Great demo of harness history. Back in the 90s I made my own saddle using car seat belt material. The options were really limited. Nowadays there are so many options it is hard to decide what to buy.

@@BinoH You’re welcome! I’m making the jump to battery operated over hand chain saws. I’m seriously looking into the Echo DCS2500t. One of the reasons is because of the two year commercial warranty and the possibility of purchasing 2 string trimmers that run off the same battery. Do you have any experience or have heard about it?
@@TerrellWillams I recently started looking into battery operated chainsaws because I'm hearing that in California by the year 2024 you might not be able to buy gas powered chainsaws. The ones that I looked at are Husqvarna, Stihl and Makita. I am still at the being stages of looking though.

Quite the special effects @ the beginning. That climb Noah had seem to go well with that Leather Sierra relic. But when he came down his pants pulled up like he was Pee Wee Herman. I have a New Tribe recreational saddle that is only a couple of years old with nice padded leg loops. Only thing is that it just has a webbed loop in the middle up front with no D-rings. I would sure use it more if it had D-rings. Nice video of nostalgic significance. 👌
I remember starting with a weaver seat style saddle in 2019! I hated it I was so skinny it started bruising me, I immediately got a sequoia and used that even since haha, p.s thank you for you help on the ISA CTW I unfortunately didn’t pass the Written part but I nailed the climbing, I’ll be retesting soon!
Anyone know of an arborist saddle used by someone wearing continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump? Seems the main belt on some/many saddles appear to cross the abdomen. I have a desire to climb, but not having much success finding somewhere "close" to see/try on/test fit saddles to see if it is even a possibility. Any suggestions?
Always learning new things from you....and tanks to you I have star working on side jobs that I have done very well........thanks for sharing your knowledge......now ..here's idea for nex video..you should talk about chainsaw s ..sharpening........I find out. That one of my chainsaw. Have small tooth on one side and bigger teeth on other side.i can't figure out why that happens 😅..

There alot of good saddles out there today. I'm in a MB nowadays I love it best iv ever used it just fits my stile. Great back supports 👏 👍 an handles a big saw great there are other saddles that are just as good but they don't fit my stile of climbing. You gotta really think about how you climb an not just pick a saddle cause it's the best or top saddle by a company. Another saddle I was really impressed with and is a middle of the pack on price is the cougar by weaver there are things that could be better but for its price you won't go wrong in my opinion ofcourse.
Have had lawn maintenance/landscaping/ tree trimming business for a few years ready to step up my game . Could you make a vid or list on a good list of things needed.!
Harness, Climbing Rope, Triact-Lock Caribiners, Flip-Line, Throw line, Throw ball, Spurs, Rigging line, top handle chainsaw, and probably more. But those are the basics to start learning different techniques
I have a photo somewhere of Ken Palmer in 95 with a petzl navaho harness on. ArborMaster went on to make the buckingham red and blue classic which is a beefed up navaho. Then they made some nice saddles with floating ds and fixed points with all types of adjustment. The only downside was the weight. Ken Palmer really moved the industry along, he is a great guy and I had a chance to work with him here in europe.

Love the MB. I like it more than tree motion but I do more take downs. Some pruning and it's plenty flexible enough but I love the back support plus it handles a big saw better than the treemotion. I would say if you just pruning an goin out on tips all day the tree motion prob be way to go buy for me MB all the way. the Buckingham 5.0 I havnt tried but I believe The big Buck Is the name of one an really liked it. For a middle of the rd saddle I used the cougar by weaver an really liked it as well I started on weaver saddles very sturdy an you feel safe in them atleast I did. For a new climber I think having those big straps an just knowing that you can trust them goes a really long way in mental comfort atleast for myself.

If it's rated for climbing you should be able to. You should have a figure eight or some ascending or descending device.
1978 is the date of my "belt' my first 'saddle' came a lot later. My old 2 D ring belt is still with me and perfectly serviceable to this day.
