Angela, I never thought in a million years that I would get excited about an embroidery machine race, lol, This was pretty cool and the music during the race was fantastic, MELCO should used this video as part of a TV Ad Campaign (paying you the big bucks of course) as you made the embroidery machine race fun and interesting to watch! It was nice to finally meet Todd as well. Roman always steals the show, he's such a cutie!

    Hey,
Thanks for this video! I am in the UK and now want the Melco! It is hard to find
    Few questions:
1 - Does your supplier do international shipments?
2- Does Melco have the Camera system like the brother? How is alignment like with camera system?
Honestly I was actually going tomorrow to buy the 10 needle but this really changed my mind! I always knew brother did not meet their promise with stitches per minute. Thanks again for such informative videos!

  • @petersiliekrause2203

Thanks so much for this comparison!
When it comes to noise: Which one is more quiet?
When it comes to hooping: Does any of these machines cope better with hooped hoodies for adults, than the other, like: things getting less bunched up against the machine body, so that you would actually have to baby-sit one model all the time?
What about threading? Any of these easier to thread than the other?
And last question: Are they all full-metal built?

The Husqvarna viking claims to do 800 stitches per minute and I like that i can connect my laptop straight to it and can modify things as I go and not have to use a USB drive but changing threads so often kinda sucks. I'm wondering if I get a brother or a melco if I can set it up like one one of those standing desks so I can raise or lower it. I use a wheelchair so thinking I would need to lower it to change the threads colors right?

Excellent Video!!!!! But I wonder why she did the comparison between the Melco and the two 6-needle machines when she had a 10-Needle Brother machine? After all, you want to compare the nearest competitors in terms of specs to see how they perform, and clearly, the two 6-needle machines were the underdogs, and performed as such. Still, I am more for the Melco due to the networking capability despite running Windows. Can the software run in a Mac Book Pro running Rosetta-2? And congratulations, you have lovely and beautiful children, just like you!!!

If the 10 needle only has a 1000 speed limit, it doesn't matter which machine she used during the test.

@@tonyavanveldhuizen3276 Sorry to say but yes it does, because switching from a 6 needle to a 10 needle one, the speed of the color/needle switching changes. I have seen that with some multi-needle machine from Brother and Babylock, the 10-needle one being faster. Why is that? I don't know, maybe is the software, or maybe is the motor, but it happens very frequently, and the heads move faster in 10 needles. And I saw at a Sewing warehouse two Melco machines that had different speeds, the 16 needle being faster in this regard than the 10 needle Melco. It is not the stitching speed that slows down the machine, but the change of color. And in any testing, you always want to compare the items that are nearest in characteristics. That is standard.

Considering the Babylock Alliance single needle but wondering the difference between it and the Brother PE800 and any other single needle machine. . Does it require a manual change of thread as the design warrants? For example if the designs uses four colors do I have to stop and rethreaded the needle as in the brother 800. Will appreciate your input, thank you.

Hi Evelyn! Yes the Alliance still requires you to change the color just as a PE800 would. The biggest change between a PE800 and a alliance would be not having to babysit the machine while it embroiders. Which is the biggest draw and which is why I got it. NOW if you are considering getting the alliance look at the price. You should not pay more than $4500 for it and if you do then you might as well get a multi needle. Also with brother and baby lock they usually offer the 0% interest for 60 months so look into it!

The Melco representative that I spoke with didn't like the fact I was looking for things similar to the Ricoma.
Doesn't matter if Melco is made in Thailand Ricoma is made in China and Avance is made in Japan these machines are still made in different parts of Asia.
It's a huge red flag for me being a US citizen living in the US I prefer American made machinery especially if I'm going to be paying $15,000 or more for one of these machines.
Ricoma has a machine that has 12 heads and it is $60,000 but Melco with four of their machines you're going to be over $60,000.
Ricoma is more affordable than Avance and Melco this is only for a single head and Ricoma offers more needles than Avance and Melco.
As a business owner I have to do my due diligence I'm not just going to purchase an expensive piece of equipment just because of rep told me to. It's not like any of these reps are using the equipment themselves I worked in telemarketing everything is all about sales.
And unfortunately I have come across a lot of companies that only care about selling you something instead of listening to you. The representative that I spoke with had the audacity to email me saying that she needs to get four new people on board that sounds like desperation.
It also sounds like these reps are working off of commission as well because , I can buy six or seven traditional sewing machine for around the same price.
You have to do a lot of research when you are buying expensive equipment and sometimes it's not easy especially when people can I see videos of it operating.
