    I did mine in like 15 minutes or so. I got the factory system out in like 3 minutes. A few bolts and it's out. The K&N goes together super easy and it fits perfectly. I think this was the easiest install I ever did.

      Did you notice a difference in sound and performance?

    • @danielhunsinger8017
      @danielhunsinger8017 Před 2 lety

      @@mikemacinnis7169 Absolutely. The sound you can hear the engine sucking in air and the performance I dropped into the 13's from the low 14's with it in the 1/4 mile.

      Did you have any trouble with water getting in the ported hood?

    The problem with these supposed cold air intakes is this. You're now sucking in hot air from the engine compartment unless that open box marries up to a plenum under the hood connected to an air scoop. The original system actually intakes more cold air than the CAI does.

  • @happynow01
    @happynow01 Před 5 lety +3

    I like the vid... but:.I had this in for a day and removed. The design is horrible. It has a massive heat sucking hole in it.... that destroys the reason for using it. Also for some reason, made the entire intake whistle... it was horrible. I. Have added these for over 20 yrs.. countless cars... it was hard to see such poor design in a brand I love. I’m going to try another one... still, whistle is a issue I hear happens on some and not all... thanks for vid. It’s a good one.

    Is any issues with water coming in the heat extractor vent and getting into the filter?

  • @stevengonzales2238
    @stevengonzales2238 Před 4 lety

    That cap actually creates more heat and the engine is way better without it. Youll have cooler temps.

    Hey man, love the Durango. I also have a Durango R/T and live in Pittsburgh. I was just wondering how or where you got your brake calipers painted. I'm looking to get mine painted soon.

    Nice video especially you did most removal and install with one hand. The K&N filter set up look so much better than the factory. You notice a big difference?

  • @DiabloInformer
    @DiabloInformer Před 7 lety +1

    Dude I love it. Beautiful ride! I just got myself a DB Black R/T blacktop package about a month ago. Looks like the only real difference between ours is the wheels, and mine has the black interior with red accent stitching vs the red w/ black. I got the front windows tinted to match the back, and the K&N is the next thing I'm looking at doing. Great explanation of it all! Any other performance suggestions?

    • @412streetvs4
      @412streetvs4  Před 7 lety

      DiabloInformer the K&N is definitely a good add-on and it looks good. I have no idea what's next thinking about the SRT Durango but we'll see thanks for watching man. Don't buy that K&N just yet I might do a raffle and give away man to a subscriber for free!!!!!!

  • @canadianguitar-garrettont7368

    2 question would this work for a 2022 RT and what is the part number for it? also the open are where you lifted up the gasket they dont give you anything to frame that with so its not flapping around?

  • @tomfoerster7995
    @tomfoerster7995 Před 4 lety

    Did you disconnect the battery before doing this? I've read that if you disconnect you can lose the radio settings but also that the computer needs to reset to 'learn' the new airflow. Just wondering whether you did...

    Great Video. thanks for the share. Do you feel a difference with the acceleration and is there any improvement in power / torque in the real world? I have a 17 RT and looking at CAI's. Just not sure which direction to move forward. Thanks!

    • @412streetvs4
      @412streetvs4  Před 6 lety

      Fuaad Moosa thanks
      With the exhaust and the lighter rims and the K&N it feels quicker but I don't know if it feels better with just the K&N by itself.

    • @mo0sa123
      @mo0sa123 Před 6 lety +2

      cool, thanks. What rims by the way? lighter rims increase power to weight ratio for sure!

    • @412streetvs4
      @412streetvs4  Před 6 lety +1

      Fuaad Moosa the wheels do not increase horsepower they are lighter so they spin faster than a heavy rim and you can tell

    • @mo0sa123
      @mo0sa123 Před 6 lety +1

      yup, exactly what i meant. less vehicle mass definitely makes the car feel lighter and respond better against the same bench mark horsepower.

    Is there a power difference between your Durango and your charger? Even with the intake and exhaust? I'll be getting either a charger rt or Durango rt next year and I been stuck on which one would be more torky to drive any thoughts?

    • @412streetvs4
      @412streetvs4  Před 6 lety +2

      +meekmoney412 they are both great but if you have a family the Durango and if you don't the charger. Chargers are little quicker and a little funner because of the lighter weight and it's cheaper to mod the charger then the Durango. As far as me having both I feel like they're different but they have the same purpose get to a location as fast and as fun as possible lol

    • @meekmoney412
