- Today I will start a new series showing different TOP 5's with race and roadcars.
The order is my personal choice, but I might make a poll for a future TOP 5.
A new video will be posted on the 5th day of every month.
Starting this off with Porsche racecars.
It was very hard chosing number 5 and 4. I was also thinking about the 908/03 and the 935 K3.

The Porsche 917 DOES have a 180° V12.
Both a Boxer engine and a 180° engine are called "flat". But there is a difference how the pistons move in a boxer and 180° engine.
FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS!!! I'm so glad to find someone who understands that not all flat engines are boxers.
For me the 917K is the best sounding engine, watch the film Le Mans 1971, when the 917 is flat out at 250mph on the Mulsan Strait, it sings!
That 991.2 RSR's downshiting is freaking amazing! Nice job!

The 917 gives me chills
There's something about the sound of a gt3 rally car being filtered through the woods that gives me goosebumps. It's like being hunted by some massive predator.
Hearing the 991 RSR (2018 and 2019) fly past on the Mulsanne at 300kph (189mph) is absolutely breathtaking

I guess any list like this is a subjective thing......but for me, the 917 K comes in at number 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1.
It's a symphony that Beethoven would have been proud of!
The shifts on the 910 at the beginning sound so good
996 GT3 RS is just incredible

911 GT3 is too shrill, and too common, order is very wrong! 917 always first
i would put the 911 gt1, 935, 908, and the 956 (or 962) as honorable mentions

917 is my favorite. Just a subtle detail that was slightly incorrect is that the 917 has a flat 12, not a v12. Just a nitpick, but otherwise great.

@@Belgian-Motorsport on a boxer engine each rod has its own crankpin on V 2 rods share one pin
I mean it is literally a flat 12, but the rods are connected to their own crank pin which is what V configured engines use. That's the only reason it and the engine in the testarossa aren't called V12s

RSR definetly the winner here. But ranking Porsche Racecars is incredibly hard.

The 917 growl that turns into a glorious blare as the revs crescendo and the staccato crackle on the over-run is unapproachable. The 908 is nearest, The water cooled high revving moderns are shrill and atonal in comparison. Personal view of course.

I think the 917 had a flat 12, not a v12
It's a 180° V12. I've explained this a million times already in the comments of my Porsche 917 video's

@@jocksavard41241 Nope in a V 12 , the opposing pistons share a crankpin, in a flat (eg BOXER) the are on separate pins. The crankshaft of a V or boxer are completely different!
