    I got my Fat Bob 114 on 2018, put into it a stage I; Vance & Hines slip-ons and use a Vance & Hines Fuelpack FP3, put some risers on the handlebar, a bung-king extension on the rear monoshock, a saddleman solo seat, and some other looks mods. it is a great bike, for medium and short rides. For long rides I recommend to purchase the backrest with the rack, a windshield, a swmotech saddle bag that comes with plenty of space, and a sissy touring bag, the gas tank is not that big. so you will have to stop twice as often as a touring bike.

      Yeah, not the greatest long distance bike. I used to ride 4 hours to see my wife when we were dating. I had to stop a couple times to either get gas, or just take a break lol.

    I have the same bike, same year, same color! Best bike I have had and I have had 8 of them. A blast to ride and its just got its own personality that sets it apart. I have made a number of upgrades to include: full exhaust, fuelpack, air cleaner, LED turn signals, mustang seats (wife friendly) pegs, grips, mirrors, wind screen, and cruise control. No plans to part with this awesome ride. Great video and ride safe.

    Sitting on and NOT buying the exact bike and colors you have here was an act of sheer willpower. Man that's a sweet bike!!!

    Thanks for posting the video. I previously owned a Dyna Super Glide and a Road Glide Custom, but currently, without one so I am shopping for a 2021 model. Trying to decide between a Fat Bob or a Low Rider S. How are the fat tires for riding? I took a Night Rod Special for a test a few years ago and the fat tire in the rear was great, so two fat tires causing any issues? From all videos I have seen, the handling of the Fat Bob is great. Like you, the Fat Bob styling from 2018 onwards was not that appealing but I think I am being converted to it! Cheers.

    • @TheMrEdmonds
      @TheMrEdmonds  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for checking out the video! The handling is amazing on the fat bob! You really don't notice the larger tires. They actually give me more confidence going into corners because of how sticky they feel. The low rider s is also an amazing option! It all depends on your riding style. Fatbob is more curvy road oriented, low rider s is more straight drag oriented. Hope this helps your decision!

    I love the 48…I have a Sportster S on order however I am in the same boat as you were…I’m gradually falling in love with the Fat Bob 114.
    Having a Fat Bob yourself and knowing of the Ss what are your thoughts?
    I fear the Ss will look too small and lack any form of HD feel and sound. But some of its technology and performance are appealing.
    I’m at a crossroads 😅😅😅

    • @TheMrEdmonds
      @TheMrEdmonds  Před 2 lety +1

      Lol I couldn't imagine having the options that are out there now when I bought my FB. The Ss seem to be HDs answer to the metric market, which has been dominant in the sport field. Honestly, without riding one, I couldn't give you an opinion. They look good is about the best I can say. And if they are anything like the FB when it first came out, the aftermarket will be lacking for a couple years

    • @TheMrEdmonds
      @TheMrEdmonds  Před 3 lety

      Thank you for watching! I got a mirror extension kit. HD sells them but I found mine elsewhere (I think ebay but its been a long time) for much cheaper. I had to do a bit of modification to the kit so it would fit. They don't make any specifically for the new soft tail models. They don't touch the tank but it is a tight fit with the turn signals.

  • @scottw550
    @scottw550 Před 3 lety +4

    I test drove one last year, really liked it, but all I could see in the mirrors were my elbows.
    It's a good idea to mount them upside down.

    • @TheMrEdmonds
      @TheMrEdmonds  Před 3 lety +1

    You spoke of the exact reason I want this bike. I'm looking for comfort and performance. For me the best part of riding is fast curvy roads. I originally started out on sport bikes. However I bought an Iron 1200 and I am now hooked on HD torque. I'm supposed to be trading the 2020 Iron in on a 2022 Fat Bob next weekend. It's a lot of money involved in the deal. I hope responsible decision making escapes me next weekend and I end up a new owner of this beast.

    • @TheMrEdmonds
      @TheMrEdmonds  Před 2 lety +1

      Heck yeah man! It's a fun bike, no doubt. And because of the "Harley Davidson" written on it, it'll hold value fairly decent. Just don't let them sell you any extra junk.

      @@TheMrEdmonds Thanks. I have set parameters I'm willing to accept from the dealer and costs I'll be refusing to pay. I have already spoke with my credit union for approval on a loan as a secondary finance option. If they can't meet my requirements I'll be riding my Sporty home. I've done a lot of work to it as it is. All LED lighting, stage one, custom grips and pegs, flush mount fuel cap, custom seat etc etc. It won't hurt me one bit to hold the sporty if I have to. I really like it. It just kills me that my skill level of riding exceeds what the sporty is capable of with the poor stock suspension and lack of lean angle dragging parts.

I don’t do many twisties, I ride around built up areas mainly, My question is can the Fat Bob replace the 48 around town and still be fun or do you think I’ll regret getting rid of the 48 ? I guess I prefer to have a bike that does everything.
    Thanks

    • @TheMrEdmonds
      @TheMrEdmonds  Před 3 lety +1

      It's all preference, really. I loved my sportster, but interstate riding wasn't very tolerable for more than a few miles with only 5 gears. If you plan to stay under 60mph all the time, stick with the 48. If you want to take longer trips (not touring) then go ahead and get the fatbob. You're having fun either way, brother!

    • @TheMrEdmonds
      @TheMrEdmonds  Před 3 lety +1

      Also, the fat bob doesn't feel much different in town from a sporty. Even though it is bigger, it's still fairly light for a HD. It does tend to want to go fast lol. I usually gear it down and cruise in town at about 3000rpm to appease the police 🙃

      how do you like the bike? Is this bike too much for a beginner? I am assuming you are a beginner since this is your first bike. Appreciate your thoughts as an owner. I mostly see mixed comments on the topic

      @@srinikmurthy The bike is perfect for a new beginner as long as you don’t hit full throttle because it’s really powerful but it handles amazingly it’s comfortable to ride the mirrors are the only issue they have a longer version for 38 bucks each that’s supposed to fix the problem for tall guys but I would recommend the bike to anyone

      Harleys have a pretty forgiving throttle. As long as you have respect for it, any bike can be a beginner bike! Ride safe boys!

    Can you share how much did you pay for the bike?

      After taxes and fees and all that, it was about 21,000 in 2018 if I remember right. I'm not sure what the new models are going for now. I bought mine in the first model year, so there wasn't much room for negotiating on the price due to a higher demand.

    Great vid. Fat Bob’s are the best. If you haven’t seen my channel yet, check it out. I’ve done quite a bit to mod my bike. I’m up in Northern Virginia and ride all over. Hopefully our paths will cross at some point.
