Adding brass bow ties to a wood cookie to stabilize the cracks

I bought these brass bow ties from a company I found on Google called Rogue Machine. The cookie is from the clients house - they asked me to flatten it and stabilize the cracks. There are many ways to accomplish this, but this is how I do it.
The finish is from Rustic Lumber. It’s a great hard wax - easy to mix and use. I like to use his measuring spoons I bought from the dollar store. If they get messed up, I don’t really care but they’re all so easy to clean and reuse.
