Also, at the time, there weren't many late teenage/early 20's girl groups, and competition as a solo act was fierce. She would've been going up against Aaliyah, Monica, Brandy, Mya, Faith Evans and more. 90s Beyonce (and Kelly) seemed pretty shy too.
The original group were actually friends (LeToya and LaTavia seemed tight, while Beyonce and Kelly were cousins and pretty much sisters), but Daddy Knowles' BS (along with other things) got in the way of friendship.
To finish my essay, I think they were better as a group than Beyonce would've been as a solo act, especially shy 90s Beyonce
