Got me one today! Your the first channel I went to for reviews, you nailed it. Love your work! Gonna have some fun torching some wood soon. Keep up the videos please you got good stuff!
You’ll dig it!
Cheers
I just saw this video and went to the website for The Restorer. I need this like NOW!!! Thanks for showing such a freaking awesome tool.
You will totally dig it my man!
Cheers
I definitely need one of these eventually, I'm enjoying getting used to the Nyalox brush drill bits just for bringing out different variations of the lights and mid tones in specific areas of a piece , but the restorer undoubtedly would be a welcome addition for many a burnt piece of wood in future projects due to its speed and versatility with those different wheel types . I like my orbit sanders but on pallet pieces this thing would smooth it out 10 times faster .
It's a definite beast!
Thank you so much for being so interesting and informative!!!!!!!! I am a beginner in the world of wood and have learned so much from you. YOU ROCK🤘🤘
Thanks, Janella!
Cheers
That THING is BADASS!!💯🤯
I may have to get one asap!
Another great video🤠👍
You'll dig it the most!
Cheers
I got this tool a few months ago but never really put it to the true test until a week ago. Restoring a large kitchen table using my restorer and it has been amazing.
I love it!
Cheers
Great tool for the price! Keep up the great work as the goal is for us to continue to inspire others to build something awesome! 👍🏼
It's pretty awesome. You'll dig it.
Chers
I know you are taking a break just letting you know my restorer arrives tomorrow and I anxious to give it a go. Thanks for the review.
You'll dig it the most, Larry!
Cheers
I came looking for reviews on the Restorer after seeing it on another video & was thrilled to see you had already done one! New subscriber and loving your work! I’m working on installing exposed beams in my kitchen based on what I’ve seen you do with shou sugi ban! Thank you!!
The tool looks like it is taking off a lot of the char & leveling out the grooves, so I’m afraid it’s going to do more than what I’m wanting. Thoughts?
The nylon brush I'm using (purchased separately) removes the char and keeps the texture.

Hi man, great content!! Which wheel do you use for removing chark for shou sugi ban? Nylon 80 grid or stainlees steal? Other... ? Thanks
Thanks!
I use the 80 grit nylon brush.
Cheers
Mine just arrived last night ... can’t wait to try it out today.
You'll totally dig it!
Cheers
Man... I've been trying to finish a barn door with a cordless drill and those nylon brush heads you recommended a while back. I'm able to get through about a foot of the door at a time without having to recharge the drill batteries. Borrowed a cordless drill from my neighbor and had to order new brush heads because I'd worn the others out.
I just went ahead and bought one of these and a nylon brush to go with it. Hoping to have this door finished by this weekend.
You'll love it. Works awesome!!
Ok, this thing is LEGIT. I bought one immediately after seeing this video. It came in on Friday. I finished the first side of my barn door Friday with the brush I had left and the drill. That side alone took me three afternoons, and two brushes to finish. I've got the restorer now, and was just able to start the second side of the barn door today, and I'm about 3/4 done with that side already.
Do you recommend using the rust/paint remover vs the nylon drum to remove the char from the wood?
Hey Bill! I don't. The rust remover is a lot harder than the nylon brushes. I feel like they're more forgiving!
Cheers
You're the man. Coupon applied and order received.
Awesome! You'll love it!!
Cheers
“Who’s kitty litter did I just shit in?” I took your advice back when you were using a drill and extension with Nylox brushes….and now….I’ll take your advice with this beast! Just ordered! Thanks for the discount code!! 🔥
LOL
And Doug, you'll dig it. Guaranteed!
Cheers
Just purchased the Summit Racing version...$99 w/ one heavy duty roller. $28 and up for additional grits. Can't wait to use it on a sliding barn door, sofa bar table, and dining room table. Shou Shugi Ban & BDB fan 4life.
You will dig it!
I LOVE that thang!!
Cheers
Almost reminds me of a belt sander. If you’re stripping wood does it leave an uneven surface? Thanks. 🤝
There is a learning curve, but once you get your pressure down, its pretty even.
Cheers
Definitely picking one of these monsters up! I hope being an affiliate puts a few bucks in your pocket as well man.
It sure does. And you'll dig it the most!
Cheers
I'm probably going to buy this after seeing this video. I got into shou sugi ban from watching & subscribing to you, thanks for that! I see you listed a 60 grit & an 80 grit nylon brush in your demonstration, but I can't find the 60 grit one on the website. Do they still sell it? Also, was it the 60 or 80 grit nylon brush that you used for the shou sugi ban?
The 60 and 80 grit sandpaper comes with the tool. The nylon brush is a ala carte purchase. I picked up the 80 grit nylon brush!
Cheers
@@BuildDadBuild Thanks very much! Cheers!
@@jesseherrin3253 Sure thing!
Which brush gave you the smoothest finish and removes the weathered layer?
69 grit
Craftsman had a version they recently discontinued, and it cost more than this one.
For the price, this tool is excellent.
I agree. It really gets the job done.
Cheers
Your channel is awesome 🇺🇸
Thanks, Matt!
Cheers
Got the tool. Its unbelievable. Showed to my neighbor. Now she wants one.
What about dust removing while doing shou sugi ban?
I don't have a problem with caffeine and coffee I have a problem without it😂
Are they Restorer brushes compatible with the Porter Cable version?
Yes. That's actually the same blueprint for that model.
Cheers
@@BuildDadBuild awesome. thanks. Salud!!🥃
You made me laugh with video.. Im. Starting my humble project to get some. Ideas out with wood and my creativity but not money to buy those amazing tools to carve. Iam in my 60,s now.. Willing to explore my deaigns before dying. SENDING YOU HUGS FROM. COLOMBIA.
Thank you, Denisse!
Cheers
Just bought one
Awesome!! You'll love it.
How long does the 80 grit brush last?
I've had it for several months and it still looks like it's got a lot of miles on it.
Cheeers
Waooo awesome
Love that thing!
Cheers
Did you use nylon or wire brush to remove the finish from dresser
I used multiple brushes. Not sure which you are referring to. The furniture restorer brush worked the best.
@@BuildDadBuild like the wheels for the restorer tool which one takes the finish off the best
@@BeefPiston24 there's one that is specific to paint and rust removal. That one worked pretty good. But I just got some flap disc brushes for it that look like they'll be better for edges and curves.
Cheers
@@BuildDadBuild sorry last question hahah where did you get the flap disc brushes from
Unfortunately, the wheels and accessories are so insanely expensive 40$ for 15 mins…. Of run time with the only style brush… the nylon… the only reason he probably stopped sanding it half way through it’s because the wheel was already done.
Haven’t changed that wheel yet…
@@BuildDadBuild the nylon ones
That’s what I’m talking about. I’ve been using the same nylon wheel for years.
Hey Willie Nelson, you got a haircut?
Well you sold me on one
Is this company going under, or are they looking for a new manufacturer? Everything at the site says "Sold Out."
see a lot of things in stock.
@@BuildDadBuild , thanks. I'll give it another try.
Is anyone else only getting 1% off with the code?
You got this squared, right?
@@BuildDadBuild I worked it out with the shop and was able to get the discount.
I am sure this is a great tool . I just want to know how your wife feels about it being between her and your other tool?
LOL. I keep asking, but she doesn't respond.
Cheers
Your voice sounds like quintin tarantino.
