I feel like when people anticipate so long off a pilot, then to hear a different voice in the show, its a shock and they tend to immediately dislike it. Myself, i didnt watch the pilot until like 4 episodes in, so I ONLY knew this voice as Angel Dust and the "original" doesn't fit to me. This one is PERFECT.
At least he didn’t try to do the actual track, the acoustic version sounds hard enough to keep up with the tempo. The actual instrumentals would ruin anyone’s voice live

The Fact that angel in a way created a safe space for me to actually cry and remember traumas that have been forgotten. The fact he made me realize that it is trauma no matter what form it is or what has happened. Blake Roman really did a great job voicing a character millions can connect too.…the way the actor himself made a safe space for others as well even if he’s not playing angel in the moment.

I finally got around to watching a few days ago - it really is a great song, performed phenomenally, and it’s also just really uncomfortable, which I think is part of the point. I was cringing and curling up so much during that sequence that my husband asked me if I was okay. 😅 It resonated, is all I’ll say.

I watched both the Japanese and English versions (including the pilot version). It was wonderful. The Japanese pilot version certainly had a big difference. Still, I was impressed by how well they both fit Angel. And in the English pilot version, I didn't notice much of a difference. Maybe it's just that I don't understand the difference because I'm Japanese, but I don't think there's much of a difference. Even if you feel different and are uncomfortable with it, if you are a fan of Hazbin Hotel, including myself, shouldn't you accept it? That's what a fan is. It is important to express your opinion from time to time, but excessive criticism cannot be considered an opinion. It's a stupid thing to do because you lack calmness and can't control your emotions. At first, I didn't like this. AT ALL... but then I realized something. This isn't supposed to be Angel specifically. This performance is supposed to be the man BEHIND Angel, unadulterated, real, and true. When I realized that, I came to the same consensus I had when this song first came out. I think this song has a lot to do with the writer as well. Fizarelli's story (helluva boss) has echoes of the same story. Not sure what the author has been through, but these stories scream firsthand experience of oneself or a loved one going through an abusive relationship.
And also, WOW.. the ending is definitely one of the most tragic parts of a song I've ever heard, sang with such emotion and heart, the lyrics are just devastating and his performance elevates it to the highest form of devastation... this man deserves a Tony award for that!! And I actually think this live performance sounds even better than the one in HH! I love your art, Viz, I love Helluva and Hazbin; I watch it so often, my partner, (who also loves your work), has now begun to put headphones on when I watch, because it's too much for him. lol. Helluva has been such a comfort show for me the last few years especially, as I'm sure it is for so many people. I'm an artist and a singer, and the talent here ALONE holds me captive. And all that was already more than enough! But then, I did a double take at the venue sign behind Blake, and realized he is singing in the first bar I ever sang in; the cabaret bar my mother sang in for decades before she had me, and then brought me to perform with her, like handing off a beautiful, bawdy torch with a sparkling microphone dripped in glass crystals in the center; a keepsake I haven't even seen in years. But then clicked on this video, and there was Blake, singing into that keepsake so passionately. Thank you so, so much.

I haven't seen any comments that are actually critical, but I'd like to take this opportunity to share my opinion. I watched both the Japanese and English versions (including the pilot version). It was wonderful. The Japanese pilot version certainly had a big difference. Still, I was impressed by how well they both fit Angel.
And in the English pilot version, I didn't notice much of a difference. Maybe it's just that I don't understand the difference because I'm Japanese, but I don't think there's much of a difference. Even if you feel different and are uncomfortable with it, if you are a fan of Hazbin Hotel, including myself, shouldn't you accept it? That's what a fan is. It is important to express your opinion from time to time, but excessive criticism cannot be considered an opinion. It's a stupid thing to do because you lack calmness and can't control your emotions. Lastly, I love his voice, the voice in the pilot version, the voices of all countries, and I love the voice actors themselves. Each of them has their own charm and respect. This applies to everything, not just the voice actors of Angel Dust. Season 1 of Prime Anime has ended, but let's eagerly wait for Hazbin Hotel's future activities as a wonderful "fan"! 😊

I think this song has a lot to do with the writer as well. Fizarelli's story (helluva boss) has echoes of the same story. Not sure what the author has been through, but these stories scream firsthand experience of oneself or a loved one going through an abusive relationship.
The moment he stars singing "I know youre poison!" it feels like a beat drop! So nice!
And also, WOW.. the ending is definitely one of the most tragic parts of a song I've ever heard, sang with such emotion and heart, the lyrics are just devastating and his performance elevates it to the highest form of devastation... this man deserves a Tony award for that!! And I actually think this live performance sounds even better than the one in HH! Just INCREDIBLE job Roman, you're going places and you deserve every single thing you have and will earn in the future!! Love u so much babe!!!❤❤❤

I don't usually comment, I'm a pretty silent subscriber, but I just had to: this is so surreal to me. I love your art, Viz, I love Helluva and Hazbin; I watch it so often, my partner, (who also loves your work), has now begun to put headphones on when I watch, because it's too much for him. lol. Helluva has been such a comfort show for me the last few years especially, as I'm sure it is for so many people. I'm an artist and a singer, and the talent here ALONE holds me captive. And all that was already more than enough! But then, I did a double take at the venue sign behind Blake, and realized he is singing in the first bar I ever sang in; the cabaret bar my mother sang in for decades before she had me, and then brought me to perform with her, like handing off a beautiful, bawdy torch with a sparkling microphone dripped in glass crystals in the center; a keepsake I haven't even seen in years. But then clicked on this video, and there was Blake, singing into that keepsake so passionately.
