BTW dog hair removal tip! A damp sponge , wiped hair into balls and ez to remove from there. Ive had a malamute mix and Shepard. Hair is brutal. And My van is built! Test driving alot to get acquainted with part time van life. I just subscribed! Happy safe journeys my friend❤️
Hi 👋🏽 Alison, I think that it is good that you are going to do van life on a part-time basis. Finally after waiting for over a year I will be able to go and pick up my van. I won't be able to be gone for months at a time because I have to take care of my elderly mother. I am thankful that I have help. I will be living in the van with my cat 🐈, since I will be there everyday helping her. Take care of yourself 🙏🏽

I remember in one of your videos you talked about how you would go walk around cemeteries and look at some of the really cool monuments. I started doing that and I got to tell you, R you try it it’s very peaceful, very surreal.

You can’t get rid of it! When SHTF for real for real you have something ready to bug out in. I’ve been prepping my SUV the last month getting it ready. I’m going to stealth camp in some neighborhoods soon to test it out. You never know when you’ll need to just get up and go at a moments notice and never look back or not be able to look back.

Dog hair hack: a silicone oven mitt! Seriously changed my life. Rub it in circles over the carpet/upholstery and the hair bunches right up and easy to remove.

I just came across your videos and I love them.. love your content … what a wonderful memory of you and your dad building it.. I just lost my dad on Dec 3rd and he wasn’t the type of guy that spent time with his family. I don’t have anything to remember him by, no projects together, no spending time at a park when I was a kid, no visits to my games in HS. I just hold on to memories when he was sick and was taking care of him. Cherish those memories.
By the way.. i noticed you are also a Christian.. what a beautiful way to follow the path, you travel by faith, love and you make that time to reflect.. honestly after experiencing this could you ever go back to “regular life” ?

I absolutely love traveling in my Mini Van. There is no other way I would like to travel. However, no way I would want to live in it. I have so much respect for those that can. I have to know where I am going to sleep at night.

Allison, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. And, the lifestyle you have doesn't have to be something you are married too either. It can be a little of this, a part of that. I thought that as an adult, I was grown and done evolving. As I approached 60, boy, was I wrong! I had no idea that there was a completely different level(s) left to live. I'm talking mentally and, sadly, physically, but also spiritually too. I have places to go, people to meet, things to learn. :) I can tell you are doing some deep soul-searching and praying on this. With that, I trust that you will do just fine!! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us all. You are an inspiration. XO

Dog or cat hair I couldn't stand in such a small space but almost all the van lifers I follow have a pet. Good luck with your choices ahead.

Perhaps you should have a lil bit of both. Normalcy + Nomadic living = a balanced Sharpe individual 😉.
I saw in Nikki Delventhal's van build out, that they installed a mini split AC in her van's back doors. Probably also a super fan in her ceiling. Robin at Creativity RV finally found a good RV mattress co. Probably marine in nature, since the RV manufacturers typically make low end products at hi end prices.

I think you're making a good decision going back on the road part-time. I think that the full-time pressure of continuous videos while having a "travel snacks" theme was burning you out. I'm hoping that you've had a healing time and can enjoy your travels without pressure. I would suggest keeping the faith and dropping the junk food. You may feel better if you eat only one or two meals a day without snacking, and avoid becoming a diabetic as you get older. Thanks for your channel and wishing you the best in life!
