I wanna make friends, too 😥. My (now ex)husband and I moved up here in our early 20's with two babies, leaving all of our friends and family behind. He stayed home while I worked. He didn't have a chance to meet people, and everyone I met my age was going out and partying. Luckily, I made one truly amazing friend, but we still live vastly different lives. I ache for someone nearby to just chill with, run errands, go on a walk, grab coffee...anything. I know you have your awesome mom, but I honestly teared up for you when Ashley moved away. Hopefully you made some good close to home connections at the brunch. If nothing else, ya dipped your toe in the water!
I ask myself this question often. I moved to a new city in my early 30's , I can not tell you how hard it was to find even one friend to do things with or chat with. I have a three children, two of witch are grown and living their best life but my youngest child was born with DS so he is my best friend. Not complaining, just wish I knew the secret to making good friends.
Making friends is so hard. Even when you have friends making plans with them is so hard since everyone has their own life. Maybe I see a friend and so something with them once every 3 months is so hard having a grown up life
As a millenial - well I like to say an 80's baby - I can definitely relate. Making friends, as an adult, is a challenge. I suppose we just have less opportunities to form those connections, organically, like we did as kids. Remember those days? It was so easy! As an adult, it takes initiation, commitment, and the right alignment of the moon and stars - Ha! Glad you had a good time in Chicago - my hometown!

I just turned 30 this year and I feel like I don't even know how to talk to people to try to make friends 🤣 For the wallpaper, I like 2 or 3 but I worry about the print being a little big and overwhelming with 2. Also I love seeing the crafts that you all do!! 😁
My grandpa worked for the railroad (physical labor) for 36 years and is in better shape than most of our family lol. He is 70 and has a prosthetic leg and still moves great and in great shape!

It is hard making friends. I just asked my two best friends this year. Sometimes it’s hard to accept the place people gives you in their lives but sometimes it’s for the better even if it hurts.
I think I like 2 and 5. The smaller the design the busier it’s going to look. I agree with the a smaller towel rack. Maybe some solid black(can have a textured print) hand towels would also look nice. For the light fixture something with a glass cylinder and black accent would make everything look cohesive. This all assuming you go with a wall paper with a black back ground. If it’s blue then blue hand towels with gold accents would work better. Whatever you decide to go with I’m excited to see it. I’ve concluded maybe I’ve been watching one too many home improvement shows lol.🛁🙂

Hi Sarah, I'm glad to be here. I believe that having a small, close-knit group of loyal friends is a real blessing. However, when I attend my boys' school activities and birthday parties, I find it challenging to engage in meaningful conversations with other adults. Often, these conversations tend to be superficial and only last for about 15 minutes, which is a shame. I don't know but it might be me but I can for sure share that I do try to make new friends. The good news is I am happy anyway...should I try harder? Be blessed everyone, Yana!

It's very hard to find friends! I believe for me what the past traumas were with friends growing up made me want to stay away from relationships. But now my son is 18 and he is out and about doing his thing I want a friend or two to talk with, shop with, coffee with, so on. The friends I had years ago have smaller kids and have families just starting so even if I wanted to contact them....they are busy. I am in a suburb of Chicago...so come on let's hang!!!!

It is hard making friends. All my current friends are girls I knew from childhood 😂 I think it's because I'm rarely around other adults (4 kids and I work from home) and it's hard meeting people, especially people I vibe with. Personally, I like the first wallpaper pattern. Also my grandpa had a physical job. He got so bored he decorates everything outside for every holiday. And he bought a second house to fix up to rent it out for something to do. He got hit by a car last year on his scooter though. He can't move the same and is in constant pain and is angry now that he can't move like he could before. We how after another surgery he can get some of his life back

With so many great universities in this area, people come from all over the world and move on to the next chapter in their life. In Los Angeles, CA making friends is easy but here I've struck out.
You had trust issues when giving up some of your duties w work. Sharing your life w other then family is also a trust issue. Networking like this adventure will help. Its definitely a struggle to make friends as an adult, especially if you work from home or have an untraditional job, because you don't have contact with people your age on a regular basis. Its hard for you because you have kids and you spend more time with your family than anything, im the same way. I work from home and i don't have alot of contact with other people other than my coworkers and my family. I do have a few friends but we don't see each other alot because some of them live in different cities and states etc. So when you go to a social situation with people your age its awkward because you have nothing to do talk about lol so i totally get what you're saying.

It is very difficult to make friends. I am child free unlike some of my friends and I also moved away from my hometown. So now I don’t really see anyone except a couple friends I play dnd with. But all my friends who have kids, that’s their lives. So I feel rude to be like “yo let’s hang out” knowing they are super busy. So I just don’t mention it. I’m also a second shifter where everyone else is on first shift. My life is opposite of everyone else’s. And most of my friends don’t really have the same interests I do anymore. And I don’t really go anywhere to meet people my age. I’m a homebody lol Also I’m currently watching Rosanne for the first time with my boyfriend so at the end I got all excited when I heard the theme song lol

I am full time work from home for an ins company and I have no friends other than colleagues that I never actually talk to face-to-face because they live in other states, it makes me sad but I’m so socially awkward I have no idea how to go about approaching people (even other moms at school; I have no idea what to do with myself 😩)
They make pillows for your sacrum! They’re different from the doughnuts. I have a lot of pelvis and sacrum/tailbone issues and my physical therapist said that might help me.

And he bought a second house to fix up to rent it out for something to do. He got hit by a car last year on his scooter though. He can't move the same and is in constant pain and is angry now that he can't move like he could before. We how after another surgery he can get some of his life back

I can't imagine you having a hard time making friends. I usually don't have a problem making friends But I myself am having trouble making friends in the S.F. Bay Area (East Bay) but I think it's the location and demographics being a college town. With so many great universities in this area, people come from all over the world and move on to the next chapter in their life. In Los Angeles, CA making friends is easy but here I've struck out.
You had trust issues when giving up some of your duties w work. Sharing your life w other then family is also a trust issue. Networking like this adventure will help. Who knows what will come out of it. You have a family closeness many don't have and your close friend Ashley (though far away) is a gift. Work on networking. It will all work out. ❤❤❤

Yes i agree about the physical labor job bc my uncle was a brick layer his whole adult life and is now retired and he still moves through life like he has a full time job.

Its definitely a struggle to make friends as an adult, especially if you work from home or have an untraditional job, because you don't have contact with people your age on a regular basis. Its hard for you because you have kids and you spend more time with your family than anything, im the same way. I work from home and i don't have alot of contact with other people other than my coworkers and my family. I do have a few friends but we don't see each other alot because some of them live in different cities and states etc. So when you go to a social situation with people your age its awkward because you have nothing to do talk about lol so i totally get what you're saying.

It is very difficult to make friends. I am child free unlike some of my friends and I also moved away from my hometown. So now I don’t really see anyone except a couple friends I play dnd with. But all my friends who have kids, that’s their lives. So I feel rude to be like “yo let’s hang out” knowing they are super busy. So I just don’t mention it. I’m also a second shifter where everyone else is on first shift. My life is opposite of everyone else’s. And most of my friends don’t really have the same interests I do anymore. And I don’t really go anywhere to meet people my age. I’m a homebody lol
Also I’m currently watching Rosanne for the first time with my boyfriend so at the end I got all excited when I heard the theme song lol

Yes it’s very difficult to find good friends at 30s … I literally don’t have any lol but at the same time sometimes ppl bring unexpected unnecessary drama so sometimes being with no friends is more peaceful lol
I am full time work from home for an ins company and I have no friends other than colleagues that I never actually talk to face-to-face because they live in other states, it makes me sad but I’m so socially awkward I have no idea how to go about approaching people (even other moms at school; I have no idea what to do with myself 😩)
