By watching 2 Korean aesthetic cooking videos, I've learned that you can make everything into solid, chewy and soft by adding cornstarch or glutinous rice powder
I do this for myself but for those who want to do this too you can screenshot this😊 1) Egg yolk- 4 2) sugar - 40 g *mix well, swirl until it melts* 3) non-glutinous rice powder - 80 g 4) salt - 0.7 teaspoon 5) Milk - 150 ml/ white eggs 6) Melted butter - 5 g *mix it until the lumps are crushes* *turn on the gas* *Set the gas fire to medium low, stir* *when the rice cakes are united cook them evenly* *make it pretty and cut it into bite size* DONE😆
Here's the recipe in a summary • 4 eggs • 40g(3 Tbsp) of sugar • 150ml(2/3cups) of milk • 80g(2/3cups) of *non-glutenous* flour • 5g(1 tsp) of melted butter Good luck on making it~ (if you want to) ⚪Note • Using regular flour will change the texture a whole lot so keep that in mind! fun idea: if you make this, maybe add some whipped cream/icing underneath a yolk and shape it to look like a cooked egg! you can dip it afterwards, too! 💕

I've already posted this is a reply section but in case anyone is curious I made this with a mix of potato flour and cornstarch instead of rice flour and it turned out ok! :) Some people here have said that the taste is a bit reminiscent of pancake batter but if you add a few teaspoons of vanilla sugar/vanilla essence (preferably vanilla essence) it really helps! Note that it will look a bit different if you do this and not as "eggy" as if you use rice flour and a bit more pale.

but the translation is a little strange, isn't it? i checked in two languages i understand (that does *not* include Korean), to see whether that was mistranslated, but it's either intentional, or machine translated since it is similarly translated into both languages that i do understand from the available ones here. it might be a case of different humour in Korean culture, since i don't know much about it. i was just attracted and mesmerized how to cook these 🥺

Glutinous rice doesn't contain gluten, it's just a type of rice flour, there's not much difference between glutinous and non-glutinous rice, just one is stickier.
@@novaexx6587 If you have trouble finding glutinous/sweet rice flour but want to make recipes with it, you can substitute with a mix of regular rice flour and some kind of starch like tapioca flour/starch or sweet potato starch. Those are probably best, but regular potato or corn starch would work too. The texture would just be slightly different.

If anyone wants to know the calories in this, the whole loaf is approximately 730 calories, and each slice is 73. I'm not sure if that's off, but I did it according to the calories of the individual ingrediants.
To the viewers who are concerned about the recipe tasting or smelling eggy, simply use milk and avoid using egg whites. I know the recipe says you can use the whites instead of milk, but then it will smell eggy. The smell comes from the egg whites/proteins, not the yolk.
I made it and it has a really good flavor. Not eggy, was soft, and chewy. Some modifications I would recommend, though. It was a bit too sweet, maybe tone it down in the sugar if anyone else is making it. Add a bit more milk. It was a little too dry, but a little bit of milk would make it a tad bit better. The last thing, DON’T USE FLOUR. Glutinous rice powder is a must if you want to make this a rice cake. It’s what makes it a rice cake, so adding flour would make it taste way different. I really enjoyed this video! I'm not much of a chef and I didn't understand the international measurements but I eyeballed it and everything turned out great! They taste amazing but the texture is a bit grainy. Probably because I had to grind up my own rice powder to make it right. Thank you!

If anyone wants to know the calories in this, the whole loaf is approximately 730 calories, and each slice is 73. I'm not sure if that's off, but I did it according to the calories of the individual ingrediants.

To the viewers who are concerned about the recipe tasting or smelling eggy, simply use milk and avoid using egg whites. I know the recipe says you can use the whites instead of milk, but then it will smell eggy. The smell comes from the egg whites/proteins, not the yolk.

I made it and it has a really good flavor. Not eggy, was soft, and chewy. Some modifications I would recommend, though. It was a bit too sweet, maybe tone it down in the sugar if anyone else is making it. Add a bit more milk. It was a little too dry, but a little bit of milk would make it a tad bit better. The last thing, DON’T USE FLOUR. Glutinous rice powder is a must if you want to make this a rice cake. It’s what makes it a rice cake, so adding flour would make it taste way different. I really enjoyed this video! I'm not much of a chef and I didn't understand the international measurements but I eyeballed it and everything turned out great! They taste amazing but the texture is a bit grainy. Probably because I had to grind up my own rice powder to make it right. Thank you!
