    Bro holy shit, you need to make videos of this work, please I’m begging you I need to see that suspension be built, and that 1uz being put in. This is some amazing work. to anyone else who sees this if you have seen videos of a similar suspension setup being built on a Toyota pickup 2wd please link it below.

    Im getting into my own little red riding hood project. I have the 1uzfe and w58 trans with adapter plate. Stock ecu and wiring. Your videos are very informative. I appreciate you putting the info out there. The gate keeping in these types of swaps is ridiculous.

    I swear, your ability to home-job these epic builds is second to none. Show me one person doing this caliber of work from their garage. No shop, no lift, no nothing and on par with Skid Factory etc.

    I am doing the same swap and I was wondering what you were doing for motor mounts?

    • @yotarip
      @yotarip  Před 2 lety +1

      I make my own mounts. Just keep the oem aluminum engine bracket that’s bolted to the engine. Then cut the engine mount off the frame and weld on a piece of angle iron in the correct location to serve as the frame mount. You can use a hockey puck style isolator between the frame mount and engine mount but it’s not needed. The 1uz is so smooth that there will be no vibration at all. You can bolt the engine mount directly to the frame mount.

    What did you do to your front suspension? Do I need to do something custom to my front suspension to get the 1uz to fit
    84 pickup 2wd.

    • @yotarip
      @yotarip  Před 2 lety +1

      You will need the oil pan from the sc400 to clear the steering draglink.
      You will also need the sc400 exhaust manifolds. They are the only manifolds that will clear the upper control arms.

    • @mw3180
      @mw3180 Před 2 lety

      @@yotarip sounds about right, rear/mid sump. I have 3uz headers which are log style just to mock up. Just was curious kept getting told I needed to do a custom coil setup on the front and rack and pinion for space.

    • @yotarip
      @yotarip  Před 2 lety +1

      @@mw3180 Custom suspension is not necessary. I ran stock suspension and steering gear box with my 1uz swap. The sc400 oil pan is a rear sump and the ls430 oil pan is slightly more forward. I found that out when I used a ls430 oil pan in my mk3 Supra. It had less crossmember clearance than the sc400 pan. I would not use the ls430 pan in the mini truck because the sc400 pan only clears the draglink by an 1/8 of an inch. No room to spare.

    • @mw3180
      @mw3180 Před 2 lety

      @@yotarip I see, do you think it’s enough to not clear? I can’t find an SC pan anywhere but I have a guy local willing to trade gs430 pan for my front.

    • @yotarip
      @yotarip  Před 2 lety

      @@mw3180 have you seen the gs430 oil pan? The gs400 oil pan is a front sump. I’d assume the gs430 is also.
      However I would still do the trade because the gs400 oil pan (and maybe gs430) is sectioned in the rear of the metal section. The draglink would be behind the oil pan like the ls400 pan but the sectioned part will give you more room for the drag link. You should try it since it’s basically free. It’ll definitely fit better than the ls400 pan.

  • @97neon2dr
    @97neon2dr Před 2 lety

    When you put the 3uz into the mk3 supra did it originally come out of a sc430? Did you have to swap to a rear sump pan? Any major obstacles? Im looking to do this swap soon my 7mge is getting tired

    • @yotarip
      @yotarip  Před 2 lety +1

      The sc430 has a front sump pan which will not work on the Supra. I’m running a rear sump from a sc400. No major obstacles over than swapping the original brake booster with a smaller one from a 96-98 Toyota Tacoma. It only fits when installed upside down but it works just fine.

    • @yotarip
      @yotarip  Před 2 lety +1

      @@97neon2dr No. Only the sc400 manifolds work.
      Both my 3uz swaps are running 1uz vvti ecu and harness. This allows me to use the cable actuated throttle body from the 1uz vvti also. You can see the throttle body in the videos
