    Currently going through a damage claim with mechanical damage (lots of suspension work) for the 1st time. It's been HELL. The accident occurred the day before Memorial day (May 28th). I just received the supplement payment 2 days ago, so now the repairs will finally start this week after the ordered parts come in. The claims adjusters have taken their sweet time every step of the way & I had to do a lot of advocating for myself to even get where I am now.
    By the time everything is said & done, it'll be 9 or 10 weeks before I get my car back. 90% of that time was caused by Turos claim process, not the repair facility. I'm pissed to the highest pisstivity at this point 😒

      The only way to solve this problem order your parts out of pocket fix the car and wait still turo pays you. But you will save time even turo if doesn’t going to approve the claim anyway you need to fix that car.

    Another thing to consider is how long it takes to get your car back in business

    Hi Aubrey. So a guest got in an accident during the trip and turo pay out is way lower than the shop’s estimate. If the shop files a supplement form. Do I have to fix my car at that exact shop?

    In my market of Vancouver BC there is no deductible on the 75% plan. makes for good margin on damage claims.

    I had 2 vehicles out of service for literally 6 months during the height of the plandemic madness. Headliner for one literally came from Japan, and must have sat in a container in the bay for > 3 months (yep, he managed to blow the side-impact air bags).

    Do you have an updated video on how you manage your fleet now that Car Sync doesn’t work on Turo anymore? And now since Turo has its own automated messages you can create. How different has managing things become?

    You are right, it's a numbers game, and there WILL be accidents. Hosting multiple cars for 4 years, I recently removed 2 of the 3 performance cars due to the following. Of course accidents suck, but the way and the cost of Turo handling it is a mindbending, wasteful exercise I wouldn't wish on anyone. But the absolute WORST is when a "Guest" rents your performance car with the explicit purpose of hot rodding the absolute hell out of it, torturing it, doing burnouts and drifting, and grinding the Brembo brakes down to bare metal . When it happened in November 2022, it was a major hassle, I lost money on the rental AND being out of service for a month. By the time all the brake rotors, pads, and tires were replaced, Turo shelled out $6000 for this loser. Fast forward 7 months, with only 5K miles on the $2000 tires - I tell the renter, who had an out-of-state license, this story, and how Turo's insurance would be trying to get their money back from this loser. He shook his head. When he turned it in 3 days later (at night) he had done the same thing, as if I wouldn't notice, along with some bonus body damage. It has been 44 days and I'm still waiting on "Snapsheet" for a supplement with no end in sight. Turo "Claims Rep" phone goes straight to VM no matter what. 5 emails, day after day, and some text messages are all ignored. INCREDIBLY, I tried several times, and the main support 800 number just rings busy!!! THAT sucks for me, but imagine someone broke down on the road, their only Turo number is giving them the finger, and they might just die from the 110 degree heat. I've NEVER seen such negligence. Oh yeah, the current repair bill has gone up from their super low $2K estimate to $6K...again. Even more amazing is that the rep said that person won't even get Turo-banned unless they do this 3 or 5 times. I've had it.

    I don’t think talking about it on a channel is a good idea. I wonder how long it takes Turo to change their insurance model. I just can’t understand why talking about screwing over the company is going to be good in the long run 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @samanthagwynne
      @samanthagwynne Před rokem

      It's not screwing over the company, she's not super explicit with this but they did all the work themselves so they are paying themselves instead of a shop. Shops also inflate parts prices and they shop smart for cheaper used parts instead. So insurance is paying a fair price, they're just putting in the work instead of paying an upcharge to a shop.

    Good video, but it encourages hosts to be dishonest, claiming they spent $5K to fix a car when in reality it only cost them $2K. So either the guest or Turo pays $3K more than they really needed to.

  •  Před 11 měsíci +1

    As a host, this information is great but I'm a guest and this is just terrible. I'm currently fighting a damage claim that's so unreasonable I'm considering taking the host to small claims court. Two scratches less than an inch each and I'm being charged over $1,000. The host is probably doing what the title of this video describes, "making a profit off of Turo".
    I drove through 5 states and the damages were a 1/3 of an inch crack on the windshield after being hit by freeway debris (costs $70 to fix). The other was another 1/2 an inch scratch in the rear bumper. Absolutely unreasonable damage claim.

    • @AllstarSurfer
      @AllstarSurfer Před 10 měsíci

      Turo doesn't repair damage that's less than 3 inches.

    •  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@AllstarSurfer So replacing a windshield because of a repairable 1/2 inch crack doesn't sound wrong to you?

      Charging a guest $1,000 for a $70 repair is a valid business model, according to turo. Basically turo promotes scamming

    • @zszs100

      Its not wrong. U got the car without the dent, so u should be charged based on what it cost to repair it back to the original condition, not based on patch work. The car's resale value is affected otherwise. So the host gets compensated a fair amount, but he can choose to do whatever he wants with that fair compensated money.

A scam would be to fake the evidence.
