In this video, you will learn and practice how to convert direct speech into indirect speech.
There are many occasions in which we need to describe an event or action that happened, and very often that includes repeating what someone said. Such occasions can include a social situation as well as a work email or presentation. In order to describe people said there are two different types of speech - direct speech and indirect speech (or reported speech).
Direct and indirect speech can be a source of confusion for English learners.
You can answer the question What did he say? in two ways:
by repeating the words spoken (direct speech)
by reporting the words spoken (indirect or reported speech).
