- This race was created in a moment when triathlon was booming worldwide. More and more races were showing up like mushrooms after the rain but there was a group of people trying to maintain the sport pure, true and full of positive principles. It was thanks to those people that PATAGONMAN and other extreme triathlon races were born.
PATAGONMAN was created with the support of Norseman. Norseman started in 2003 and grew fast enough to be considered today one of the most important triathlon on Earth and ended up developing a whole new category of races, the Xtri or Extreme Triathlon Races. In order to secure a great standard for this races Norseman, Swissman and Celtman created the Xtri World Tour of which PATAGONMAN is proud to have been invited to be part of.
This race is about maintaining the sport pure, bringing triathlon back to its roots and challenging the human body to its limits in a constant connection with nature.
Goosebumps to see this documentary 6 weeks after reaching the finish line in Puerto Ibanez. I'm still looking at the race photo's on a daily basis. What a passion, dedication and love for this this amazing sport you demonstrated. By far the best triathlon event in the World. Thanks so much for the great work, perseverance and to follow your dreams!!
Ignacio and Orlando, you are true heroes for your courage and perseverance to create this fantastic race, thank you for all you did to try make it happen this year! I look forward to visiting your wonderful country and racing next year. I have always dreamed of visiting Patagonia and I can think of no better excuse than to travel there to compete in your fantastic race.

Aunque 2020 y 2021 fue un bajón, no pierdo la fe de saltar y hacer sonar esa campana en el 2022. Es un sueño que tengo pendiente 💪🏾🇨🇷🇨🇱. Gracias por todo el esfuerzo para hacer de Patagonman una realidad. Un abrazo desde Costa Rica. Pura vida!!

Para nosotros es muy importante ponernos en el lugar de los atletas, porque somos atletas. Somos del mismo grupo. Ahora a pasar el bajón y levantar la cabeza una vez más para hacer realidad los sueños!
