Wardruna - Gibu (lyrics)

Gibu with the correct and complete lyrics (Old Norse en short fragment by Gaahl in modern Norse) with Dutch translation.
Gibu, met de correcte en volledige tekst in oud-Noors en een kort stuk in modern Noors door Gaahl (hij herhaalt vers 42, de eerste vers in dit lied van Wardruna).
Hávamál, the "Sayings of the High One", is a collection of early mediëval pagan poems. The first 79 stanzas contain the so-called Gestaþáttr, the "part of (the) Guest". This mysterious Guest who visits and gives advice to a landlord and lady is ofcourse the god Odin, who always wanders out and about, often disguised. The core of the Hávamál is about gathering Wisdom, in all it's aspects.
Stanzas 42 to 47, which are sung here, contain advise about good and bad friends; and that company is a gift.
Gibu (written as X) is a rune which means the letter G and has also a deeper meaning, which is "Gift". This song means to capture part of that deeper meaning.
