    Nsala Malakum Yayi. I enjoyed your video… on my journey in Palo Mayombe, I’ve learned a lot from godparents. As I go deeper on my path my Congo spirits / ancestors are showing me secrets that are not being shared or no one wants to talk about.. like how they traveled etc. I’m happy for you! May Nsambi continue to bless you.🌻

    Omg its crazy that this video popped up! I wasnt introduced to witchcraft with Palo but Ive been feeling I want something deeper! I’m afro-latina BUT grew up in an african american household bc I didnt know my hispanic side of the family(Dad)! And honestly since my initiation into palo, Im soo interested in a deeper aspect of ATR! I’m learning on my own about palo and Kingo tradition/culture…bc of the fact my padrinos arent doing their part in guiding me or having time to TEACH ME. Its like they hot their money and thats it. BUT GOOD THING I love to learn new thing and love to read! But No classes, nothing from ny initiation so its dissappointing…. After I payed $1500. But I want to know it all! PALO, IFÁ, OCHA…. All of ATR to an extent! Thank you for this video! Cab someone get in contact with you OUTSIDE of youtube?

    Thank you ror sharing your beautiful story. I too had my DNA done but through Ancestry. And found out most of my DNA is from Nigeria I'm 36% I also have roots in the Kongo. For years before I knew this. Every time I would hear about the horrors the Congolese people, suffered at the hands of Leopold in Belgian Congo. I would cry & get very emotional about it. It still bothers me to this day. So I knew I had Roots connected to those people. I thought about Palo but wasn't sure. I'm Afro- Caribbean/ West Indian roots on my mother's side from the Bahamas. So Lucumi seems like a fit culturally. But I was lead to Isese. I also had a Ifa divination done. With an Isese Babalawo who said I was called to initiate into the system. This was two and a half three years ago. I have not initiated yet but I practice Hoodoo. Which was taught through my Great-grandmother and I venerate the Seven African Powers along with My Ancestors. I'm not sure which way the winds will blow (Oya). But for now I'm happy & Blessed.

    Im a Tata in palo and im also going to receive my hand of ifa eventually. When I ask my babalawo about palo, he doesnt know what it is😅. So im assuming ifa is used to keep someone aligned with their destinty and palo is for daily guidance

    • @isismoon
      @isismoon  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes, depending on where your Babalawo is from, I can say it's common that they may not know a lot about Palo. And there is more of a deeper difference between the two systems then what you're assuming. So it's probably best to talk to your elders who initiated you into Palo about that.

    • @one20tarot81

      Two diferent systems even though Ifa uses many of the same herbs called ewe and uses the Orishas to do work they all use eggun -the spirits and ancestors. When you consult Ifa there is always an ebbo, for good or to ward off so called bad. In Malongo it is usually more direct but the greates is espiritismo where you speak directly with spirit and tells you your problem and how to solve it.

    Interesting how they practice in the Congo someting that bascially disappered over 500 years ago, and Palo Monte so called Palo Mayombe has a lot more than people think or so called know, but it is a creole system just like Hatian Voo-Doo, and New Oreleans style compared with Ghanian or Ivory Coast, or Liberian. Thas why it is called Afro-Cuban. It would be interesting to know from what lineage , branch, munazo you hail from and where intiated by whom but like you say it is your journey and how they practice in Afrika today is not how they practice in Cuba or 500 years ago, funny I thought women were not aloud in most tradional religions unless old be glad to converse with you sometime be well.

      Palo is almost list Christianity with the systematic aspect! Palo branches of into different sectors…. brillumba, Kimbisa, Monte, Malongo, monte! Keep that in mind! Like Christianity…. Baptist, catholic, pentacostal, lutheran etc. So Palo Mayombe is not just Monte
