My daughter convinced her employer to contact our towns school administrators about taking a hand sanitizer donation versus them throwing it out. They were overjoyed to receive it and divided in-between all the schools in our town. The teachers were most appreciative, as it saved them from having to use their own money if supply was low. Win win.

My dad got bottles of sanitizer the other day for a dime a bottle. Expiration date was this month. Store had hundreds of cases. Bet it sat in the ocean on a ship and expired.
Nope. it still works exactly the same.
Alcohol doesn’t expire.
May not expire but definitely has an expiration date. That's usually why you'd find it so cheap or in the dumpster!

I think she would've gotten in trouble for doing that. Once she puts it in the dumpster she has done her job. Once she leaves she has nothing to do with what happens.

Be sure to check the hand sanitizer against the recall list. I’ve gotten a bunch that had the wrong type of alcohol, which is dangerous.

Ha i thought it was alcohol too. What’s even more interesting is it clearly has a fire symbol on it and they’re throwing it into a dumpster when it’s 100° out.
That could very well be a violation.
I too was going to mention schools with all that hand sanitizer! Many/ most of the schools in this area have required students to bring a bottle of hand sanitizer to school in September and again upon returning from Christmas break for at least 2 decades. When students don't or can't bring it, all too often the classroom supply and materials budget or the teacher's personal money gets tapped. Community centers, libraries, sliding fee medical offices, and even places like the two Y's would welcome hand sanitizer in this area.
If covid is on the rise again, WHY are they throwing away sanitizer? Why not donate it to schools, hospitals, libraries, etc????? That is mind blowing!
Hospitals cannot use that. It has to be very high grade.
You might have found out already, but some sanitizer was recalled because it didnt contain enough alcohol.
I'd have still kept it and mixed it with more alcohol.
In my area all the grocery stores, Aldi included, donate all their refuse to city shelters, women's safe homes ect. The shelters pickup on scheduled days. Really good system.

I would have donated the hand sanitizer to a hospital like St.Jude,a local zoo,animal shelter and or homeless shelter. You are doing a good job.

My husband gets massive amounts of alcohol, peroxide , and hand sanitizer. I use it in my wash when I wash the dog blankets, or some towels that are musty smelling. Works great.

It must of been hard for daddy to leave some behind as we all know he likes to try and save as much as he can. I would of went back and got the rest to donate to all the different shelters in the area. That was one great haul and least the Aldi worker didn't tell him to leave she was a love lady. Yeah he found cat food for all your kitties. Love watching your videos. Amy would you be able to give some of the hand sanitiser to the girls school. What if it was ice cream instead of alcohol I'm pretty sure daddy would of been in his happy place🤣

Must be an American thing as in Germany where ALDI comes from it DOESN'T happen !!
There is a section where they put those foods that are close to expiring and you get them cheaper, same thing at LIDL.
And there are sections for reduced non-food items, too !!

A lot of hand sanitizer is still out there that contains methanol and proponal, which are toxic. If you find large quantities like that, always check the ingredients!

Amy have you ever thought about dehydrating some of the vegetables that are more than you can store in your freezer? Same question regarding fruit? Did you ever find out about making powdered eggs?
You can dehydrate cooked scrambled eggs. Raw eggs need freeze dryer to make powdered eggs. You can freeze raw eggs, pour eggs into I’ve cube tray or muffin tin. Once frozen, you can remove from tray and put in baggy

Definitely put a box or two of the hand sanitizer in the prepper pantry. If nothing else it can be used as fuel to cook or help light a fire.
Also ok for first aid in a pinch
I gotta say I LOVED the thunder sounds in the background. I live in Miami so it's hurricane season for us. Don't love hurricanes but do love thunder storms. Lol.

Frugal Daddy did good. He saved the landfill of 30 CASES of explosive hand sanitizers OR starting a fire in the Aldi dumpster. Imagine all the other Aldi store's dumpsters across the USA full of this product. Sad. I wonder if the Fire Department should be notified to be prepared. Humm.

Maybe the hand sanitizer is expired or expiring soon. Typically, the industry standard for when hand sanitizer expires is 2 to 3 years. While not dangerous to use hand sanitizer after its expiration date, it may be less effective or not effective at all. Kind of strange that a couple of years ago it was hard to find this stuff, people panicked, over made the stuff, and now some places can't seem to give it away.

Working at the restaurant supply store has uped my prep game. I get info about what isn't available weeks before you do usually. Honestly we are shocked that people still come in asking for Sriracha lolol what planet do you live on that you don't know it's a no go until mid October!

Amy I just squeezed 10 limes yesterday and frozen the juice in ice trays then I will bag it. I've had to many limes go bad on me in the past.
You know what's sad that there are people that really need the foods the stores through out...They could give to food pantries..Walmart, koger& Foodlion contribute to our local / surrounding counties....That helps out Feedmore too..

Just think a year or so ago we couldn’t find sanitizer anywhere and when you did find some the cost was out the roof! I stocked up and even bought ingredients to make our own. FMOMMY you are definitely prepared for monkeypox, smallpox, Covid and any other newfangled diseases coming our way. I use sanitizer to clean with. As always love ya.

They say you can juice lemons and limes and pour them into ice cube trays and freeze them, that way they don't go bad and you have to toss them.
