If you do Industrial Zone track backward, it's very easy to lead the car right behind you to hit the side corner of the street; only within 10 sec after the race starts. It's so fun to watch that happen over and over again. Alps is the other one: watching all AI sliding on the snowy road.
I played it on Linux with wine - system wine 4.0 (a newer version will be fine as well I assume), 32 bit bottle, windows 98 compatibility, no dxvk, no esync, delete/rename gimme.dll and start 3DSetup so that it detects your video card and records some registries. If it doesnt work, then you have to edit the registries by hand. I changed everything to high in the settings, at the start of the playthrough. I only turned off lens flare, cuz I didnt want it and played in a 4:3 resolution, cuz otherwise the sun and the gauges get distorted. Otherwise, yes you can play it in 16:9, there were a couple of options. There was an option even for 5:4, if I remember correctly. Good Luck!

@@user-pp2bn1sy3d I dont know. If I had to guess, raise the resolution, but I doubt you played it on a high resolution on that machine. You also played on a 4:3 monitor and here the desktop resolution is switched to 4:3, usually 800x600, so that the game appears fullscreen on a 16:9 monitor and then you can further twist things by changing the game's resolution. If there is some other setting that can improve the visuals, I'm unaware of it.
