I was 16 in 1984 and I remember I had this tiny little square practice amp the size of the cabinet of this mini Marshall. It was all kinds of solid state crap-sounding, just like this, but I could put it on the strings at the bridge and it would start to feed back, then I could start to slide it up and down the strings and get an identical sound to the motorcycle on the Motley Crue track 'Kickstart My Heart'. Ah the memories.......

Damn, that was some interesting MEGA FUZZ right at 2:20. I love it, even if it's not exactly a terribly useful metal tone!
That other micro-amp (EVH I think?) sounds similar when the front end is blasted, like a dynamic bitcrusher. Probably a combination of a very small power amp getting overloaded by the teeny preamp, which obviously behaves differently than the full sized ones and mutates the sound dramatically.

I recently got this as a gift and realized, it is a real piece of junk, but if you're into electronics at a beginner level, I explain to you how you can make it a real good little amp. First, notice out of the box, the mains plug is a core positive! Be careful, most of the adaptors are inner positive (inside pin on positive on the plug). This must be changed for sure, otherwise, you will kill your small friend at the first plugin. Then when I opened the enclosure, seen that the heart of this is an LM386-L IC. Anyways it sounds not good even at the half volume level. How this is possible? The overplaced capacitors around choke the IC of working inconvenience. My advice: throw away the full interior but save carefully the speaker, because this is the piece why this thing is worth buying. The speaker and enclosure together form a well-engineered pair and if paired with a good amp they make a good small amplifier, though. So, save the potmeters, on-off rotary switch, input, output jacks, the DC input. I also added a 3,5mm jack input. Take a brand new LM386-L, 1000uF capacitor, (in my case the tone control I made a low pass filter with a 10n cap) and put it together as found on the internet under the name of the barest minimum LM386 amplifier, with the 1000uF cap at the speaker end. The result will be amazing - tough I sacrificed the overdrive - but nice clean sound with my guitar even on full volume, no distortion, loud enough and even works with my mike with the blues harmonica and cell phone to play radio or music. With the added input I am able to jam with backing tracks from my mobile. What else? Like this, I am pleased and will be a keeper. But the original setup disappointed me. PS: Don't even think about getting more gain from the LM386 by placing the high gain capacitor in between pin 1 and 8 on the IC. this will result in a high background noise, broadcast band radio pickup and distortion. Without you will have clean and background hiss free gear with the adequate volume level.

Then I got an old Ampeg 25 watt amp from the 80s used, and that wasn't too bad. None of them chugged. It's not till the past few years that I started buying some really good smaller
amps. My Fender Mustang I v2 was my first 'decent" small amp I bought about eight years ago.

OLA I don't remember exactly how to do it, but you can mod the MS2 by removing a component or desoldering (not sure) a cable and then you can connect a cab to the headphone jack!! You could try it!!
