Digital Twin supported Structural Health Monitoring

This video uses a physical cantilever beam mounted on a Kongsberg shaker and a Photron high speed camera to visualize its structural behavior at resonance frequencies. Sine sweep functions are used to trigger the first 3 eigenmodes between 5 and 120 Hz. A FEDEM Digital Twin (DT) model is then validated and used to simulate the physical test. Virtual strain gages on the DT model is providing stress time histories from hot spots applicable to Structural Health Monitoring.
