This happened to my late Jewish father who was a lawyer. He was very successful in corporate law, and back home, he couldn’t belong, and nor could we kids, because we were Jews.
He later won some big law award, and the event was held at the country club and he refused to go there to accept the award. I was never so proud of my father.
