Today I'm chillin' with Truc, who's showing me all the wildest fruit we can find in Vietnam!
I would love to see that as well! up!
Trevor is in Hanoi at the moment
It's super annoying to watch his shows if you are Asian. His Chinese accent and his use of words are so off. And dear lord, he is a food host, but all he can say is 'this has sesame taste' or 'tai hao le' which means very good.
My wife and I were one of his earliest subscribers but have since unsubscribed.
Best Ever Food Review Show keep it up! im enjoying your show.
I was referring to Trevor James btw. And that's why, Sonny my man, is the best. Dude speaks perfect Korean and uses it for good purpose. Trevor James, literally has only 3 Chinese words in his dictionary 'tai hao le'
You can boil the jackfruit seeds and eat them. That's what my country does
You can also pan fry them like nuts. And make paste out of them. Uae them as vegetables in gravy. It tastes good too
In India to we even burn it with charcoal and eat
yeah vietnamese do so too
In Bangladesh we burn and boiled both.
chakkakuru 😀
Wow man, your content is amazing. I was sleeping on this channel for a while but no more. Really looking forward to watching your channel explode!!!
Thanks man! I don't know if you remember, but I hit you up on facebook a few months ago asking your opinion on Cambodia. I'm still up for a collab whenever we get in the same city. I'll be in Guangzhou in a week.
You should have your own TV show lol. These are so good.
Always love ur channel 😘😘😘
But u should try SARAWAK food traditional food ure gonna love it ...and our culture the most friendly.
alwayss welcome you to come ...😊
Been watching him sense it started and sonny's humor and brightness has gotten bigger and bigger as he's gotten more comfortable and it makes me happy. Definitely the most unique and best food review show
Same. I have been subscribed for a long time but rarely actually watched the episodes. Now I have been binge watching for 3 days 🤣
That jack fruit is actually rather small! The ones we used to have can easily be 5-6X of that (in Kerala, India)! And a few different flavors and textures also! Miss them badly here!
goofybits
It is True. We have similar sized Jackfruits in Konkan (Maharashtra) too
@@nikhilpatil2967 he is right. Come to my home i can show you jack fruit weighing more than 25KG 😂
Very common in kerala.
@@FunNGaming I am also confirming the same. His name includes "none". That might have caused confusion 😅😂
yeah the fruit is small then malaysia
Eda malayali
The Jackfruit seeds are edible too! Boiled or roasted they taste much like chestnuts.
Durian smells like rotting onions, but the taste is sweet and creamy.
If you boil the seeds and remove the outer covering of seed and mixing it with potato adding spices you can make pickle from it. In my country Nepal, we eat it like that.
Sonny, you are so local and I absolutely love it. You squat, love durian, so the last test is being able to stop your scooter when it starts raining, pull out the rain poncho from your scooter and put it on and then put your helmet back on in 8 seconds flat :-)
Ever since I came across this youtube channel, I have been addicted! This is the most professional amateur show i have ever seen. If I did not know better, I would have thought it was professionally produced by a major TV company. Man you are amazing and I hope that you continue to do what you are doing. Your show is amazing and is better than Bizarre Foods, Anthony Bourdain, and all the other guys who have big budgets. You are absolutely talented!!!!
I had a jackfruit for the 1st time last week and it tasted somewhere between a mango, orange and pineapple but not intense flavors like those 3 fruits. Quite mild and absolutely moreish and texture similar to lychees. Maybe the creator made it so big to fit all those fruits in.
Jackfruit has to be tree-ripened and then further ripened after picked to get a good level of sweetness. It's very important to pick a good one and then wait until the best moment to cut it. The one they showed is actually a very small one.
She is so cute, she should have her own CZcams channel!
Just being cute isn't enough to get famous
@@abhinavneoharysvarma8551 haahaah
I have to repeat this point. The girl is cute.

may I know the song that is used in this intro? thankyou and keep entertaining !!
I never knew that these fruits are considered crazy fruits. I've been eating those since childhood.
Wow. This is such a simple and pleasant fruit-tasting tour. No dramatization, no animations, just simple, straight to the point, and interesting video.
Even if it did that, you are very judgemental and nobody needs that 💩
This is the best ever food review show!

You're the first non-asian person I know who can sit and squat like that! Way to go! :)
yup. hard to see btw..
Chi Tran ummmmm Slavs are the OGs when it comes to squatting like that
My favorite fruits are Jackfruits, Like who love Jackfruits 😍😍
eating the seeds leads to a lot of gas and we end up becoming a fart machine... otherwise its very tasty
I LUV IT
It's called in india Katthal and Katar..

Its like durian tho in malay its called cempedak yeah...
I love jackfruit! The seeds too.....
D Uzuboro same here we use the seeds to make it into curry with chicken at times
@@meemvlogs7461 sounds yummy!😋with green-red chillies....

Jackfruit is one of my favorites... just ripened and eat..not cooked . I have the trees in my yard. Along with alot of the others I've seen on here
This girl should be a regular in the show
man seeing rambutan makes me so happy, I remember when I lived in Sri Lanka my grandpa used to bring a load of rambutan in a huge bag every weekend. Those are the best memories I have of him he was a good man. may he rest in piece.
OF COURSE.. PIECE..NO PROBLEM
This was a nice video about fruit ,I hooked up ur video thanks for sharing.
As an asian, I REALLY LOVE ALL OF THESE FRUITS!
ayo same
This man needs more subscribers!
You should be in tv sir. :). . Your food review are always in normal people's perspective which is really nice hahaha
the seeds of jackfruit can also be eaten
Wow, I have actually had all of those here in the US though I did have to travel to a good Chinatown, the local Asian Markets in my town rarely carry any of those. But I gotta say they were FAR fresher when I was in Viet Nam. And the mangosteens here in the US are very hard to come by only available for a couple weeks and sooooo much more expensive. The bag you showed us would have been over $25 in NYC or Boston. There is a trick to finding ones that don't have many seeds in them. If you look at the little clover flower shape on the bottom, that will give you an idea of how many wedge/pods are inside. The fewer pedals the bigger the pods and yep they have seeds. Lots of pedals, the smaller the pods and no seeds. Oh, and the Dragon Fruit. How much did you eat of the red variety? There are a couple other varieties that inside are pink or white. My first experience with the red type scared the heck out of me, it'll turn you pee and poo red. I was so afraid something was wrong with me till I remembered eating one earlier in the day. lol.
That was fun. Love the co-host.
Fantastic that you love durian and not vomit or spit it out like the other rude youtubers! Respect!!
IDK what it is. It's not like I'm trying to be tough for the camera. I actually like it. Maybe other people interpret the smell differently.
IMO that is because they are not accustomed to the smell. Like you need to smell some pretty disgusting things before you can tolerate Durian smell. When I was young, I would hide in my room when a durian was opened inside the house but now, 17 years later, I will devour it like there is no tomorrow.
If you like Vietnamese Durian, imagine how much more you will like Malaysian Durian. You probably skipped Mangosteen a little too fast. It's a great great fruit, extremely sweet and juicy. Please give it another chance.
if you can tolerate the smell of durian, it's actually a very tasty fruit, if one can handle the durian smell, they'll love it, it's kind of a "DNA things" you either love it or hate it
Jiggly Puff yes because its rude not to like what you like right... repect i guess
You guys should have eaten the Custard Apple. It was right there!
Was stationed in Japan for over 2 years and we pulled into Thailand on one of our deployments. It was there I was introduced to mangosteens and they are awesome. I also learned they eat mango's while they are still hard and green and dip the pieces in chili powder.
Yup, green mangos are usually way sour than the ripe one. Even thinking about it makes my mouth water.
I always end up circling back to this video. The intro hits some nostalgia notes man
I love dragon fruit! It’s so beautiful and it tastes like a dull sweet candy, just beautiful
Yo! Your Asian squat game is on point! Transformation complete.
hahaha that's what I noticed too!
Wow its really tempting for me since I am a big fruit lover.I was jst luring to have a bite of each of these.😗
She's so cute and sweet. Gosh.. Im in love..
I mean the fruit
Lol

Only fitting that the king of food reviews eats the king of fruits
I like your comment, absolutely spot on.
I like this guy very much. He is funny and keep people entertaining along with food information.
I have tried the 2nd and 1st ones on the list, I love them both.
Just a suggestion.......gather all the seeds of the jackfruit then boil in water (with a little bit of salt for added flavor) until cooked. They taste nice.
nick carl good idea. She told me about that too.
be prepared for some seriously deadly fart after you eat the seeds tho
in the philippines we cook jackfruit like vegetables
omg i do that too! Has a nutty starchy taste
nick carl vegetarians in vn cook jackfruits.
4:52 "my God, you look like a mother bird trying to feed her young" hahaha his reaction tho xD
I actually once ate Jackfruit the fruit version when I visited Bangalore and it was awesome my favourite too, I didn't knew that it has a fruit in it I mean the name itself says because i live there are some different types of jack fruit and we make a sabzi out of it
Haven't seen or eat a Custard Apple in a while 🤤🤤 seeing it brings back memories.
DURIAN is taken from the word DURI, which means THORN. Then added with the additive -an into DURIAN (
something thorny, thats why the fruit called DURIAN). As well as RAMBUTAN, taken from the word RAMBUT, which means HAIR and then added with the additive -an into RAMBUTAN (because the fruit looks very hairy).
I guess both are original Indonesian/Malaysian fruit, because they are still called as mentioned in Indonesia/Malaysia, even in Vietnam.
no we dont call it with those name in vietnam, trúc just say the english name of them
Hushiization doneclaim
I though you just coming to reply a comment, but well yeah you commented by yourself

My 6yrs old boy: "mommy, what are you eating?"
Me: "rambutan"
Him: "what's that?"
Me: "it's a fruit, likes longan."
Him: "oh"
Me: "would you like to try one?"
Him:"no"
5minutes later
Him: "can I try that hairy ball thing?"
😂
Jade 1399 Uhhhh
in malaysian or indonesian language, the BAHASA MELAYU , rambut is hair.
Hang Nguyen rambut means hair

Wow! You just eaten the King and Queen of all fruits in one video! Great!
Wow love those fruit ❤️💯
Im Bangladeshi, I really love Jackfruit and when the season comes, I eat it every, single, day but my elder brother hates it.
And I've only once eaten dragon fruit, it's not that popular here.
We eat mangostein too, but our ones are whiter, and smaller, it's popular here as well
if you're from Bangladesh why tf your name is like that?
Can’t believe you went from 20k to 1.9 million I knew you’d get big. Premium content and editing thank you so much for the sharing your great adventure with us.
9.1 million now, so you were right.

We used to boil jackfruit seeds with salt and eat them. Yumyum!

Then have smelly farts like hell haha
Lyka Mae Capaque lol same. In Mexico, we eat em like giant beans. 😅✌🏾🇲🇽
In Indonesia we call that "Beton"..😁😁
LANGKAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Trung Nguyen same
Love this episode, especially in light of the recent NYT food article that called some of these delicious and beautiful fruit “laborious,” “disappointing,” and “looks like coronavirus.” Thank you for being so respectful and curious of the incredible fruity delights of SE Asia. I personally think these fruit make fruit in the US look like a complete snooze fest.
so you bash an article for making fun of fruit, then you go ahead and do the same. how hypocritical of you.
@@markekar6021 that's true tho
Durrian is my honest fav
And to me its by far the better few xmas present i can recieve
As a kid i can solo 3 to 5 durrians
First white man I've seen accomplish the Asian squat.

IDK lol u too🤔😇😇
Jackfruit is delish...my favourite after mango...I love it
i love eating durian soo much, thanks for coming to my country....
Durian has the texture of the fermented fruit because it it's fibers and how they connected together. It is sweet and has strong overripe fruity smell to it but it tastes great. People seem to over exaggerate the experience
9:45 ahhhhhhh so cuteeeee ahhhh my heart is oh my gaaaawd
the asian ecky sound 😂
I'm drooling over the Durian 😭
4 & 5 is my favorite ! Miss being home in Philippine’s Baguio ! Frekng covid !
jack fruit is also special in southern part of india , kerala , gods own country they say you must definetely go there
Bsdk Karnataka ka hey ho
@@akshithsd1669 hi bro
krishnadas thaivalappil it’s popular and a simple food in most of south india. I mean Kerala is good who says no. Am from the border of Kerala, but from another state, can speak and read Malayalam pretty well. But there is a limit to glorify, isn’t it. Kind of irritating. That too when the claim is not true. If you tell me Kerala health minister is handling corona very effectively, I will agree hands down. Make claims that are real, else people won’t believe when you actually speak the truth.
Machane
We have it in north too😆
I don’t know why I even watching this when I have all these fruits in my whole life. But it’s nice to see someone enjoying those for the 1st time
I freaking love mangosteen, but my all-time favorite is Durian. I really miss eating it every day when I lived in Thailand but now I live back in the United States where it’s very expensive or you can’t get it at all.
It's my favorite summer vegetable/ fruit. You can cook lot of things with raw jackfruit..

She is very cuteeeeeeee. 😍😍❤
You ate durian like a man that you are!
You are officially my best ever food reviewer!
here in Philippines we also eat unripe jackfruit, use it as veggie, cook in coconut milk and meat... and we also boil the seeds ang eat it like nuts..
Same as Indonesia
Same in india. My ajji(grandma) used to talk of that dish. We make a curry out of unripe jackfruit with a tamarind a chilli gravy. It is supposed to taste like chicken when cooked right. A cheat for vegetarians
Same in India ..it looks like meat when cooked😆
Best channel ever!
Beautiful video
Tip guys. The number of seed in Mangosteen can be know on the bottom of it. Just count the small leaf like button and it will be the same inside!
Anderson Tan oh really? Now I know. Thanks
Jackfruit is one of my favorite.
Rewatching this gem. God the jokes on this video are too good. Keep it up sonny side.
