  • Replacing the rear wheel bearing in a 2008 Toyota Yaris. I neglected to rotate and balance my tires which resulted in a bad tire wearing out a relatively new bearing. I'll now be rotating and balancing every ~8000 miles.
    Bearing:
    amzn.to/3UILFbW
Porter Cable Driver (not for heavy impact use but a great all purpose driver that I have used for years)
    amzn.to/3DXyY75
Tools - 14mm for the hub bolts. 19mm for the wheel lugs in my case.
Slide hammer: amzn.to/3Sr84Zk (You might be able to rent this or similar from your local auto parts store)
(These Amazon affiliate links provide a small kickback to my channel)
    Torque:
    66 Ft Lbs.

Buy 2 grade 8 1/2 inch x 3 inch bolts and nuts. Knock out 2 lugs opposite of one another. Put the 3 inch bolts through the lug holes with the nuts on the back side of the hub. Keeping the nuts against the back of the hub align the bolts against the backing plate and tighten. This willl pop the hub out. Cost is about 3 dollars for this puller. Really good Video Nick.
