I loved this season. Season 2 was meh
Title please
In the end she was one of the few who stood by his side and supported him, when all their "friends" discriminated and turned away from him when they found out he was gay and had aids 💔
The most complex and heartbreaking storyline in the show imo.
These two were my favourite couple. Loved the series.
Their last moments literally had me balling my eyes out. What a twist this storyline took.
@@awkwardsquirtle me too! Lucy Liu's timeline is the saddest more than bethann imo. 😭😭😭
She deserved better. What a jerk
Oh I watched it with an expectation of her getting revenge but they made me cry so hard the way she stuck with him till the end literally
He's gay and they haven't had intimacy for years, he has aids and cheated on her with her hairdresser. Then a young boy, friends son showed her attention and they had an affair. Husband knew and supported her. She truly loved her and he too but not as a wife, as a best friend. They both have their own affairs and supported each other for it. Then he died, he was down with aids and she injected him for euthenisia as his wishes
Their storyline was really complex and unique. Took me on a roller coaster for sure. It was really heartbreaking as he got sicker and eventually passed away.
you can definitely tell that they care about each other, but they shouldn't have been spouses
@@LMCorvinuswell, look at the bright side being his widow probably helped her long life and career afterwards. Public image and such. And on the private sense she got more time with her best friend that she might have gotten if they had never been married
What breaks my heart is thinking of how many people were forced to endure marriage like that because they couldn't reveal their true selves. 😢 No one should have to live like that.
He doesn’t want to give her aids
He obviously loves her but as a true partner not as a sexual being. She did the loving thing for him in the end because she really loved him.
So only true love is non- sexual?
@@joshmoonXY no but your true love doesnt always have to have a sexual component
@@kellygaumer5667 That's not what your first comment implied or conveyed.
Not your fault. Language is tricky.
@@joshmoonXY well i guess not your fault that reading comprehension can be tricky too because i said a true partner not true love in the first place.
And yet you said he loves her as a true partner.
So someone is only a true partner if you don't have sex with them?
Obviously a rhetorical question, but that's what your phrasing sounds like; conveys.
This storyline was my favorite fr because in the end it was so beautiful they loved each other deeper than a romantic level.
What series is this
Me too. I'd like to know which series too 😊
@@Tvdoniit’s called “why women kill” this is season one
@@danika9411 it's a show called Why women kill
Romantic level is not deep enough?
He might not have been in love with her, but she was the person he loved the most. That why she was the one he wanted to spend his last moments with. I love this series, I need to rewatch it.
I mean hes GAYYYYYYYY. But I know hes not lying when he says he loves her and she's his best friend. 💔
Well shit if my homie came out gay I'd Ditch him like how this bozzo was ditched by everyone
i always marvel at how amongst the 3 stories shown in this series their love as a couple was the truest & strongest despite not being romantic ❤🥺
Goes to show sometimes platonic love is stronger than romantic love.
The “I give you everything you need, but you don’t do the same for me” is sad. Either a lack of communication or a lack of understanding
he gay
He gay - she his beard
This reminds me of Freddie Mercury's marrige. Though they divorced he really loved her. She was with him in his death bed and most of his wealth was given to her as well. 😢
💔 that’s beautiful. Why have I never heard about her? I didn’t even know he was married
Also the show is called “Why women kill”
@@EuniceFields___ The first person is right, the show is called "why women kill"
@@EuniceFields___no it’s definitely why women kill. Hate to break it to you
Thank you
Yes The 1st Season
I know people who divorced but are still incredibly close friends. Like to the point them and their “new” (it’s been well over a decade at this point) spouses are like one BIG family living I two separate houses. And neither of their spouses have a problem with it
Because there is no LOVE (not lust)
My boyfriend's best friend is his ex-wife. And I have the weirdest time dealing with that. She broke up their marriage, she cheated on him, but she's still his best friend.
Trust me, you shouldn’t feel weird about that. My ex and I are the same. I kicked him out and he went to the mistress and is still w her. But, BECAUSE, she was uncomfortable w it, it has caused many problems in their relationship. I was the one cheated on w her and didn’t have a problem w her. She had it w me, however. I ended up messing w him as out of spite when she relentlessly harassed me and my daughters. I wouldn’t even have considered it, had she not done that. But, messing w my kids was too much and for a number of years too.
My issue wasn’t w her, as she wasn’t my wife. HE was my husband and he always cheated. I actually felt good she took that from me. I was the one who was cheated on without a care in the world. I’ve never believed in blaming the female for such. The reason why I could do this, though, was my confidence. Confidence is something a man will ALWAYS be attracted to. So, I would advise to “fake it till you make it.” That was a long time ago, and I have not done that again, as I only leave men when I’m 100% sure. He was my only husband, father of my two daughters, and the only man I ever shared a home with. But, had she been smarter, she’d understand that after a 10 year marriage, I simply didn’t want him. He was quite awful to me. I still don’t want him. But, she doesn’t seem to get that. She doesn’t mess w my kids or my contact w him anymore. I could’ve been that woman’s best ally. The truth is, that you don’t want a man who can’t get along w his ex, particularly if there are kids involved. Usually, it’s the good guys that can still be friends w the ex. And if he’s not good, you can’t make him good regardless. I’ve never done the jealousy thing, cause why stress about things I cannot control? Just live life nice and chill and let time be your best witness. So, I hope all goes your way.😊
@@Makoshark83nah that’s fucked up
I like the husband. His sarcasm is the best
Yeah except he's gay 😂
The love they had was incredible and a joy to watch. Heartbreaking but genuinely amazing when they saw how they loved each other was still absolute.
He loves her with all his heart, he just doesn't desire her.❤
I had something similar in my life, and I think this is worst than to be completely alone.
@@leabianchiyes especially if it started off as a romance. You can't come back and try to be friends after all that. It's either be friends or be romance, because anything else is lies and manipulation.
It's still better than being alone for the rest of ones life.
The Fisher-Price line was gold tho
I’ve always believed that you can fall in love with someone platonically. People call me crazy but I truly believe that. For example, nobody you meet you are going to love right away. You can like them, but you won’t love them. Months later a friendship builds and you love them like they are family. Even as children we don’t come out of the womb loving our parents. We are thinking “who are these people?” As we grow older we begin to love our parents as they love us. Carl’s story was like so many gay men’s throughout the decades. Many gay men and gay women got married to opposite sex partners as that’s what you did to seam “normal.” I’ve seen interviews of gay men in particular saying that they did truly fall in love with their wives, but not in a romantic way. My Mom never personally believed that until we watched this series together while I came home for Christmas break. Her opinion was changed. I think it is entirely possible to fall in love with someone in a platonic way.
This made me cry. You are so correct.
when you're in a fulfilling relationship, you really don't care about anyone else. In a relationship.
Thats so dumb .. litterly .. jealousy is needed ..if ur partner is not jealous of u ..he is not giving u that importance .... if u sleep with other men and he dosnt care than this is moraly questionable ..
well he's gay so
But they were having problems, even if they DID love each other. She became a beard without her knowledge, what she was saying was valid because to her it was a need.
@@haticeelci1324 why would you sleep with other men for the first place?
@@ramy7866 of course not ..but what im saying just because u are in a good relationship it dosent meen that ur man can sleep with other women because he makes u happy then dont care if he cheets or dont care if he is not jealous at all ..of course cheeting is not a solution but i heard u guys are sometimes ok if ur partner cheets as long as he loves u ..im saying this is toxic ..thats it
All couples should begin as friends and that relationship should flourish into a love that is based on that special one of a kind friendship that belongs to only them.
Bit hard when one is straight and the other is gay....
I just wish season 2 had the same concept as season 1. I loved the perspective of 3 couples from different eras.
Where will you be registered? FIsher Price? I know this is a dramatic scene but 😂😂😂
It's a good come back !!!!
Yep that was savage a dig as any on two counts her spitting the dummy out in a tantrum and also the age of her toy boy😅

I love that despite their personal preferences, they still loved each other and cared for each other deeply. It shows how strong their bond was.
i hope this is in Netflix. Lucy Lui is best Asian star in Hollywood.
No the hell she is not lmao
This was the most sad and profound story line from the series. 😢😢😢❤
I LOVE THEIR RELATIONSHIP SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! You can’t tell from this video but they are actually super healthy and happy! Let me explain-
This is the 70s and he is gay so he married his best friend (the woman in this video) because back then it’s an expectation. that you get married and start a family. then he ended up having an affair (granted he should have told her but remember this is the 70s and he had no idea how she would react. She could have told everyone and ruined his life)
She found out about his affair with a man so she had a affair with her best friend’s son to make her husband jealous (he is 18 that’s why the the husband made that joke about fisher price)
After this confrontation they had a heart to heart and realized that they still love each other platonically and don’t want to give up their rich lifestyle and air their dirty laundry by getting a divorce. So they stayed married and pretend to have a happy marriage (they still had a happy marriage just without the romantic and sexual stuff) and supported each other’s affairs behind closed doors.
They basically were just married on paper and had an open relationship while being best friends. It’s unconventional but it works for them and is super funny they gossip about their affairs and he helps pick out her outfits when she goes out on dates.
Then disaster strikes. Because it’s the 70s and at the height of the AIDS crisis the husband ends up getting it 😭😭. He doesn’t want to wait for the disease to take his body and instead wants her to inject him with something that will kill him painlessly (I forgot what it was) at first she refuses because she doesn’t want to lose her best friend but he ends up convincing her that it’s what he wants and is the best for him. It made me cry. A LOT.
The show is ends after a flash forward of a couple of years and it shows her still rich and still the baddest bitch around. She ends up never remarrying but stays friends with her affair partner and it’s hinted that they still have sex sometimes.
They show is called “why women kill” and it shows three stories (including the one I just told you) that all happen in one house one story happens in the 1930s, one in the 1970s, and one in 2020. It cuts between the three timelines throughout the series and at the end a woman kills somebody in each timeline the show is basically the lead up and the motives for the murders. That why it’s called “why women kill”
You're wrong. This is neither healthy nor a marriage, just a contract, an adjustment. He literally betrayed her!

Dude….they are both cheating…. Cause it’s a lavender marriage. He’s gay, she knows that. They are married for appearances.
You dove headfirst to conclusions on a 60sec short, wild. Just go watch the show so you can not look goofy
S's hard as it is, people need to be more open and communicate like this. If you can not tell someone you love what you need from them and they are not able to tell you they can or can not give that to you, then everyone ends up more hurt in the end. Yes it hurt when he said he couldn't be that for her, the kind of man to kill someone for sleeping with her, but you can see also that she can take the needed steps to heal from that need not being fulfilled, either by accepting that or by changing how things are.
This is such an eye opener! Great acting and beautiful look into a different life!
Lol he didn't get it until she explained it to him that she needs romantic love too. He's her best friend but we need romantic love too.
This is the best marriage driven by respect and friendship. Commitment comes from them wanting the best for the other. Note: Passion subsides and many divorce looking for passion elsewhere.
These life long friendships have what it takes to endure.
I understand wanting it ALL but, this is better then betrayal or disinterest or divorce.
IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS... THAT'S A COLD BLOW... FROM A HUSBAND WHEN HE SAYS THAT HE'S YOUR BEST FRIEND...
"who is th.... COMMODORE NORRINGTON?!?!?!?!"
I was thinking the same thing lol 😂
Yes, it is!
THAT'S WHY HIS VOICE WAS SO FAMILIAR
This is heartbreaking. What an a-hole. I read a similar real story on reddit. The man never told his wife. They had kids n all. He told her when they were in their 40s or 50s. The wife stayed cuz she had no other way to go. After, she died, The kids disowned the dad for hurting their mom like that and he was living alone with disabilities.

Lucy Liu is a fabulous actress. A legendary icon. ❤
What's up, Commodore Norrington 👋
Her acting is great here! I don’t ever seeing her with that much range.
Even if he wasn't gay no man should ever be willing to do that. No one who would betray you by cheating is ever worth killing for.

Love this show. Hate they cancelled it...
I genuinely love how this story ended. It would've been so easy to have three infidelity storylines, but the curveball that she did it out of love was so wholesome...

Lucy liu was brilliant in this role. Absolutely brilliant.
Most complex couple on TV and loved their dynamic and story arc. The loyalty and the friendship even after their divorce. Moving. ❤

Thank you. It’s asking a lot to expect your mate to commit a crime of passion, like a mob boss. Maybe she needs the drama.
@@scdundee12 I think we’d all go crazy if we were married a man for many years just for him to say I’m gay and I’ve known this whole time, even having affairs with other men
So, you'd be ok with your partner cheating on you for years and suddenly drop a bomb shell that they don't love you the way you love them? You're telling me that you wouldn't feel confused, hurt, betrayed, etc? I'm calling bullshit.
Well, that is true. If a man or woman does not feel any jealousy, it means he/she does not truly love you.
God the concept of an open marriage could have saved us all from this whole conversation 😂😂

That's all well and good but I hope you realize that gay men are also more than the "gay best friend" trope and the "gay man forced into a straight relationship" trope. Most gay men are just average ppl who are attracted to the same gender.
I love their relationship and friendship the most out of the three stories. They're truest to eachother

I had a man who told me he loved me. Told me that every day. He proposed to me with a ring. I said I couldn’t because our religions are incompatible.
He moved away, got married. But the new wife was cruel and incompatible. He divorced her.
He moved back into the area. We see each other now. At least we understand marriage will not be the goal. We both understand that a good friendship is better.
Poor guy, he clearly went through a lot of heartbreak. I hope he finds someone he can make a happy future with.
Just move on with two different people. Being friends will only complicate things.
Incompatible religions shouldn't get in the way of love

Aw that broke my heart 💔
On the plus side I have known real life versions of this couple. And it's nice to see the world slowly change. ❤
It's the kind of conversation that you need to look past the superficial things being said. She doesn't actually want a man who would k*ll someone, what she needs is a man who will be passionate for her! Laughing at the situation is a deflection. Becoming angry is facing the issue head-on. She wants the later reaction.
In the end, being her best friend was enough. And she was a loving and devoted wife and friend who stood by his side until his last breath .....
In the end their relationship and marriage was truer than the others
They really did love each other so so so much, even if it wasnt romantic love... it was enough, it would have been anyways if they hadnt gotten married... the best out of the three stories in this show, it made me bawl my eyes out for hours. 😢❤
