That was a blunder from the attackers, we talked about it right after the game ended. Their units were tired and winded while mine were fresh, they didnt rest so i waited for them to come near the stairs where i had full advantage with the downhill charge and the fatigue
This is what i've been talking about with the chariots as soon as the attackers see them everything starts focusing on that single unit, shield walls, hoplite walls, pila, archers, formations everything. Thats when u attack other sides, cav gets into the archers outside, my general kills a lone unit outside of the walls and i break the middle breach units that gotten in. I also used so much pila on the units that were reforming trying not to die to chariots, as well as the pontic swordsmen that were in combat at that time, they got so many kills on the units fighting chariots... So losing the 1380 chariot unit with 48kills seems really bad at first but i would say it served its purpose of causing chaos and creating space

The final fight at the stairs was one the best finishes I've seen in a while. Awesome battle even tho the horde bois had it rough at the start.
