    It’s very rare for Kate and William to show any public displays of affection so holding hands while they walked to their vehicle really stood out. No doubt she could use his physical strength to help her so quickly after giving birth and it is such a bonding experience for the parents as well right after delivering a baby. A baby is a gift that needed equal parts William and Kate and the love they felt for one another, especially just after the birth is very strong. I hope they stay a happy family for the rest of their days. Bless those children. :)

    7 hours later is not abnormal for a healthy and physically fit woman! I had my daughter at a birthing center completely unmedicated and went home with her 3 hours after she was born. That was a year ago, we are both still just fine, and I wouldn’t choose to do it any other way. It’s insurance and pharmaceutical companies that have everyone believing you need an epidural, IV lines and a 3 day hospital stay.

      By normal she means it is normal for a mother to be sent home the same day after giving birth. It happens far more in other countries just not here in the US. Now maybe you are saying it is not normal for a woman to be made up like the Duchess is and you are probably right. Most women won't bother, but the Duchess has to make a public appearance and I can guarantee if you had to you would make sure you looked your best doing so.

    I'm in the UK and I went home less than 24 hours after a c-section and walked absolutely fine up and down the stairs no problems. in fact I'd been up in my feet a little over three hours post birth and tending to my baby with no issues at all .. the most important thing is mind set.. getting your head in the right place before the birth.. it helps the medical experts and meds to work their magic.. however that being said.. No matter what shape you are in post birth.. there is always recovery and within a short space of time it won't matter who walked out gracefully and who ambled out with a grimace on their face.. wear your experience with pride, you earned your stripes tiger!

  • @plasmichoneytrip
    @plasmichoneytrip Před 6 lety +21

    Unless it was a complicated labor or a caesarean section, walking a few hours after birth should be fine. This is normal in other countries and as long as the mother feels well, this (movement)could even help with the contraction of the uterus which helps reduce further blood loss. The body adapts well under normal circumstances. Most of all, she gets the best care possible so that significantly helps.

    In the UK second time mums go home soon after delivery, unless there's a problem. In the mid 90s I had my second baby at 00:20 and only went home at 10:00 because that was when the Dr did his rounds. If my son had been born at 08:00 I expect I still would have gone home at 10:00. We don't get pushed around in wheelchairs (like you see on American TV shows - don't know if that really happens in the US).
    EDIT: I also had a midwife calling around often (can't remember if it was every day - was 22 years ago), until they said that everything was OK with me and my baby. We then have an allocated Health Visitor who calls every so often to make sure the baby is developing OK - my Midwife and Health Visitor (HV) were fantastic. The HV would make sure her appointments were before her lunch hour because she had quite a tough area and I was respite for her (she told me that). I'm trained to work with young children so she didn't have to worry about me knowing if my children were developing properly etc, but she called, I think it was mainly for a chat and a cup of tea!
    My second birth experience was different to my first. With my 1st son, I stayed in hospital for about 3 days. With my 2nd I was on, what was called, a domino scheme - basically my community midwife delivered my baby so I got to knew her before the birth and afterwards.
    No wonder we want to protect our NHS - it has been a good service, although it's going downhill now (unfortunately)!

    I don't understand the sudden wonder at her wearing heels. She wore high heeled wedge shoes after Georges' birth and flats after Charlotte's. Where was the incredulous wonder those two other times??? She also left hours after giving birth to Charlotte. Why is every news media outlet acting so damn surprised? Clearly they were NOT paying attention and/or are just jumping on a stupid band wagon.

      Are you fucking serious? Stop spreading fake dangerous bullshit. There's almost no midwives existing now and I really doubt they have any emergency medical/surgical experience. My mother had to have a C-section since my twin sister and I were not positioned correctly for delivery. And my boyfriend also had complications with his birth and could have harmed and possibly killed himself and his mother. And this all occured unexpectedly at birth. You can't take stupid risks for the sake of tradition or "doing it the old way". That is just so selfish and careless and you are risking the life and future of a child. Even if the child survives, they can still have long term effects and complications. I have a cousin who did not receive proper care at birth and now suffers from it. He did not get enough oxygen when he was born. And now have to go to therapy every single day. So stop being out horrible advice to men and women.
