Boy does that clay soldiers mod bring back memories. That was the first mod I ever installed when I started playing minecraft on 1.5 or 1.6
That was the one mod that I literally always wanted to get but was too young and dumb to understand how to download.

What is lilypad ? Can you tell me more about it ?
I'm noticing a lot of return to these older versions. I never got to play Minecraft during this time period, so it's really interesting to see all of this stuff. I joined Minecraft in 1.5, so I never saw any of the beta builds in their heyday.
One of my best friends older brothers played Minecraft back in the infdev days and we would always sit and watch. Eventually alpha came around and we'd always play at his place. Around the release of beta I convinced my mom to buy it for me (for 5$ back then haha).
I love minecraft still, but it's different now. It's a better game, but a far worse sandbox. The magic of old minecraft is that it wasn't really a game, there's no end to it. It was a base to build upon. Minecraft lost that magic for me the moment they started adding the End.
Seeing 1.7.3 get the recognition it deserves for being the last version to really allow this level of freedom is so satisfying to me.
@@jassie138 It's interesting to me, seeing people prefer the old times. I guess I'm just too used to how things are now.
I can see what you mean by a better sandbox, creative limitations and all that, but I don't think I could go back before creative and the wide block palette we have now.
Not that that means it's an invalid opinion, it's just not one I really hold.

This pack is truly what brings memories back. Me, 9yo, sitting in front of pc and wondering why my twillight forest portal didnt work, when I just installed the mod and didnt put it in the "mods" folder.
I have figured how to install mods properly when I turned 13, before that I mainly played Mineplex (it was a thing back then!)

This hit me in the nostalgia so hard. I remember the technic launcher and playing on these versions on Tekkit and Hexxit this is so beautiful

as someone who plays lots of golden age minecraft and has played almost no mods i am hyped to overdose on this pack

This is a great pack, one thing i would love to see added is the an option to play on the pack.png seed in the world creator
I never play lower version (always above 1.16 except when I have to play bedwars ) of minecraft now I am going to play thank you very much

I love this minecraft. Today's minecraft is different. Beta had this different atmosphere. I don't know if this is the graphics or the world generation, but it makes old minecraft feels magical

All the classic mods! this is so cool! I had no idea the Herobrine mod and twilight forest went all the way back to beta. I'd be especially curious to see how the twilight forest looks.

I would REALLY like to see some servers with these mods, I remember using BuildCraft when I was younger, this whole video was really nostalgic!
We hope to get them ready in the future! New update coming this month will add more single player features. I suppose once weâve ironed out all the mod bugs we can work on multiplayer ports for sure!

My favorite mod from when i was a kid was evil Minecraft for 1.2.5. From quality of life updates, to new mobs and structures, to a whole class system, it added so much cool stuff. Itâs just a shame you canât download it anymore.

I started playing in 1.14, so a lot of this is new to me, but it somehow feels nostalgic. Maybe it's because I saw some of my friends playing Minecraft at this time?
Possibly! I started in Beta 1.3 but itâs quite refreshing to have a way to play it old school again, so working on this has been quite fun. đ

We can give multiplayer a go in the future! Lots of stuff needs porting, but we could probably do it - or swap to a new API that modification station is working on in the future. đ

@@VIRTUALESENCE i think aethermp is more stable than the original aether thatts why it uses it but many mods in this pack dont have a mp port sadly if youd like to a play a Aether multiplayer server with some other mods as well join Aethelis

Are there any guides for these old versions of these mods? I'd like to try all the mods out in my singleplayer but I don't know where to start with technic. Aether is simple enough since I watched Tobuscus videos of the mod back in the beta days, but all the other mods are ones I was never able to play before. Any help/pointers to get me started would be awesome and appreciated.

hey! i really enjoy this lil modpack you created, been playing a lot of it recently. the only downer is that there's no sound? i followed the instructions and everything (old minecraft launcher method) and there's absolutely no sound at all. could you help me out?
Hmm, maybe try the MultiMC method? Sometimes the retro one can be strange so that may be the case. Hopefully that fixes it

is mcpatcher support planned? i added to my instance and i think theres a conflict cause textures only render correctly in menus

Is it possible to play this modpack in multiplayer? Ive ran into trouble in the past with trying to get b1.7.3 aether running on servers :/
I originally saw minecraft back in november 2009 from my dads, friends, kid and his friend, they both showed me the indev (not inf), and I lost the game name until 2011 a day or 2 after they released beta 1.8.
I wonder if someone will compile a pack of all the adventure maps that were popular during that time

Did you reprogram these mods by yourself or did you actually spent hours over hours finding beta 1.7.3 versions of all of them over decade-old website archives?
Bits of both! Many of the mods were never originally compatible, and some of them had a lot of bugs which we've been fixing in the recent June update, and upcoming August update!
Lots of time and attention to detail putting it together over the years đ
