Todays Date: Feb 28th, 2021 - I saw two of the first concerts of this tour. One in San Diego, California and the other, Berkeley CA. For all the Zappaheads, Napolean Murphy Brock was in the band from the beginning then, from an interview I read by Bobby Martin, Napolean and the other singers commenced to push professional jealousy on eachother. Per Bobby Martin, "You can't have that many lead songers in one group." I guess either Napolean either quit or he was "let go"....! By the time they got to "The Pier" in NY City for the filming of, "Does Humor Belong in Music" Napo was gone.
    - Shame as he's a helluva singer and saxophone player.

Two under rated Zappa tracks. If he could have just managed to write a coherent storyline for it, I reckon Thing Fish could have been a hit off Broadway.

There is a coherent storyline! It's just concealed under a series of recycled songs Frank tried to cram into a linear story. It ended up being an interesting story despite of how absurd and unconventional it was for Broadway :D

Probably one of the most coherent stories ever. It's absolute genius. Pick under the surface.

listening with attention to the libretto is essential for fully grokking both Thing Fish & Joe’s Garage. the Them Or Us book adds to the vision. vocal performance & arrangement on the LP version of Brown Moses is truly stunning. similarly stunning to the vocal performance & arrangement in Doreen from You Are What You Is. Genius. Thanks Frank.

I understand that there is plenty there if you're prepared to dive deep, but that is a lot to ask of a regular, non Zappa audience.
