Had a look on Google Earth as I was curious - the pitch has an elevation of 249 metres at one end and 244 metres at the other. A 5 metre drop over 100 metres is absolutely mental. You can zoom in to pitch-level on Google Earth and it's a proper slope!
For perspective, it's actually steeper than any section of mainline railway in the UK. Too steep for our trains - perfect for football!
It’s not a football pitch. It’s a bloody ski jump.
That's like the drop on 13 at alton towers
I laughed that Alfie couldn't grasp how they were the second oldest club but had the oldest stadium.
😂😂😂😂
Be the Orlando City mascot Kingston
@@glamrockfoxy6667 MLS shout out! It's what we have so we support it.
Mad respect to you for not editing out the part where your snot flies out of your nose. Wonderful stuff. 😊
When?

Alfie you got shafted mate! I all seriousness, I want to go here myself one day. Hallam FC and Sheffield FC should be a pilgrimage for all football fans
There should be a list of must-do football experiences in the UK. I'd vote for Arbroath at home in the middle of winter. Dark, cold, windy and the refreshing feel of the spray off the North Sea.
@@drunkenhobo8020oldham is apparently cold, can also imagine the hawthorns will be as it is surprisingly the highest ground in england (thought it would be buxton)
Away Days is the wholesome content we need more of in the world. Thanks Ellis.
So didn’t you venture into the bar where in the entrance you’d have seen a replica of the oldest football trophy in the world (the original is priceless and once featured on Antiques Roadshow so locked away) which was won by Hallam F.C
Pausing the video at 9.31 is absolutely hilarious. Incredible cinematography, a milestone in British Comedy. Bravo.
😂😂😂
You need to come to Maidenhead Uniteds York Road before we move grounds. The olldest continuously used football ground in the world by the same club. There is a lot of history and at the moment there is a lot of disagreement about the ground move and petition against the council for not allowing the move.
Alfie makes great music. Really enjoy it! Thanks for letting us know he does that.
He does!
The top goal line is in line with the bottom crossbar its so slanted, also Daniel Pudil was playing for the hammer and pincers Sunday team, which is a pub team round the corner before he played for Hallam. He played an game for them that the Hallam chairman or manager was watching (cant remember which) and was asked if he wanted to play for Hallam.
Gotta give it to Ellis he's smashed that look
😂😂
I was at the game saw ellis and left him alone 😂 that outfit looked much better in person than in the video lol
Nice to see ellis repping kings lynn town fc, big up the linnets
brilliant video, thanks for the upload as always!
10:05 the ball just keeps on rolling 🤣 some say it still rolls to this day 🤣🤣
Actually worlds oldest stand is right in your back yard in great yarmouth
My bad
Great Yarmouth Town's Wellesley Grandstand was completed in 1892. The Grade II listed structure has a brick ground floor below a timber roof and is recorded by Historic England as "possibly the earliest football grandstand surviving in England"
It's hallam fc in Sheffield
UMM actually 🤓
Most enjoyable parts of watching away days
Their trip to the stadiums
Loved this. Luca is a great player. Played for my club Swallownest last season.
Up the Hallam, only a 15 min walk from my house, been up there a few times this season
I've been watching this channel for 2/3 years now. This is possibly the best video yet (though I was hoping you'd come out with the cummerbund over your jacket). Absolutely amazing content throughout 2023, I hope the figures have reflected this
779.898 days = some 2191 years, gotta respect football
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your videos! I always look forward to your new content, and it's become a little tradition for me to bring some delicious food and enjoy it while watching your latest videos. Your content really adds to the enjoyment of my mealtime. Keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you so much :)
If you do a mascot series
gotta rate the effort coming up here for the match the number 6 brandon works at the same pub as me hes proppa sound
genuinely funny stuff... thanks for the upload
Was meant to play cricket there but it got moved to the teams second ground due to a football match, always wondered what the ground would look like. Will defo go one day and to Sheffield FC
Go on Neo química arena the stadium of Corinthians of Brasil. There it haves the best fans of Brasil
I just discovered your channel and i love it. You should visit cowdenbeath stadium in Scotland. They play in the Lowland. I dare you.
Top vid. Looks like a nice place other than being in Sheffield...
Went to Sandygate in March. Fun experience. Didn’t expect the pitch to be on that much of an incline.
2:50 finally someone who gets it!! Classical music slaps
Apparently there is an older pitch in Chapeltown near Bolton.
I’m in crosspool and watch Hallam what a atmosphere
I love a party with a happy atmosphere.....
That suit jacket is wonderful
real talk though Ellis doesn't look half bad in that fit! Like deadass he looks good even
Go to the wellsley in Great Yarmouth near Norwich it has the oldest football stand in the country
About time you visited the old football ground continuously used by the same football club. York Road, home of Maidenhead United since February 1871.
Dude the last ref was clearly smiling at your antics
beer drinking in the stands. great
Filmed a video at Sandygate at the start of last season and can say the slope is dramatic as it looks!
Ellis answered my question when he asked did his outfit make him look like he was on day release because it did have that eccentric look to it
That slope is outrageous
Love how you pronounce concert in your northern. Comes out as cUncert, lol.
Absolute CZcams heritage.
Horse and cart (A)
Numpty, that’s McCain Stadium Scarborough in your preview picture.
Bro i started using momento but i'm a Fluminense supporter from Brazil and if you count me there's only 2 supporters registered there ffs 😅 guess i'll just follow random premier league supporters
Awww you look lush xxx
Nice one
9:57 The brickwork confirms a VERY sloped pitch
Can you go to bury fc please there’s a game on Tuesday.
o estilo do futebol ingles é muito massa.
Up the wednesday!
Francis Bourgeois if he was into football and not trains.
Sheffield fc played at a pitch called the olive grove I think that is not a football ground now
Would of thought they would level out the pitch, that’s horrendous! That’s a big incline, definitely gives the advantage to the team going down hill 2nd half.
What's the app you can geolocate nearest football match?
Derbyshire better score next campaign 😂😂😂😍
Bro come to kochi in india..the home of kerala blasters in indian super league 💛
U should go the Nantwich vs Chester Game on 18/11
you should go watch the oldest football sheffield fc
Why the picture of the old main stand at the now demolished McCain Stadium? It’s certainly not the oldest ground in the world!
next you need to come to Sheffield FC
Go to a match in Northern Ireland
Nah Ellis pulls off that jacket surprisingly well
The telegraph was founded in 1855
A little sus with that sausage roll mate wink 😉
What about going to the world’s oldest ‘temporary’ stand - away end at priestfield? 😂
Pudil came to Sheffield for Wednesday and never looked back
5 meters drop wow, what a slope
Oh how I wish that stadium on the thumbnail still existed 😢
check out midlands football
Time to go the worlds hottest and coldest pitches too, would be way interesting
I really enjoyed this one. The atmosphere and the crowd age range was exceptional for a non league team. A lot of fun for all.
0:06 Very speicial indeed
Go on Zawisza Bydgoszcz match
Glorly glory Leeds united glory glory Leeds united
Fun fact: Werther's Originals were created in 1909, and only launched in the UK in 1992 (year I was born), so technically calling it candy for old people in the UK, is incorrect.
Great video, though. 👍🏻
Read this with adenoids.
Knowledge 👏
Yup. Needs to be a boiled sweet, like a humbug or an Everton mint ...
Pint of John West’s please.
9:03 Without the Jacket he looks like my Bavarian Grandpa when he was still alive
fries with gravy wut lol
Alfie looks like the guy that made that song wotsapnin
Interested to know why you used The McCain Stadium for the thumbnail?!
The alan parsons project doesn't quite have the same feel as when the 90s Chicago bulls used it...
Think there may be a slight miscalculation on the number of months and days 😂😂😂😂
Calculations on the age was waaaay off with the days 😂😂😂
“Ex Watford” didn’t wanna say Sheffield wednesday did ya 😂
If this isn't it, can you visit the UK's ground with the largest gradient?
Dressed you up like Allan Partridge lol
ellis knew he fuckrd up after reading that 2nd oldest sign🤣
“Hallam FC” literally my named after me 🤯
Need more Ed in your videos.
Ellis, I've made a football stadiums higher lower game and I'd love to see how high you can score it! Do you accept the challenge?
Surely head to the worlds most northern based football club, and the worlds most southern based football club
Sheffield has the oldest football team in the world (Sheffield FC), the oldest football stadium (Hallam FC), and both teams play in the oldest football tournament (the Rules Derby). All recognized by the FA, UEFA, and FIFA with Pele paying tribute to them multiple times. Meanwhile the University of Cambridge has a statue in a Cambridge park claiming they invented Football because obviously it was invented by toffs in top hats not those damn working class ruffians!
The forerunner of the first rules were developed at Cambridge by public school boys who all played different rules at school and wanted to play with each other.
hallam ultras
Awaydays to The oldest surviving soccer trophy is the Youdan Cup Final
4:55 into the video and just notice that Ellse has a Wonkey eye or he's having a stroke but great video mate keep your head up and keep going
Hmmm, Guinness book says 1860
ok. opened in 1804 but only friendlies until 1860
actually wrong it was a cricket stadium until 1860
Uriah Rennie ( ex football referee is the president at Hallam fc shocked you never saw him he is always there
The best you have ever dressed
For a international Away day, go Bangladesh for a bashundhara kings match 😮
Nice video 😊
