in that RETARDED Nick Wright bracket!
@@melvynsngltn27In 2009, Sporting News and TNT named Bryant the top NBA player of the 2000s (decade).
This is sporting news and TNT saying this but no, instead let's listen to "Melvyn" from CZcams comment section lmaooo. You a casual.
@differentsame9402 that's the year opinion Sporting News had Michael Jordan as athlete of the century back in 2000. People from ESPN & TNT had Duncan and the Spurs winning championships in both 2000 & 2001 and Duncan not Shaq as league MVP
Kobe should have been Finals MVP based on the totality of his 2001 Post Season performances.
No he shouldn't
@@melvynsngltn27yes he should
"he's giving oponents the business" great damn i love that duo , greatest duo in history better than mj and pippen, if they had been together till 08 they would've won like 8 ringz
They couldn't have been better than MJ and Pip if they only won 3 rings together and had the opportunity for more. Kobe and Shaq were some beasts, but I can't let you disrespect the GOAT and Pip, who dominated their era.
Number of championships here is irrelevant in this argument. The fact iis Pippen isn't anywhere near the level of player Kobe or Shaq was. It was mostly Jordan and his supporting cast whereas with these Lakers you know it was mainly about Kobe and Shaq and the supporting cast. At this time, Kobe and Shaq was the most dominant duo in the history of basketball. Even Danny Ainge said it was as if Jordan and Wilt teamed up.
Magic & Kareem??
Best duo than the triplets mj, pippen and that other dude, oh yeah rodman 😆😂🤣😅
I was at this game. A true tour de force and in my opinion kobe introduction to the mega star level.
WHAT 😯
U were there woooow!
How was the building and energy like excitement in there ?!
Oh man. It was at the Alamodome and it was sold out. Spurs were the 1 seed and lakers showed up and kicked our ass all over the court. To see the Phil jackson offense up close is a thing of beauty. That was a really special team.
Afro Kobe is the Goat on his own.
I say this ALL THE TIME!!!He was Terrorizing anybody who had a name,he made it his mission 2 let you know that were not on his level...Mission Accomplished💜💛
I swear Kobe is 1st and Shaq is 4th on MY NBA greatest players ALL Time list
Smart man💯
This was the best team in NBA history as far as playoffs and Championship wise and the only team that came close was the ‘96 Bulls but I give this team the edge because of Shaq!
Phil Jackson looked to confident walking off court
Look at them like take a picture,it would last longer, cause you want see y’all team no more after tonight 😂😂😂
Lol
Got one last good look at the Alamodome, lol.
It was funny when the announcers were mocking the Spurs fans celebrating him leaving.
RIP Kobe greatest memories a laker fan could want
Kobe averaged 33-7-7 on 51 % fg shooting, this is called me being carried? Shaq was clearly the most dominate player, but that shouldnt diminish the way Kobe played. He had to shoot a lot and score in the 4th b/c Shaq was a terrible FT shooter
@John Zada III he was in all 3 finals tho lol
you're just looking at stats if you watched the whole series you would know Shaq carried Kobe.
@John Zada III Kobe 33-7-7 on 51% shooting against d league caliber SG. who was Kobe facing in the west? the great Antonio Daniels? the legendary dereck Anderson? the HOFers jaren Jackson? how about vs kings? Doug Christie? really? that's great competition?
@John Zada III so you think 19 points by the 2nd scorer on the team is good? because people from your camp (the Kobetards) are always complaining that " poor Kobe won by himself in 2010 vs Celtics because gasol only averaged like 19 points" but yet you're saying 19 points is good. actually 19 points by Antonio Daniels just makes Kobe look weak on defense because Daniels only averaged 7 points for his career but yet vs Kobe he averaged 19🤣🤣🤣🤣. and again going your camps logic Terry porter was pass his prime. how many points did Doug Christie average? Kobe got to relax on defense against Christie.
Shaq went up against the twin towers while carrying Kobe.
@John Zada III actually if your IQ wasn't so low you would know that that's the Kobetards logic. logic from your camp. you guys were the one's complaining that gasol only averaged 19 but now you're saying 19 by Daniels is great lol.
“They’ll be alright without Phil.”
-Danny Ainge
You got that right!
Phil Jackson with that cool ass walk out of the game 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Kobe TORCHED that dude!!
I dont recall the last team swept spurs like this lakers 😳 this 2001 lakers year is superb i will take this KB and Shaq over any teams in nba history! This Kb version here is on par with MJ any version and he has more skills with youth
Different animal... Same beast...
Man Kobe was unreal in this playoff run. Team chemistry was perfect and Shaq was still unstoppable once he got the ball deep enough in the post.
damn I forgot they swept the Spurs lmaoooo
mexia23 they swept every team except 76ers
@@stephcurrytheg.o.a.t Lakers were rusty in game 1 vs 76ers after such a long layoff.
Jordan + Pippen = Kobe
Lakers lost 1 game this postseason run and that’s only because A.I. went off in game 1 of the finals. Besides that lucky game, they would’ve been the first team to go undefeated through the playoffs. Insane how close they were.
Im not sure what game Danny Ainge was watching but Antonio Daniels was getting SMOKED EVERY SINGLE TIME. 😅
Shaq the big bro & Kobe the little bro, best 1-2 punch 🥊
10:46 For all the nerds who say Shaq carried Kobe, listen to the man himself
"Greatness is Greedy"! I LOVE this statement by Doug Collins regarding Kobe's an one when Danny Ferry fouled him during this series.
Doug really understood the greatness of Kobe from the get-go.
The Spurs didn't respect LeBron jumpshots Kobe torched with jumpshots
He also had Shaq and Horace Grant. Who did LeBron have as good as Shaq again
I love when people talk about points or field goal percentages for today compared to this era. How would guys like luka, lebron, curry, kyrie, giannis, dame, harden, russ go at a defense like this spurs defense and dominate like Kobe did. Thats 2 elite 7 foot defensive bigs on 1 team, and Kobe is going to the paint and finishing any way he wants on them.
LMBO at 1:04! Danny Ainge saying Antonio Daniels was doing a good job on Kobe. Daniels was hoping he was back at Bowling Green after this series.
Joel Villarreal Yeah, guess he did a better job than 60 year old Terry Porter, who definitely had no chance of stopping Kobe. Daniels had a pretty decent career in the NBA.
Wow Duncan with 40 points!
"kobe isn't clutch he missed the most game winners" yet when his team was up 4 at 8:32 and he had the ball, he hit the dagger 3 to spread the lead to 7. Look at the spurs players. Kobe man
Phil planned this ejection, he just wanted to go and smoke that good reefa in the locker room
theirs no way they wanted to win that game leaving kobe open for 3
8:36 priceless
These highlights are dope af. Frobe gang
Bean man that dude was tuff!
Kobe closed The Alamo Dome.
Spurs were leading. Where's the highlights of Shaq's pretty good defense on Duncan in the second half people choose to ignore

Dude this is Kobe highlights from Game 2 and not any Diesel highlights but can search 🔍 for it urself!
@@Mercurial.I saw the entire series.
Kobe exhibited leadership and great poise in an intense environment after his coach Phil Jackson got ejected.
At 2:41 they didn’t change the score from Kobe
You can Guard Lebron 1 on 1 the spurs got a l l 5 teamates chasing Kobe but Lebron is suppose to Be better really???
TNT's final weeks using the iconic 1995-2001 yellow oval logo.
Love that Phil Jackson stare down 😆😅
can u get kobe highlights vs kings game 2 when he had 27 from 2001
StrictlyKobes I haven't found that game anywhere but if I do I'll definitely have it up.
that game is on my dvr lool
Shaq basically retired David Robinson this series, only Robinson wasn’t ready to retire (played two more seasons).
The Spurs got destroyed for going under screens against Kobe
Phil Jackson had such swagger walking off at 4:40
Even Shaq admitted the best player in the world
Spurs looked dejected after this one
tubenachos After losing this game, the Spurs went on to get thrashed in LA by 39 and 29 Points, so yeah, the Lakers were REALLY pissed off about getting swept by them in 1999
2001 LOS ANGELES LAKERS IS THE GREATEST TEAM IN NBA HISTORY!!! IF LAKERS HAD JR RIDER INSTEAD OF TYRON LUE ON THE PLAYOFFS ROSTER. THE 2001 LAKERS WOULD'VE NEVER LOST A SINGLE GAME & THE LAKERS WOULD'VE WENT UNDEFEATED IN THE 2001 NBA PLAYOFFS & THE 2001 NBA FINALS. THE 2001 NBA WORLD CHAMPIONS LOS ANGELES LAKERS WOULD SIMPLY DESTROY THE 2017 NBA WORLD CHAMPIONS GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS WITH SPLASH BROTHERS, KD, DRAYMOND GREEN, &, ANDRE IGODOULA
Phil was the boss 😎😎😎
Duncan and Robinson was extra soft this series
They soft as hell
SPURS DRAFTED GINOBILI IN 1999 AND THEY SHOULD'VE STARTED HIM AROUND THIS TIME. BUT THE SPURS ARE BEST FOR TAKING LONG ON GETTING THEIR DRAFTED PLAYERS STARTED.
No. 8 is better than No. 24
No. 24 became smarter on the court along with the skill so I’d give the edge to that Kobe but no doubt No. 8 was a beast athletic and was elite on both sides of the rock
8 was hungrier and more athletic, but he was also impatient and selfish at times...24 was more polished, perfected his midrange game and was a better teammate and leader
I've always felt there was a bit of a difference, so going back to watch everything, I actually agree, for a few reasons.
@@SuperWizzle85 24 was a better leader too
@@garthyahudahandrews8504he was never a leader
Who’s watching this what Kobe has done. R.i.p Black Mamba I miss you so much. Love you brother.
This version of Kobe was unfuckin stoppable 🔥 🔥
