@@OblivionEditz someone did die, but not doing maintenance. It wasn’t good. Some staff would play “chicken” as the coaster descended forwards, until one man misjudged it.
@@chriggle1 yes I went there must’ve been around 12ish years old was the first big coaster I went on had a good time I remember someone telling me it happened and remember the hissing sound it made as it was being lifted then you had 5 seconds before it dropped
Me, too, chriggle1. I worked there from 86 to 91, One year I had to live less than a hundred feet away from this ride. I'd be trying to get a rest on my day off and just heard screaming all day. A lad got killed on it one year. I think that was 87 or 88. It was closed for months.
I went on this loads of times whilst at butlins, we used to press the bar at the start when they locked it so tight and feel really safe , I got to the other side and it was open so badly I didn’t feel safe at all! Was scared for my life literally!
I can’t remember how long ago it was, but I went on this and on the return back to the station it didn’t make the loop and valled, we had to be rescued by workers who brought out ladders to get us down. We were stuck for ages. It was then closed for the rest of my holiday. That was ability 35 years ago.
I was on this when it broke down and we were stuck upside down coming out of the inversion, took hours to get us out, I’m sure as compensation we got free pop 🥤 😂
my dad took me on this, it was my first rollercoaster experience. It scared me so bad I didnt go on any other coasters with a big drop till I was in my 20s
The lad who didn’t get on the ride looks very much like me! I think I went to Butlins in 94 and used to queue for The Boomerang as soon as I would get off. What month was this filmed? Just so that I can disprove to my family that that’s me in the shot!
I remember getting stuck on this when going backwards it didn't make it over the second loop so we got stuck at the bottom between loops for at least half an hour until they came over and released the harnesses so we could climb off. They had a tether thing on it so they could drag it back slowly over the loop back to the station

When I went here as a child it seemed 6 times as high when you was at the top, loved it fantastic times

Remember Cueing for this as kid with my sister.was crapping it. Mid 80s think it was. Great memories.
My grandad was one of the people that put this ride up heard many stories growing up about it

My first and favorite boomerang coaster is the Tidal Wave at Trimpers rides in Ocean City Maryland.

Queued up twice, my arse went. Kids laughing at me for being scared….or I’m my words ‘I just can’t be bothered’ 😂
You had to make sure your buttons were closed didnt you , now smart boy ... what a ride i was too short i didnt reach the banana ....
I never go that one because I have a lot the other and I missed this one…
I went here in 1989...went on it 25 times...and the second to.the last day a fair worker died while we were there. It was awful.
