The great Bobby Charlton, one of the greatest Manchester United players ever, never once had a bad word to say about Liverpool. In fact he only ever had the greatest respect for them off the field even though they were his biggest rival on it. I think that’s an example we could all take lead from. I'm a Celtic fan from Glasgow but lived & worked in Manchester for the past 23 years.
What you said there just compelled me to comment. I genuinely don't think enough is made of the fact Liverpool & Manchester United - the 2 jewels of English football - are not owned by either a petro - state or an Oligarch.
I'm not naively thinking yous are owned by a loveable old fan like Jack Walker at Blackburn in the 90s etc, I get that the Glazers & now Ineos are in it for the money & are very wealthy in their own rights - I'll caveat that by saying Jim Ratcliffe is obviously a Utd fan which is great - and FSG are a big American company again ultimately looking for a profit BUT & it's an important but, they haven't done what Chelsea did under Abramovic or PSG, City & to a lesser extent - thus far - Newcastle United have done under the Gulf Petro-states and that's simply buy success, by that I mean totally schew the global transfer market, pay wages & transfer fees that are not concomitant with either the history of the respective clubs or with football either in that country or globally. These clubs were able to attract players that would never have went to those clubs but fir the exorbitant wages on offer. The selling clubs would never have sold to them but fir the transfer fees that were way over market value.
Those clubs have basically ruined world football. All of a sudden major European clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, the Milan clubs etc couldn't afford to keep pace & before you know it you get the Super League.
That all stems from the arms race kick started by Abramovic then supercharged by the rise of the nation state clubs.
I know United came very close to being snapped up by the Qatari government or Royal family.... I'm so so glad they didn't. United & Liverpool are - like Celtic - institutions. They transcend normal football, those 3 clubs are part of a folklore that no other club in the UK has & very few worldwide has. Jock Stein. Matt Busby. Bill Shankly. 3 Scottish managers at those 3 clubs invented what we called modern football.
Clubs like that don't sell our souls to people with blood on their hands. We don't sell our stadiums name for a few quid.
Our fans would rebel. I know for a fact Celtic fans would never alow it. I remember Man Utd fans rebelled & won when Magner & Mcmanus tried to sell the club to Rupert Murdoch & Sky. I hope & believe they'd do the same again if necessary as would - I believe - Liverpool fans.
English football has sold so much of its soul since the advent of the Premier league but I was heartened to see the resistance to the Super league from the fans.
Liverpool & United have to resist selling out.
We might not have the money in Scottish football but we still have our soul and the atmosphere.
Liverpool & United deserve praise for maintaining theirs 🍀

I was a young 13 years old watching it with my older brother and his friends who were MU fans and they mercilessly gave it me during the match , especially when they went ahead but, all these years later you realise that's its the love of football which transcends rivalries and petty hatreds. We can be rivals and still respect all things we have in a common. A rich history built from ground up not with oil money.

This is why it's so difficult to build a stadium that holds 70k or more without losing intimacy which is so powerful for football. Camp Nou, Murrayfield and the new Wembley are perfect examples of stadiums with no intimacy and therefore little atmosphere!

This Stadium has a lot of potential & can be one of the best stadium in Europe if not the world with the original design cos it has character & authentic with the potential capacity of at least 90K, all it needs is an refurbished & some TLC.

I'm a Liverpool fan but have been to Old Trafford quite a few times.
    Here are my thoughts:-
1)Old Trafford should def be commended for its size, and the spaciousness of its environs.
2)You have absolutely awful owners... even worse than LFC's.
3)I don't hate Man Utd as a club. However a section of the fans (often middle class professionals) are absolutely vile with their Hboro taunts.
I have been an LFC fan since Ronnie Whelan was a player. I know for a fact LFC would never do Munich taunts in that era... because Ronnie's uncle died in the Munich crash.
4)I was never a fan of Ferguson for the way he behaved. V successful but I wouldn't have been happy with him as LFC manager.
4)Old Tr is looking a bit dated now. But the primary focus should be capacity. Not some glitzy undersized place like Spurs. Stadiums should exist for fans, not the corps who don't even bother to watch the match.

The "you can't say X, Y, Z about because" is a disgusting and fallacious technique crafted to control narratives, stop using it, second stop creating strawmen arguments as if you know what a die hard gooner is, tip we're all just average equally flawed Humans like everyone else, no different, no worse, no better.
