This has got to be the best review of anything I've ever seen. Great job man, and thanks for showing so much detail and consistency across the reviewed items.
Best review. You put these guys through their paces, in different situations and thats awesome. This is the kind of mic testing we need from ALL reviewers!
Bandrew, you give me chills when you speak into the camera mic. It was awesome. And the review was so blue. :P
Wow man thanks for doing all these practical side-by-sides
Excellent coverage for so many use cases
FINALLY i have found a decent comparison video of these three mics! You really did a great job with this video. Thank you!
Podcastage is the best reviewing channel that i've seen. I love you man.
This channel is ridiculously underrated. Seriously, the best channel for consistently, reliable reviews on recording tech. There is seriously none better and you deserve a lot more attention than you get. You deserve *millions* of subs and I am not one to just say that all willy nilly. You really do deserve that much 👍
Ramu-Ushi aka Rai STRONGLY AGREE!
Ramu-Ushi aka Rai you ain’t lying
honestly the cheapest on sounds the best to me imo
Bear Sound and looks the best
Best *
Yeah 4 podcast but if youre doing music the baby bottle and bird sounded better
Yup ✌️✌️😅
Why can’t everyone be this thorough when doing review comparisons? Great stuff. Preciate you.
you sing so well
Thanks, I started with a spark then got a blue bird and just purchased a baby bottle. I can't wait to try it out!
I've been around audio a long time and your reviews are spot on. I always feel good about myself when I watch one of these and my logic is aligned with yours. You have mastered the short format video. It's long enough to be incredibly in depth. The pace is quick but not too fast. All the info is meat and not fat. Plus a dash of humor. They are perfect. Don't go changing! :)
I always feel good when people who work in the field share their experiences that lines up with mine. Thank you for sharing Edward.
This is how the mic review should be.. Great Job!!
You are def correct! I love how you did this video.. I put in the search "compare Blue Spark and Blue Baby Bottle" and this came up.. Its exactly what I was looking for and you really helped me! Blue should give you commission on my purchase!!
Blue is not a fan of me. Haha. I've criticized them for promoting the Blue Yeti as a podcast mic. =)
@@Podcastage Hey, I saw you had a positive review of the Blue Yeti that was 4 years old. Have your thoughts changed at all and is there a huge improvement in upgrading to a 150-200 dollar (USD) XLR Microphone?
I have a Spark (the orange/red one with the hi-end button) and a Baby Bottle. And just as you explained - the spark works great for guitars. The Baby Bottle is great for vocals. I love these mics. They sound fantastic and the look and feel very cool.
You my friend are awesome. There is no better way to review mics than THIS.
Excellent reviews, while I wouldn't buy any of these particular microphones personally it is because these reviews enable me to make an informed decision and that is the highest praise.
Great video! All the testes were awesome and gave me a better idea of what mic I'm looking for. Thank you!
Excellent review, thanks so much! The acoustic guitar sounded amazing on the Bluebird to me... It was surprising how good the smallest one sounded but if you listen really closely I think I heard more distortion.
Guys we aren't giving enough credit to this guy's musicality 🔥🔥Bandrew those last chord on the Baby Bottle...amazing🔥🔥
You said every thought I had. That was crazy
Great review. I own a Bluebird and love it. I agree on the baby bottle for vocals but the bluebird sounded the best on the electric guitar to me.Even though it totally makes sense to do the review Direct input, I think all 3 mics are pretty decent and when used for vocals with a mic preamp/ compression and or parametric eq, they will all sound great for each of their price brackets.
Thanks for the demo! Very helpful
You’re great man, best reviews 👌👌👌
After learning more about analog microphones over the past 2 years, I seriously can't stand USB microphones anymore, haha. I'm going with either a Bluebird or a Baby Bottle. I've used Blue before, so I can trust them.
Thanks for the comparison. Huge help.
The Baby Bottle is GREAT.
It SOUNDS great. I'll be setting that up, along with the Scarlet, in a future episode of one of my tech shows. I'll be sure to give your channel a plug.
My first mic was a behringer xm8500...after that i stumbeled upon the blue ember. The ember is such a great mic. I never touched the yeti at all...i only use xlr based mics. The next mic may be the at2035 for sure and a blue spark
the spark isnt bad at all , it holds its own tbh
@@ComputerClan use ID 14 Mkii. It has industrial level sound.
I love this video so much. Now i know what i want to buy. I love spark & babybottle
I know very little about mics but do know tone so was pleasantly surprised to find I was in total agreement with your ranking. Vocals were best on Blue Bottle but since I play acoustic and do not sing so found the Bluebird best for my requirements.
Completely agree with your selection. However I'm a bit surprised you chose the one you did - I've watched a LOT of your previous reviews and you seem to choose much brighter sounding mics in the past.
Thank you for this video. I've been thinking between the spark and bluebird for days to start my beginner home recording setup. I paused and considered my own thoughts before the end of the video and I kinda felt the electric guitar got slightly muddy on the baby bottle, but it shines on vocals with a hair of extra clarity. The spark and bluebird were extremely identical throughout and seemed to be more jack-of-all-trades mics whereas the baby bottle is more purpose built. Thanks to this video I'm thinking the spark is what I'm looking for as a novice to recording and maybe move to having more specific-use mics later on down the line.
I love my baby's bottle I went through many mics before finding this baby 🙈such a warm sound
Thank you for your thoughts. I was hard-pressed to hear any significant difference amongst the mics.
Me either.. therefore the Spark is the best for me as it is the cheapest lol
straight forward no bullshit comparison, almost didn't watch. now subbed
I have a Bluebird and love it. Good review.
I love it when you tell us how things sound from behind...😂
Thanks for the upload, friend. I'm rebuilding my studio after selling it some time ago and I'm on a budget this time around. I'm trying to recapture the warmth in my vocals that I had with my TLM 102 and after hearing a comparison between the baby bottle and the TLM 102 plus your recommendation for people who are focusing on vocals the choice is obvious. Thanks again. Cheers.
Thank you for this!
I only can afford the Blue Spark SL but I really liked it for everything! I think I'll be totally satisfied :)
How do you like the spark??? I'm leaning towards buying that as well because its the cheapest of the three lol. I sing & play guitar & uke.
Was looking for a new vocal mic after using a Neumann U87 in a studio the other day. I can't spend that much but had heard some great stuff about the Baby Bottle. For acoustic I will never change out my SM82. Loooove that mic on acoustic. :)
I agree, Baby Bottle SL triumphed, next is Spark SL.
Can you compare these 3 and add Blue Ember???
Personally I think the blue bird sounded way better recording the electric guitar than the spark
Kudos to the little one for being the best at repelling plosives
Love how he played the basic pop punk chord progression for the acoustic guitar demo. I started automatically singing:
Fate fell short this time, you're smile fades in the summer,
Place your hand in mine, I'll leave when I wanna...
I prefer the Spark. But I'm gonna subscribe anyway :)
To me the Spark and Baby Bottle had similar sounds, however the Baby Bottle was a bit more pronounced in its tone. The Bluebird just sounded like it was missing something, it was almost like at certain ranges it just went flat and kinda muddy. I will say that my hearing is kind of bad (years of loud music and working in shops without hearing protection) so I realize I might have a whole different experience than other people with the mic sounds, but that is my opinion on the but I would say given the similarity in sound I would go for the Spark....if I could afford it of course LOL.
Great video bro thanks for the help.
Awesome Review, Thanks
You’re welcome. Thank you for watching.
Spark was best for me especially on electric guitar
I really liked the Baby Bottle's texture with the instruments, it sounded fuller. That's probably due to the lack of rejection from the rear, allowing the fullness of the instrument's sound to be presented in an organic way. Perhaps if there were some sound treatment on the microphone to prevent sounds from reaching the rear of the capsule, I would feel differently about the quality of the sound.
Spark XL and Baby Bottle. I get what you say about the Baby Bottle but I also hear more midrange muddiness. I think it all depends on the voice and your preference. I think I'd have to get both!
Thank you so much for this very informative video. I loved every bits of it!
4:50 ahahaahhah gr8 song!
Haha. Thank you very much.
Great content. Very likeable dude. Keep it up.
That really means a lot. Thank you!
the blue bird was amazing when used on electric !
Very Good! Very clear explanations as usual. What about Ribbon Mics?
Yeah the Baby Bottle SL is definitely the best choice for vocals. It's the only Blue mic I've seriously considered without approaching Neumann level price territory.
lol they all sound the same to me :P
@@billkillernicif everything sounds the same, it usually means your referencing system is severely re-coloring your playback experience. (Bose, Sony, and KRK are awful about this)
@@artivationmedia bs snakeoil mombo jumbo and even if that was true to any practical degree (because sure there is variance between speakers etc but not in a degree where completely different sounds come to sound similar and here is the line that differentiates facts from snakeoil) it still doesnt matter since a huge reason to by a mic is to produce what you record to the public and if the public cant tell the difference what would you care? (
@@artivationmedia Or he's legally deaf xD jk
Please make a video about the best microphone for podcasting thank you 😊
Even from the phone they are so different. I prefer the definition on close vocals on the spark, electric guitar with blue, acoustic and far vocals with baby bottle.
I love the baby bottle it sounds so much better to me. But I have the bluebird and that works very good too
wow i love the baby bottle def spending the extra bucks for that one!
Excellent review.
Thank for watching and for the kind words Jim.
Your almost at 100k subs remember me I've been here since 7k
DragoFTW 20k subs to go till that mark, what do you think he's pewdiepie?
Having owned the original Bluebird and Spark, and having heard the Baby Blue Bottle, I think your evaluation is pretty spot on. The Baby Blue Bottle has girth and mass-and less sibilance. I'd say a go to mic for certain singers, but not all. I dig my Bluebird. The Spark can be a problem solver. It works well on almost everything ( wouldn't grab it for kick drum, but...). They are all capable, very high quality microphones. One can make records with these microphones.
I'm stuck between getting the bluebird or the spark. It sounds like the spark is best for vocals but the bluebird is best for instrumentals & i do both! The baby bottle is great but a bit too pricey for me unfortunately lol. Would you say the two are decently similar?
What do the buttons on the Blue Spark SL do?
convinced me to consider the baby botte since i am starting to do youtube stuff with vocals
Thanks for the comment Mr Awesome. I hope you are able to make an informed decision on which mic is right for you. Best of luck on the CZcams videos.
@@Podcastage lmao didnt expect a response on a 5 year old video
Bluebird has a nasty upper mid boost compared to the other mics. It’s a very ill-advised frequency to boost, much lower than the ‘presence’ band typical of vocal-optimized condenser mics, and sounds like the 2.5kHz area often dipped even on flatter mics for vocal use. It’s hard to think of any use for the Bluebird.
I’m occasionally asked for advice regarding Blue mics. Thanks so much for doing the work. I’ll refer all requests to you.
You really notice the clarity jump from the spark so to the baby bottle
If I'd use the mics to record electric guitar for me the Bluebird sounded the nicest for that. But for the acoustic and singing I would go the Baby Bottle route. But that's just my opinion.
선택하는데 도움이 됐습니다 감사합니다
I’m getting the blue baby bottle
But I kind want the spark SL
hello nice comparison, what do you think? is better baby bottle or Rode NT1 for vocal male ?
I would use all three.
I realy like all of you`re video reviews! Can you make review for Superlux E205 or some Superlux Mics
I would like to subscribe to the channel to encourage me to continue the videos of psychological comfort
awesome ! entertaining and educational vid! thanks ...def most crisp is bluebird sl 300$
Amazing review, When you where speaking I personlly could not tell much of a difference. And I just found a used Spark for cheap, and it sounded great in this video so I might just get it, even tough what I want is the Shure SM7B, but I can't find it for cheap because they always get sold so fast on the used market where I live, and not on the cheap either. I think the Spark should be more than plenty for my needs, I have been using a cheap XLR mic for years now, like litterly 5 USD and I mean, its not terrible, not for that price, with a good audio interface its in fact pretty decent, but I want a bit more than decent :P
I did my own research on the " Blue Baby Bottle" before I found our "Space alien" professional review. OK, I was Blown away when I heard his result on the Blue Baby Bottle, That finding is EXACTLEY what I had predetermined for my choice of voice mic, Wow!, I guess He is my Brother from a different Mother?- Hey- EXCELLENT review for this Sacramento Earthling.
Would you recommend this for classical guitar?
Bluebirdは楽器の時に音が前面に出てきてくれる、Babybottleはボーカルの時に温かみと太さがある
やはり1本のマイクで全てを補うのは難しいのだと改めて思った
Hie, great job as always, but may be one day a test of Aukey MI-U1 or MI-U2 , I don t know if they are clones of BC Master 1635USB or 1610USB. Hoping can be see this test soon, good luck.
I needed this video lol
I use the Bluebird for guitar only " Heavy Rock" along with an SM-57 I get very good sound. I took about a week to get the placement right. Oh using a Mesa Boogie Fillmore 25.
i had a blue sl before and i hated it. i was running through a scarlett focus rite but it still sounded horrendous and wasnt loud at all. what was i doing wrong?
kinda feel like the baby bottle shows the LEAST proximity effect. Just curious, any experience with Blue Dragonfly? Thumb up for your videos! Very clear and well-organized!
What about the older versions versus the newer versions
spark has never once let me down :P
Please create a versus series between rode nt1 and nt-1 a. Please use the AI-1 audio interface also if you can! thanks!!
Best Channel for Mic Reviews EZ Blue Baby Bottle Agreed
singing: what will the best mic be ... lala :) realy nice test, i have the Blue SL and i like it, but i agree, for speech the Baby Bottle SL seemed to sound nicer, warmer and richer somehow
I think the bluebird sounded best. Had good fullness and warmth while still achieving some brightness.
For singing and playing the guitar, would y'all use the Blue Spark SL or Blue Baby Bottle SL?
hey! what do you think? is better Blue spark or Rode NT1?
Rode NT1. That's one of my favorite condensers under $500
no useless bullshit and straight to the point video, SUBBED!
any chance you will be reviewing the KSM32?
Hi
what is the difference between the Blue Baby Bottle & Blue Baby Bottle SL?
Can you mount these on Rode PSA-1 ?
I just have two quick questions I hope someone can answer.
Does the Blue Spark have gain control?
And would I be just fine using a Blue Icicle to power this thing or do I need something more dedicated like a scarlett? I wouldn’t use absolutely any of the features of the Scarlett so that’s why I’m asking if the Icicle would be enough
I’m stuck between whether I should get the blue bird or the baby bottle for rap vocals
The baby bottle sounded better on the acoustic guitar but I preferred the others on electric
Blue has done a great job with these mics, you don't feel like you're being cheated on quality at any price point. Nice review 👍
To me, the Bluebird sounds the best on electric guitar, and acoustic guitar, while the blue baby bottle sounds best on vocals. About to get this mic for vocals on my first album I am working on!
you should review some lewitt microphones
