Shoutout to @c6jones720 for the inspiration!
For a simpler solution you might like as well, check out Fluid in the store. You can also install by searching the store for the exact name with App Lab if you don't care about the extra stuff in SideQuest. To me, SideQuest makes app discovery so much easier that it didn't even occur to me to do this any other way.

Also, I filmed this a few days ago and it looks like I was on to something.. mixed-news.com/en/meta-quest-better-window-management-in-the-works/?amp=1
Hey Shane cut your hair hippie.
And stop triggering weirdos like you who get so upset by it that they leave comments like this? Not a chance. Also try learning first grade punctuation, dip shit 😂
Don’t listen to this man he watches AEW!!! He’s one of those!!!! Lol
The good thing about apple entering the market is that we all expect meta to speed things up in terms of features and innovation in the ecosystem
Fold content, now quest content. I like it!
I think you're my new favorite VR youtuber, your content is very concise and very nice to watch!
Glad you enjoy it!
Meta needs to do this fixed multi window feature anywhere in the house with a perammiter overlay override so you can fit the multi-window anywhere in your own space, plus Meta needs a better UI design features.
Thanks so much! Love this!
After trying both, I think Fluid may be better.
Great demonstration! 👍🏽
Fluid is better and it's free at the moment. Reality browser not only doesn't have memory but you have to move to put it places. It also makes some sites think it's an android phone.
Yeah was going to say the same... No need for sideload here... But the issue is that this is only browser... It needs native apps... But i don't think quest can do it
Great video and detailed . I was wondering how do you close the open web pages within the browser ?
You're right. It was a pain in the ass to get this all linked up. For some reason my dev mode was disabled and my 2 Factor phone number no longer works. But at least it's running. Thank you
Awesome! Ok these are both cool, will be exciting when can use other apps instead of just web browsers
Thanks dude
Sick! Ty
You’re a hero I’ve literally been searching to try and figure out how to do this lol. Can you also open other apps like an apk so I can play a game and watch CZcams with this?
Just browser windows
@@scaryifliteral awe lame. Guess I just keep waiting for them to update it then
Thank, very usefull
With passthrough you can disable boundaries.
How to use quest while on the move (cars, bike, plane etc).?
Supossedly its coming in v63 or v64 so like 2 months away?
I seriously hope that this comes to stock UI, can’t wait tbh
is it good for text edition?
I tried it and unfortunately you can't use bluetooth keyboard and you need two controlers to do everything (especially you can't resize the windows with only one controller like you can with the regular browser) so it's not very useful and optimised (also no settings and options at all).
What happens if you dont have a link cable? Can you do it with the air link thing? I don't know if the charger is the same cable or not since I just bought my quest 3 online and have to wait to pick it up but if not the same, I did see the cables run for like 80 dollars which is kinda crazy imo lol.
You just need a USB C to A cable.
is it gooe for text edit
is ur pass through clear?mines terrible
If you really want to use reality browser to its fullest potential go into your developer setting and turn your boundary off. Then launch reality browser.
Can you clearly read on the virtual desktop? Can you use if for development?
I'm not a developer, so I can't speak to that. The virtual desktop apps I've used have looked quite nice though.
@@scaryifliteralThank you :)
@@apennisinot sure if my opinion will help at all but I've used Meta Horizon Workrooms and Virtual Desktop and the picture quality is amazing. Using Workrooms, the computer display might be a lower resolution, but you'll have the ability to have up to 3 monitors at once - even if you your PC isn't connected to 3 monitors. With VD, you only have a single monitor at once but it is extremely crisp. Workrooms is free but VD is easier to set up and surprisingly has more support.
Yes. For desktop work I am using the app "immersed". The free version lets you have 3 windows connected to the PC (up to 5 in the paid version), move them around feely, resize and control the curvature. You can work in passthrough, or in VR spaces like a cafe or a space station, alone or in co-working areas with random people. The PC recognizes them as screens and you can setup their locations so that dragging stuff around stays intuitive, just like real screens. You can also set their resolutions and aspect ratios individually.
@@MiguelPais ooo I haven't tried this one yet. I know you're message wasn't directed to me, but thanks for this suggestion. Do you happen to know the price for the paid version?
What's the purpose of Sidequest when the app can be found on Meta's store? I think I'm not understanding something here.
This app is under the App Labs banner, which means it's not fully tested. While not the only method for installation, installing SideQuest not only lets you install those apps nice and easy, it gives you lots of other possibilities too.
Should I get it, or wait for the next gen?
That will be a while
The massive improvement won't come until they start to normalize and improve desktop features. With a *_real_* emphasis on productivity features. Regardless of what's trending. The experience will get better for everyone. Not just a subset of gamers that want to lay down and watch Netflix.
Although it's cool I have to ask the question is why do we need this. I know vr will improve over time but I just don't know why we want that many apps open all over the place.
I do think meta and others will start adding more features now apply had a vr headset and the same with apple adding more to their own
I personally just don't see what vr is adding to how I use my pc now apart from me moving around more.
I do think its cool for something like meetings and demos as well as viewing virtually environments but out side of this I don't see how it replaces my pc and workspace.
I tend not to worry about why "we" need anything and focus on what I need. In terms of work, it's not something I'll ever use, at least not in its current state. I can see watching content and having another window or two strategically positioned being really useful though. Watching multiple sports streams with scores, etc.
Grab That Auto 5
Pressure bursts pipes and makes diamonds deffo coming to stock.....
just get the app fluid, without sideloading
Fluid is pretty good as well, but I actually like this one better. This was also a good excuse to show people SideQuest too.
@@scaryifliteral I understand, but with fluid you skip the more complicated installation process
Why did you use Reality Browser instead of Fluid?
czcams.com/video/9kU6aGP6OVk/video.html
U did the most complicated thing, i just did install fluid on meta store xd and its free
I talked about Fluid in another app as well. I prefer Realty Browser.
Doesn’t this just work by installing via app lab?
As said in my pinned comment, SideQuest makes app discovery so much easier that it didn't even occur to me to do this any other way. Doing it like I show is better in the long run because of that, even if it's harder in the short term. Just my opinion!
Did you notice any performance hits after having that many windows open while recording ?
I would hope not being that it can run games natively!
Not that I could tell
What happen to hand occlusion? Didnt meta promise us that? Its ruining the immersion so bad.
anyone else unable to scroll on the reality browser windows?
Aw, I jumped to try this app but there's SO many limitations, it feels so underbaked. Just to name a few dealbreakers: No keyboard support?! No hand tracking. No aspect ratio resizing. No Firefox addons (adblock)...
meta wont let people unlcok developer mode anymore, its impossible to make a developer account
so are ya gonna sell both of ur kidneys to get a vision bro?
Ooooooooooooo floating windows on quest it is over let almost you can seamlessly switch to controllers to hands
Turn off the boundary in developer mode and you will have a blast
Remove free from your title 😂
Why? The windows are free floating as they can be placed anywhere.
