- Is it right to give a boyfriend or girlfriend spousal privileges? Are there even things in a relationship that you should save exclusively for your spouse? If you think they are, what difference does it make if you hold back or you don't?

Honestly, I couldn't agree more!! with all you've said. However, when I don't want to give too much of myself away or just do some things to an extent, he complains bitterly, gets upset and tells me how much of a terrible girlfriend and potential wife material I am. Then guilt and emotions set in. I've told him this reason too but he doesn't care.
His major stance is, whatever you exhibit now, is what you will offer in marriage. So if I give 40% now, it means he would get only 40% in marriage and he doesn't want that.
October Sounds like he is blackmailing you emotionally! I'm willing to bet that even he doesn't believe that 40% theory he's telling you.
I'm with Yemilove1 on this one. It sounds a lot like manipulation to me. The fact that he's not willing to meet you half way or respect your wishes isn't a good sign at all. Because the truth is you could reluctantly give the 100% that he wants you to give and he could still end the relationship for some absurd reason. Give the situation some serious thought. Look ahead a few months from now and ask yourself if you'll be happy if things continue the way they're going. If not, you may need to make some changes. I'd say have a conversation with him about it but he doesn't sound like the type who listens. All the best.

Don't listen to this guy. My boyfriend of last year got all the husband privileges because I already saw him as my husband. Out of a number of men I have come across he was the first man I saw as my husband. The first time he saw me told his brothers that he has found his wife and he treated me as his wife. This year he is my husband and I am his wife and we get all of this privileges for life. The statement don't buy the cow when you can get the milk for free is just the most objectifying bullshit that mostly ever comes from the mouth of sexist Nigeria men like that IK idiot that preys on the desperateness and singledom of Nigerian women. They really do have a stick up their ass offering unsolicited advice as though they are the ideal marriage or dream relationship as they take pictures for the magazine and instagram. In hindsight, their marriages and relationships are very undesirable and nothing to write home about.
Cooking, cleaning, laundry can be done by the maid..
Wife and Maid are not equivalent
