Released in October 2003, Viewtiful Joe is a stylish beat 'em up with movie-inspired moves and pop culture references. Joe is just a regular guy who has always wanted to do exciting movie things. I used to play this game for months when I was 13 or 14. And this is run so fast and efficiently that it doesnt even look like the same game. It's weird how pace can make a familiar game look so different.

If you throw a voomerang immediately at the start of the fight (facing away from Charles), it'll track him and knock him down. Then I follow up with another slow voomerang for the kill.
That works with all characters on Kids mode. And it works with Joe and Blue on Adults. Fun fact :D
The boss at 26:00 was as far as I could get in the game. Friggin hard as hell.

I would like to see a speedrun but in the highest difficulty, even if it took longer than the "kids" playthrough
He actually has the Ultra V-Rated record, so as a showcase of skill, there's no difference between Kids and Ultra V-Rated because he's already proven that he has the skill to beat Ultra V-Rated consistently. Really the only difference between Kids and Ultra V-Rated is you have to spend more time sitting around waiting for him to recharge his VFX and kill enemies with tons of health. From the standpoint of entertainment, Kids mode is a better choice.

Yeah. This game fucking slaps. Play it ony my dolphin emulator all the time. Between this game... And randomizer mods for ocarina of time and wind waker. I barely play anything else
@@LemursManLemurs1 best thing about it is how much fun it is to master. Pushing the difficulty up and going for ranks is where Viewtiful Joe really gets good. I had a hard time playing anything else myself.

Agreed,just look at what the fuck happened to RE. What we get now are movies with tacked on 3rd-person over-the-shoulder action gameplay segments in linear environments simply for the story to unfold and the next cut-scene to jump in. Wheres the charm of being left alone in a open space where you have to use your head to find you way back,solve puzzles, where enemies are a real threat,save points are scarce so you have to manage your ressources, back-tracking is a must and you often feel familiar in an area but new monsters/events happen. Theres NONE of that since RE4. This serie went to SHIT the second they removed tank controls and fixed cam angles.
Viewtiful joe 2 was fun but one was better than 2 in my opinion. 2 was more easier by the way. Not a problem but just thought I'd point that out if any of you planned on buying one or the other
all of their games recently released have been dissapointing and not the at the quality of past releases. Plus some of the more talented developers have left capcom.

why does the voomerang slowed down do so much damage ?
Slow and Zoom add damage to all things. So if you notice anytime they toss those or hit enemies into stuff they Slow and Zoom. By adding both you can easily do huge damage. The main thing with those is how many frames they hit. But this was also a run on Kids mode so Kids gives you more damage on top of the normal buffs.
