Fighting against the wall in open and closed position with different tasks, and one laying one standing can be added to this superb video :)
Absolutely, working off the cage. Thanks for your input!
You always drop such quality content.. very informative, and still really entertaining to watch. That's a hard middle ground to find but you nail it every video

Modular approach is crucial.

IMO one of the best videos so far! As a young man trying to structure his life this video will really help get the most out of my time. You've put out so much great content and I can't wait to see more. Is there any chance you could put up your schedule/mock schedule to give a rough idea of how much work you put in towards MMA/Gym (cardio,strength,etc)/Sleep/Meals? Thanks!
I plan on making a course around that. But my training routine does change very often, depending if i am in fight camp or teaching a lot!
And thank you! One of the best so far?
MMAShredded I love all your videos but this one in particular showed me what to expect in a well rounded MMA training session. I'm currently training Muay Thai as I don't have an MMA gym near me so I can only dream but this video motivates me to be smart with my training and structure myself as you do. Thank you for getting back to me!
Awesome! Anytime bro!
Thanks Jeff! Will definitely need to drill these next session w my partner!
Thanks bro!!
This guy makes the best mma videos
thanks brother!
High quality content. 👍👍👍👍
thanks bro!
It’s in my muscle memory to hit the like button before I watch all Jeff Chan’s videos and Lawrence Kenshins. It is just what you do these days lol. OSS!
HAHA your the best!
Synopsis
Jeff Chan kills it with 8 drills.
You have an hour so break it into rounds. I train 3 to 5 minute rounds.
Here are the rounds/drills
1) boxing with mma gloves
2) shoot boxing - boxing and takedowns only
3) kickboxing with MMA gloves
4) kickboxing with takedowns - (no ground game just stand up reset)
5) ground and pound from guard( guard pass - opponent tries to stand up. Point and reset.)
6) sweeps or submissions from guard
7) Escape turtle by reguarding, half guard or standup
8) maintain back control of your partner for the submission
Great drills, think about all the other ideas it raises from there.
I would add an everything goes round with the goal of submission from standup position.
What drill would you guys add?
cheers!
Wow Jeff this is so far my favorite training session of yours thanks for this awesome video. Can you show us what you eat for breakfast lunch dinner and condition workout as well?
Hmmm, the thing is it really varies all depending on if i have a fight, if i am bulking, if im cutting or if im just living life. And yeah you like this video the most of all my content??? Thanks!!
MMAShredded yeah becuz it showed all the skills you know so I'm gonna start training like that. So if your not fighting just living do u still try to eat healthy? Or u kinda cheat lil more?
I cheat HAHA. But I am always staying active one way or the other. "Cheating" or eating whatever I want usually helps me with eating more calories when it comes to gaining weightm/muscle. I only try to cut weight when I have a fight, but besides that i rather be bit bigger.
thx for all the great videos jeff!!, i resently talked with my trainingpartners and my coach about high kicks in mma, they tell me its really risky to do them because i might get caught with takedowns, since i started with muay thai ,most of my standup is bases on my high kicks set up, i would love to know what u think about this, thx again for all ur hard work
You will hear people saying body kicks , head kicks AND low kicks is dangerous in MMA because they can all be caught, but do you see body kicks, head kicks and low kicks used by the best fighters in the world? Hell yeah. Anthony Pettis KO's fighters with his body kicks, Jose Aldo TKO's fighters with his low kicks, and then you see TJ Dillashaw KOing fighters with head kicks. It al depends how good you are and how well you set them up. It also depends on who your fighting. If you are fighting a wrestler and BJJ guy, then perhaps you would limit the amount you throw kicks in general.
Jeff this video is perfect I have a fight in 25 days and I'm nearing the end of my camp. I'm am excited to do these drills tonight and I'm my final weeks thank you #MMASHREDDED
Awesome! Good luck on your fight, and please update me on the fight!!
I will and thank you
Cool nice vid
Thanks bro!
Hey Jeff, im curious do you have any reflex drills? You seem like a fighter that hits and doesnt let get hit back, You utilize the long guard and your movement is on point. Do you have any videos on being evasive and reflexes? Thanks for your videos. Me and my lil brother are using your videos to help with our training as our gym closed down. Much love
Thanks so much and im happy to hear your using my tips! I do plan on making a full head movement course in the near future, covering drills and my personal ways of being evasive. I am also in the process of making a tactics video on Lerdsilla, the most evasive fighter I've seen so far.
Also are u thinking of releasing any merch it would be awesome if you could get an MMA Shredded rash guard!
I actually just made my first 10 rash guards just to test it out to see if people like it or not. i will be posting it to show youtube subscribers soon!
MMAShredded awesome hopefully I can get one
If i make them, absolutely. Thank you for your support!
MMAShredded id love a rash guard too. I’d be down to buy one and supper!
Wow... Much of Gsp style game plan..
haha
Can you make a video of the gear that you use
I can just answer you here! I wear a lot from Tatamifightwear, Dynasty MMA (get 10% off with discount code 'mmshredded') and ill wear my gym team gear (renzo gracie ottawa)
awesome video. I just went for a trial mma class earlier this week. I gassed out in the warm ups itself. I know i have to work on my cardio and strength. What type of training and workouts should i do at the gym ? I plan to compete sometime in the future.
lots of pad work, heavy bag and running!
@@MMAShredded I currently have a skinny fat physic. Also, i have problems with my hip flexibility. Should i really be concerned about aesthetics when training in MMA ?
I would try to stretch 10 min before and after training every session , it will help a lot!
I mean like Im totally spoiled my bro. I get this video on how to put together a mma workout and I get those subscriptions too. You spoil me my bro😁😁😁
hahaha glad you liked this video!
Awesome video cheers, is this the regular daily format of your training sessions? Also how often do you mix mitt work sessions in? My gym uses a lot of mitt work and I feel we could benefit a lot from some of these live drills instead.
These drills I use typically closer to fight time. I also do my mitt work and low intensity long jogs. My off time training varies!
MMAShredded thanks for the reply, love your content👊
Anytime, feel free to ask me. I love communicating with viewers. And thank you for watching bro!!
Great video. How long should i train before having my first fight?
It all varies depending on how fast you learn and the amount you train. I would just listen to your coach and wait for him to let you know!
Awesome video. When I started mma I thought going all in is how sparring was supposed to be. I'm not sure if adding more components gradually is better short or long term. What have you found?
technical sparring is the way to go, but hard sparring is necessary before fights
@@MMAShredded Facts. I have a fight next Saturday. Great sparring ideas you have in this video, so I'm sure it will help alot. 👌
great vid can u do like tutorials maybe on submissions just a suggestion thanks!!!!!!
I absolutely will take that into consideration! I have not made much BJJ videos yet because I believe in backing up what I teach with sparring footage. The problem with filming my BJJ is that its very tough to film the ground in one spot. But nevertheless I still do plan on making more BJJ videos!
U are the best mma fighter. Try talk with the UFC to fight. Plz do Edson barboza. Love yr channel
Thank you Sarah!
Could you please do tactics buy Frankie Edgar?😁
I plan to eventually!
Oss !
Thanks bro!
Could u show us 1) How to balance gaining mass from weight training while losing mass to daily Muay Thai? 2) How to increase stamina in Muay Thai?
gaining mass while losing mass? I am not sure I understand
@@MMAShredded Basically Muay Thai being a high intensity cardio, makes one slimmer. How do I then strike the balance and build bigger muscles and put on more mass from doing weight training at the same time? Or in short, doing Muay Thai is killing my mass and muscle gains.
Oh, yes I have the same problem. But depending on the season or occasion, I know what are my priorities. I like being 160 + lbs but I have a fight in Nov and I am cutting to 135. But when I am off season, I will go back to 160 and gain as much strength as possible. I have found weight lifting 3x a week and training martial arts the other 4 days was a good balance for me in terms of staying in good cardio shape while gaining size.
MMAShredded thanks man. Will try to adjust to that.
Sir, how to deal with a high volume puncher?
There are varies answers, the most simple one is to counter with kicks.
Is that Harry mac in the background??
I always go for a corkscrew uppercut over a jab initially for a MMA Fight. Opinions?
Conor Mcgregor uses that a lot, i like it. I too actually use it more often then a jab. I find the jab is more of a set up and it is often parried/blocked. When I throw the corkscrew uppercut I throw it less often but when I throw it i have a higher % of landing it.
bro.... why don't u make for khabib tactics
Haha i am filming him this weekend, and will take some time to edit but hes coming soon!
Bobocha Sharma damn I was thinking the same thing good call
MMAShredded cool 😍!! hehe 😆
haha yeah!
minkyu lee .... bro thnx ok anyway where r u from
Hello.
In the fight opposing a french mma fighter Florent Betorangal VS Carlos Eduardo Rocha, at 9 minutes of the video on youtube, Florent Betorangal is in a weard position, a kind of foetus position, Do you know how is it possible to escape of it?
Thanks
id need a link to it, thanks!
czcams.com/video/dIERWAEViLU/video.html
Thanks.
MMA definitely still developing on how to train for it, lots of mma gyms have coaches for muay thai bjj and boxing etc but bringing them all together is tough
It is!!
What brand do you suggest for 7 oz gloves?
Tatami Fight Wear
👍
thank you!
Could you answer my question please: in sparring I feel like I'm rushing/reacting without thinking - how do you counter that i.e. like how do you slow yourself down?
It could be that your a bit nervous. It all comes with time and experience. The more you drill, the more you will instinctually react when sparring. As for not reacting without thinking, don't think of it as a fight and don't try to win so bad. Its okay if you get hit. Take your time, this is where you practice.
“Fast is good. But accuracy is final, learn to be slow in a hurry.” -wyatt Earp. I repeat this to myself a lot, plenty of similarities with gun fighting and cage fighting
agreed!
Thanks a lot guys 😁
Does it hurt a lot more or just a little when being hit with mma gloves than boxing gloves? I never sparred with mma gloves but I would like to if I’m gonna compete in mma.
It def hurts more haha. But we don't go as hard with mma gloves, more for the eyes and shootboxing/grappling
