There was smoking lounge room in every school when I was there. Still waiting for the Acid Rain to destroy all the Food Crops. My Garden has 3 extra weeks of grow season, who an I to complain?
I understand that there's an ineffable aspect to this conflict that can be universalized and applied to all conflicts. The problem is that that aspect of the conflict is ineffable and useless. But have you maybe considered that your particular perspective as a Jew who wants to see Israel thrive might be diametrically opposed to the will of Palestinians? In other words, why don't you act like all the others who support Israel and talk about how the Palestinians are not worthy of self-determination? Why do you insist on talking about how tragic the situation is for Palestinians in preface to explaining how outraged you are about the fact that students are protesting their universities for their investments in Israeli companies? Just be a real man and warp the truth in your favor. There are times where you must not ask any deep questions that challenge your leaders. This is one of them. Stop pretending as though you are above this conflict and act in a way that shows you have loyalty to your own kin.
Eric, you have created your own straw man. This isn’t me you’re describing. I believe the human species is facing imminent extinction. No one wins. I don’t believe Israel will thrive. I don’t think Israel will survive. No one comes out of this alive.

It's fascinating, I never expected antisemitism to arise primarily from the "far left" compared to the "far right"...
It was always there.

Bracing as always.
