Love love love your home! Just beautiful! 💖
Thank you so much 😊😊😊
This is going to help me when I return from our holiday in Thailand. I've worked full time, and long hours, for most of my adult life. I used to jamb all my cleaning into one day on the weekend so I could have at least one day off. It's so ingrained to do everything at once, I need to learn to break it up like you have done. Especially since I now deal with chronic back pain. We're both retired now so I now have the time to break things down. Thank you! 😊
Enjoy your trip to Thailand! And - enjoy taking a little time to move through your days when you get home 🙂 Thanks so much for being here!
Great video! I am making a spread sheet so I can make my own schedule for cleaning. Monday thru Friday;-) love it! And yes music and dancing is a must!!

Hi Lori thank you for amazing video your tips are great. What was in the blue bottle please. Yes I don't think you need to buy all those products to clean different things. Thank you so much. Have a good day.
I fill the bottle with alcohol, water, and dish soap. I clean everything with this 🤷🏻♀️
I'm rewatching this... Such an awesome vid. My house is in so much need of attention that I decide to start with one area per week, then go on your schedule of one area once a week. E.g. I'm doing my dining room this week.
Question: What is your list of monthly and quarterly tasks?
It’s too much to list here but I should get that out soon. Thank you for asking ☀️
Ooh! One area or one room a day for 5 days! That's me! I stared out with the organized Mum method to get that foundation. But Im finding I need 4 levels of cleaning, and a 4 week roation, not 8 weeksm for my level 4 (level 3 for TOMM). I just dont want to wait another 8 weeks if I miss a zone, and I do not want to do any kevel 4 cleaning on the other 4 days when I'll do level 2 and 3 jobs. I just came up with this adjustment to my routine, and yourvideo popped up. So Im really excited to see what tips you have that will click with my plan moving forward. The one thing thst always trups me up is all the daily stuff that Is non-negotiable and repeats tgroughout the day. I just have not learned yet how to make those sessions go quicker without feeling like I'm constantly cleaning and tidying. Im slowly inproving on my efficiency withe dailies, but not there yet. Thanks for this!
The daily stuff can feel like a lot! I'm with you 😉
@The.LifeWithLori yeah, and I use different rags for several different levels and types of cleaning because we don't use papere towels. So, even though I have 2 major laundry days, I still have cleaning rags and towels daily, and how many loads I do varies. And no working dish washer, so I hand wash. It means standing over the sink longer each time I do dishes but in the end, I don't need to wait for the dish washer to finish a cycle to put clean dishes away or to start a new sink full,. I'd say, laundry is the one job I stay on top of pretty easily, and dishes are second, but dishes are also my least favorite job lol.
Actually, now that Im at the end of this video, I'm thinking, Im now inspired to challenge myself to do follow my updated cleaning routine, and post back to you after about a week or 2. I have 3 bathrooms. And like another commenter, I have serious back issues, so things have to be r easy for me. I do not do all 3 bathrooms in one day. I already break my areas down into 3 zones plus outside is a 4th zone. Each of the first 3 zones includes at least 2 rooms or areas and 1 bathroom. But Im going to break the schedule and jobs down a bit differently to try and make my level 2, 3 and 4 jobs quicker and easier. I'LL be happy to break it down for you if I like how it goes for me, i think it may make doing the bathrooms easier for you.
I look forward to hearing about how it works out for you 🌻
@@The.LifeWithLori Me too! My days off from non- daily cleaning change every 4-8 weeks. Right now, they are Wednesday and Thursday, so I should be able to update you on Wednesday. The first 2 days actually went pretty well, and the second day is one of my hard days,. Today's an easier zone day.
OK. Sooo ..first week went pretty well, although each day still took me a good hour. So, I finally gave into all the Fly Lady infkuenxers and decided to include her Weekly Home blessing once a week, but with my own tasks that will give my home a reset for the a week, my Level 4 rotating 30 minute focuse, and a head start on a few quick weekly tasks. That 1 hour will get tge deep, cleaning for the week out of the way and will make the weekly and monthly cleaning easier when I do them during the week.
Ok, sooo: I have 4 zones, alphabetized for me because my weekdays are numbered, since my days off from non-daily ckeaning change every month or 2. So, just think, if you're a Monday- Friday girl, then Sunday= Day 1, etc.
Also, the levels of ckeaning:
1= daily (will not be listed here, because I'm focusing on level 2-4 in the schedule)
2= weekly
3= monthly
4= rotating (1st Day focus, 1st 30 minutes of Weekly Home Blessing)
Zones (based on my house layout)
A= office
1st guest bathroom
Kitchen
Laundry area (also is back entry)
B= 1st guest room
Living Room
Large Pantry
2nd guest room
2nd guest Bathroom
C= Master Bedroom
Master Bathroom
D= Outside area
So, after figuring out what levels of cleaning each task in each area belongs in, this is how I've divided up the levels throughout each month:
Levels 2-3 are every week:
Day 1: weekly Home Blessing
Includes: 30 minutes of Level 4 cleaning in that week's Focus Zone
10 minutes wand dusting whole house (just a quick dusting of visible surfaces, corners, celing fans, etc)
10 minutes ckeaning windows and picture frames mainly in public areas
10 minutes vacuuming main public areas
Days 2-5: Finish Level 2 tasks in each Zone, then do 1 quick monthly task. Aim for only 30 minutes per Zone
Day2: Zone A
Day 3: Zone B
Day 4: Zone C
Day 4: Zone D
So, Each week, on my Level 2 and 3 days, I will do one Level 3 job per Zone per week:
Week1: De-clutter (if needed)
Week 2: rag dust and clean visible surfaces, including items on top of surfaces
Week 3: Bathrooms (1 monthly task per bathrrom
Week 4: Vacuum
Focus Day 30 minute Level 4 Rotation:
Week 1: Zone A
Week 2: Zone B:
Week 3: Zone C
Week 4: Zone D
So, for level 4 cleaning and for the levels 2 and 3 on days 2-5, you ate only cleaning in the Zone for that day. So, when you do your bathrooms rooms, you're only doing maybe 1-3 really quick tasks in one bathroom per day. Same with the other rooms and areas in each zone.
I have not figured out my outside area yet. That's a whole other project that needs serious boot camp level work, and I am nowhere near ready to tackle it head on yet. I'm just boot damping it 30 minutes on each Zone D day.
I know this was long. I'm sorry. It is a tually way more simple on practice than the way I have it listed here. I hope it makes sense.
As for time? Other that the weekly Jome Blessing which is an hour, I'm trying to stick to 30 minutes per day on the other days. I really need to stick to my timers and just stop that day's Zone Cleaning when it's done, even if I didn't get it all done. I have an all or nothing mindset, which will make me either determine to get everything done for thst day oerfe try, or just not do it at all and procrastinate. So, I'm really going to seriously I element those 1 hr and those 30 minute timers moving forward, and aim for good enough.
I hope this gives you some ideas, especially fir 3 bathrooms.
Are you cleaning your appliances with alcohol mixture ? If so, what's the ratio ?
I am. My “recipe” is 1/2 cup alcohol, 1 1/2 cup water, 1 tsp dish detergent. I clean almost everything with this. 😊
You're great at planning your cleaning routine, you'd be a hit with the customers on Turno! Just saying haha
Thanks 😊
@@The.LifeWithLori You know, I have a great schedule planning, this is a crucial part of the job. But I struggle a little to find some time to clean my own place. The shoemaker's son always goes barefoot hehe
Hi Lori. Do you have a download able copy of your weekly cleaning schedule? Thank you. 🙂
Hi Kathy - I do not have one. Maybe I should create one? 🤔
