  • MAZDA NOT STARTING OR RUNNING GOOD AFTER CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT
    If you have Mazda and you replace the crankshaft position sensor and the car does not start or the car is not running good and is misfiring we will show you what causes that and how to fix it. You may even get engine light on and codes that relate to timing being over retarted or timing being advanced. We demonstrated why Mazda may not start or run good after crankshaft position sensor replacement on Mazda CX-7 but it should work on multiple Mazda engines and models.

    Good video to let you know what your in for. Not too difficult but things are more difficult when the engine is in the car. You cant easily see the teeth when the engine is on the car. I rotated the crank until i saw the gap. counted back 10 and made a mark. Turned again and counted 10 of the mark for 20. You can then see the mark when you align over the sensor.

    • @AltruisticWarrior
      @AltruisticWarrior Před 28 dny +1

      Absolutely can. So can the camshaft position sensor. More likely than not though it's just the coil packs. They're prone to going bad on these because of the way they're designed. Can get 4 brand new Bosch ones from Rockauto for roughly 90 bucks. They have a lifetime warranty as well! They're far more reliable than the ones you can get at autozone or oriellys. Those never last me more than a year or so and even then I've had some have small hardly detectable misfires brand new. Made for BAD gas mileage though. I was down to nearly 10mpg

    if you were the one putting on that harmonic balancer and the new timing chain and you did it that way you might be wrong because top dead center could have been on an exhaust stroke..you need to look at the position of the cams also to make sure it's a compression stroke top dead center not an exhaust stroke

I took out the spark plugs and they where smashed in 1st and second cylinder only. 3rd and 4th were ok. • @randyloveday9220
      @randyloveday9220 Před 4 lety +1

      It is an interference engine. While the spark plug itself can't make contact with the piston, the valves will, if the camshafts aren't held in position. There is a tool to hold them in time. One or even both valves can get bent and broken off inside the combustion chamber. If the valve then gets caught between piston and spark plug area, you will then have smashed plug.

      Yes and TDC is the small hole in crank pulley to thread in front cover.
      That’s enough to set TDC when you’ve not undone crank pully

    THIS is not correct .
    He is totaly wrong .WHAT happens if YOU DON'T have THE tool
    .
    HOW can YOU do that with THE axle on .
    YOU sre not HELPING anybody.
    People the new sensor comes with THE correct position and yo will remove THAT piece after YOU install the sensor
    The engine pulley has a timing precision on the bottom of THE pulley.
    The VIDEO shows a engine outside not on the vehicle.
    GOOD luck
