Star Wars Episode 1 Interactive Money Banks (Thinkway Toys 1999)

Here are my Star Wars interactive money banks that I've had for about 5 years now! I have uploaded a video of these before but I thought I'd do an updated one as they have had some changes since then. The Obi Wan in this video is a complete different one to the other one one I owned (my old one's side to side gear ended up stripping hence why it was so loud) the best thing about my new one is the sound quality is that it is so much better than most I've seen/owned and he is a first gen as well (the way to tell is that the sides of the box are black on 1st gens, 2nd gens are red like Qui Gon's and Darth Maul's, and they are programmed slightly differently, you can tell in the phrase with all three of them interacting the 1st gen hits Darth Maul's lightsaber more where the other doesn't. The last difference is the way some of the mechanics have been designed better on the 2nd gen as his slashing action is a lot more efficient and his base turns a lot better too). My Darth Maul has had some changes since I last shown him as I have managed to repair his arms via replacing the washer that goes between the arm gear and the one that goes between the body up and down gear (the original washer loses friction over time so they move less than they're supposed to as they're over 20 years old lol).
I overall really love these animatronics as I am a big fan of Star Wars and have been quite a childhood item to me.

Hmmm it could be a number of things that could be causing them not to power on, are they still making sound? I'd recommend checking the battery compartments of each one, the one that has the cover that's labelled IC or something like that, that's the one that allows them to turn on, ensure that there's no corrosion on the contacts

@@HauntedSkullExtra I fixed it. I was able to take the base cover off and clean it up. Think dirt just had it jammed up. Works like new !

Why does ones of Darth Mauls lightsaber retract like that?

I think with the lightsaber hilt being the size that it is, they must have though it’d be cool to implement one of the blades to retract which it definitely adds to him!
