Blackwood is an Acasia like it's cousin Koa.Makes a great top too.I have a "fiddle back"blackwood pickguard on my Gibson S1. Tasmania is about the same size as England (not G.B.) and is situated south of mainland Australia. Peaceful and prosperous. Cheers.

Tasmanian Blackwood and Koa are in the Acacia family of trees, so they are cousins. Their tonal qualities are very similar too. I have a Tasmanian Blackwood 2009 Taylor 414 ce Ltd. and it is a sweet sounding guitar. Taylor liked this wood so much they have made it part of their standard available woods for their 300 series guitars. Nice playing!
Super tasty guitar and equally tasty playing dude. Brandon sneaks a heck of a lot of skill, touch & technique into this.

In my opinion, NOTHING sounds better than a Martin!!! I just wish I could afford one. I played a new D-45 one time and I was in heaven. The $8000 price tag was pretty steep for me.
I lust after this guitar! Absolutely beautiful and beautiful sound brought out by your guitarist. Wow. So far I have a Martin D18 which I thoroughly enjoy but some day I will also have something like this one.

Stunning. I have a 2002 Martin D42, but damn that guitar is very special.
I have a Maton acoustic with Blackwood back and sides with Cedar top. After hearing what you said about the rareness of this wood I feel lucky to own this guitar.
Quite simply a beautiful Martin and Brandon’s playing is likewise lovely. Flat top Friday always does it for me. ✌🏼

I live in Tasmania 😊 we have blackwood here everywhere as well as a lot more rare exotic timbers. Tasmania is bigger than most think. Beautiful part of the world ❤

To clarify, Tasmanian blackwood is a close cousin to Koa. Contrary to the name, Tasmanian blackwood grows all over Australia. It is often figured but not always. Even the non-figured variety looks fantastic. It is not in the least rare

Wow.. So we're about 13 minutes into this video and about 15 minutes ago I thought I was a Guitar player. Lol I now must question everything I thought was real.. LOL Such incredible playing!! (And just for the Record I'm actually a Bass Player who loves to strum and play Rhythm guitar. Haha ) Amazing video!! 🤘

The initial piece is called "Sons de carrilhões" by João Pernambuco. I'm used to play it but on a D-35 instead.

A delight to hear Brandon play, a treat that lemmo is away, variety is the spice of life...nice martin a rare bird looks exclusive sounds inspiring. New mix - blues eternal on the Cat channel incidentally. I have never enjoyed being sold something a cannot afford so much but listening is v cool anyway. Martin - American legend Brandon - Pro. Lemmo is too much in demand these days...the Cat (for Channel see top) Acoustics have a lovely sound in small rooms until you bang the headstock - word to the wise in the US of A...regards.meow.

Can you talk a bit about the action on this guitar as most Martin's come out of the factory a bit on the high side. This looks like it might have already beed worked on. You play great and the guitar sounds wonderful.
