You’re doing great, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! And yes, my Heidi used to stop on walks dead in her tracks and lay down, and refused to go anywhere. Not that she was hot, she just didn’t want to walk anymore. So embarrassing!🙄
I understand I have a trip mix. He is Bermes, colie, and Australian shepherd. I live in a warm summer climate. Lots of cool, air conditioning , early walks. You are doing great.
We’re in PA and I keep ours inside as much as possible or he’ll come in on his own because it’s been way too hot. Summer is the chunky season for them. Fall and winter: can’t get him in the house and he’ll slim down. 🥰 Also, yes - Jasper stops in his tracks or will lay down and not move until he is good and ready. Lol
Were in Las Vegas we go for walks at Home Depot or Lowe's at 6 in the morning the workers love seeing them come in wheater permitting even at 6 it's to hot for them sometimes.Never walk them outside in the summer. Keep the house at 70 with the fans going all wood floors they don't seem to mind. The benefit is I never have to turn my heat,on walk around in sweats and have them next to me on the couch or in bed.
