The level design team has done such an amazing work indeed. very detailed and very similar to the referenced locations.

Reality has better lightning, textures, ao, and reflections. But it also has way less gameplay features, like no respawn, fast travel or autosave

@@hindswowling2150 But if you try to attack a nearby npc, an enemy called Security will show up. And if you manage to beat the Security and attack more npcs, a unique type of enemy called Police will show up. They drop good weapons but are tough and usually come in group of 2 or more.

I genuinely got lost in some comparisons about what was real life and what was the game, I didn't imagine that this game was so photorealistic until I saw it side by side with real life, my God!
The graphics are insane, finished the game and mindblown of how smooth it is considering every new AAA are broken at launch.
It’s about as close to a 1:1 representation as you could possibly get with an AAA video game in 2023.
I can’t even begin to imagine the kind of absolute psychos Dambuster hired for their environment design team.

I lived in L.A. for 2 years from 2017-2019. When the first small earthquake hit at the beginning of the game in Bel-air I was like “ok that’s surprisingly realistic” also Bruno’s character design… holy crap like 80% of people in L.A. look just like that. Like…creepy hipster clones or something.

But yeah a LOT of people in L.A. looked like that and they all wanted to promote their SoundCloud and they would buy things like pens and lighters in bulk from convenience stores to slap labels on and resell to “promote their brand”
What a fun video! So well done! Having already spent many long hours playing Dead Island 2 (I’ve platinum’ed it on 5 different PSN accounts already, and am working on 3 more - I have multiple PSN accounts specifically because I enjoy re-playing my favorite games from scratch), but don’t have much real life experience with these locations. I have been to a few of them briefly, and spent a long day enjoying Santa Monica beach and pier a few months ago. On a side note: I paid 40.00 for an all-day unlimited ride pass, specifically ONLY to ride the Ferris Wheel (nothing else) only to discover that I’d been screwed. The ticket booth didn’t warn me that they won’t let a single person (I was there alone) ride by himself, nor will they pair you up with someone. I waited in a long line only to be told this and sent back to the beginning of the line, where I had to ask complete strangers if I could ride with them, which took about 25 minutes because about 30 people told me no, or pretended they hadn’t even heard me ask, until someone finally reluctantly said yes, making the ride uncomfortable and awkward for both of us, and making that the one and only time I got to ride it because I wasn’t about to stand there begging random strangers for a half hour just to ride again.

a very good job from the game team on that, a really incredible job indeed. And i know how it can be VERY hard sometime to make something as a COPY of its real counterpart but different at the same time, with some tiny modifications here and there, real nice.

no sean tampoco exagerados.. en pausa o modo foto cualquier juego se va a ver bien.. ya a la hora de ver las animaciones de los jugadores/zombies es donde se nota que aun estamos lejos del realismo.

Funny thing is that I’ve been to every single place in this video except for the Beverly Hills hotel. I’m from Los Angeles California by the way and been doing Uber and door dash for 3 years and that’s why I’ve been all over these areas. I love my California no matter what haters say!

The textures on Reality are a little soft. I prefer the slight sharpening on Dead Island. Other than that they look about the same
yeah i've been playing reality for 13 years and i prefer dead island. reality is just missing that zombie effect that dead island gives.
Venice Beach and Santa Monica both look super realistic in Dead Island 2, I always keep coming back there and kill zombies there only because how amazing it looks
