Andy Serkis really should've gotten an Academy Award for his motion capture and voice for Ceaser. I love Maurice's voice too. I wish he talked more throughout the trilogy.

His role as Caeser and Gollum make him legendary.

There’s a prequel book that goes into Koba’s backstory. His messed up face is from _multiple_ abusive caretakers. Blind eye is from a cigarette, scar over it is from a knife. That’s just a few things. He’s got a lot of reason to hate humans
I saw someone else point out the fact that the C4 didn’t bring down the tower as intended, barely even lead to ape deaths, so Oldman sacrificed himself for nothing 😂
Koba's backstory is even more tragic when you realize that he's a Bonobo, which in nature is one of the most peaceful of the Great Apes. His trauma was SO BAD it turned him from the most peaceful to the most violent.

Something I always loved about these movies (and I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not) but anytime Caesar wants silence he will raise his hand which was famously a thing the Roman orators would do with crowds. Julius Caesar being one of the most famous to do it.

Everthing about this movie is amazing
This is such a good movie franchise. The CGI is incredible but you almost for get you're watching CGI characters as the story writing/character development is very good. These movies have substance not just flashy CGI.
The new trilogy of Planet of the apes is completely underrated, all 3 are masterpieces.
It's highly acclaimed tho.
They age well also. And get better with each watch. I believe the Kingdom series will flesh out to be much better once we get sequels too. It will have different directors, and even have the taint of disney added in with 20th century merge, but I trust Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa's writing as they are the same writers of the Rise trilogy.

This movie is my favorite of the planet of the apes franchise. If the apes are aware and just as capable as the humans, any side could've started the war.

This whole trilogy just blows me away. Andy Serkis who plays Caesar is a genius when it comes to motion capture. I saw Rise, Dawn, War and now Kingdom at the cinema when they came out and i still watch them every two weeks. I’m just waiting for Kingdom to come on streaming and dvd then i can watch it again ..Kingdom is a great film too. Noa (Owen Teague) the protagonist is great. Noa’s character has a lot of potential and i hope we see him again. Kingdom is a slow burner that is short entirely on location in Australia with only 30 minutes of CGI in it. Dawn is a great follow up to Rise it raises the bar and War raises that bar even higher. Koba played by Toby Krebbel is a brilliant villian but you can kind of see Koba’s point of view he was tortured and scarred up all his life and learned nothing but hate and pain whereas the other side of the coin Caesar grew up in a loving home with Will and Charles so he knows humans have good and bad sides. You better stock up with tissues for watching War you’re gonna need them trust me. Thanks for the great reaction to Dawn i enjoyed it very much and i look forward to your reaction to War. I was 12 years old when I first saw this back in theaters and like you, Angelina, I too was going through all the emotions. The way how they incorporated this far into this plot line is everything and from there, we get to see both sides of the argument. The reason why this sequel is highly praised is because we saw how Caesar has become as a leader for his kind and a father for his son, Blue Eyes. We humans are too flawed to make any compromise with anyone that if we couldn’t even coexist with each other, what makes you think that they’ll coexist with the Apes? After everything that has happened over the last decade? As for them, Caesar tried so hard to prevent conflict to ensue because he knew that even when mankind are at their lowest, they’ll retaliate tenfold and won’t stop until they completely wipe out their enemy. As much as I loved this movie like so many others, I always despise the idea of adding human traits to animals, especially to the primates because they are nothing like us in any way nor should they be. Koba is the way he is because of what we have done to him and his kind. It was only through enhanced intelligence that they were able to become like us, in terms of consciousness and increased emotional capacity. Through the direction of Matt Reeves and the score provided by Michael Giacchino, we will forever have this film to be immortalized for generations to come. See you in the next installment.

2:18 - In Stephen King's "The Stand," there is ONE paragraph that truly scared me, and it was his description of how the virus, "Captain Trips," spreads around the world. I don't remember it word for word, but the impact it made on me came back to slap me around several times during 2020.
3:52 - In captivity, they live into their 30's. Considering these are pretty smart and not prone to interspecies violence, ("ape together strong"), I would guess these guys would reach the same age.
8:13 - This shot of Koba perfectly embodies his character.

the technology of motion capture was pretty much invented for this movie. the technology was groundbreaking and it's really cool to see the behind the scenes about how they did it.
This movie is amazing and always makes me a little emotional by the end because I know what's coming for the third movie

this was definitely a stronger story and better visuals. the first felt more like a test run for restarting the franchise, and after it was positively received, this one got a better budget and more scrutiny in terms of production. matt reeves did a good job with the tone and direction of the 2nd and 3rd ones
