So i went with my best mate and her family, TWICE in 1989!,!! there must have been some HUGE discount for a 2nd break the same year, however, for a couple of 13 year olds, this was heaven, out all day, would buy our dinner and be back at the chalet for tea then quick change for the night out, we would do our hair and makeup the same and identical outfits, yes, sad, but thats what we did, I got drunk on a couple of Bacardi and coke and walked home arm in arm, I grew up with this working class holiday, It did me and my mate’s family the world of good, I feel so blesses that I experienced this, it made me who I am now......a senior nurse manager WORKING CLASS ALWAYS and PROUD NORTHERNER 😀

Neil Jones i went there some times in the 80s late 80s. Do you remember the old woman in the glass case as soon as anyone walked by it use to get up and say welcome to the supergran i think.
Do you remember the car filled with coke cans .i can only think it was parked up in the club house.
I got a picture some where with 2 beautiful blond bunny girls when i was on stage either side of me.
Was there a showboat where you could do activities ?

Thankyou. I can't remember the year I was here, 1984/5/6, we went attending the UKFJB contest, (United Kingdom Federation of Jazz Bands) - remember when they were a thing and every town had one? I was in the Nottingham Forrester's as the shield bearer, I would have been around 9-11 years old lol. I loved the place, I wasn't with my parents and under the "care" of another family who I shared a challet with. I have fond memories of this place... Remember going on the chair lift on my own all the way to the beach lol. I think I got in trouble for going on my own lol. They didn't offer much supervision and I pretty did much as I pleased while I was there. Great nostalgia, thankyou for sharing this.

Had some of the best Holidays ever here in 1982 & 1983. The outdoor pool, the fairground with the giant and the chairlift. Not to mention the Empire Theatre and the glue tunnel. Magical times. Went back in 1991 & 1993, I think. A little of the magic was still there then. Virtually nothing remains now at Hafan Y Mor.

My parents owned a caravan at Greenacres in Porthmadog & whenever we used to go there we'd always visit Pwllheli. We had to drive past Butlin's to get into Pwllheli town & right as we were going past (on the way there & back!) I always used to sit with my nose pressed right up against the car window staring in awe through the railings into Butlin's- especially the outdoor pool which I was obsessed with!
