  • In this video, I'll guide you through the step-by-step process of making a large oval bonsai pot using clay slabs. With our easy-to-follow instructions, you can make a big-sized bonsai pot that is perfect for your tree.
    Video Content:
    We will be using stoneware clay to create a durable and frostproof pot, as it is strong, durable, and holds up well in firing. Select a clay that suits your needs and preferences.
    Roll out the clay slabs to the right thickness, ensuring they are even and smooth. Use a rolling pin and guidelines to create a perfect slab.
    Using the clay slabs, shape the oval pot to the desired size and shape. You can use templates or create your own design, making sure to smooth out any bumps or rough spots.
    Activate the subtitles for the explanations (French, English), I give explanations that can help beginners how to make bonsai pots.

      Thank you, many people are also intrigued by the cross shape. The first recess is to hide the wire, the second perpendicular is to pass the tool to cut the wire when repotting.

    Bonjour tout d’abord, tu offres de très belle vidéo, et partages un beau savoir faire, merci. Je voudrais savoir si on peut utiliser de l’argile au séchage libre ou si l’on doit utiliser obligatoirement du grès qui doit être cuit ? Merci d’avance

    • @Greg-ceramics
      @Greg-ceramics  Před rokem +1

      Merci. Il faut obligatoirement du grès pour que ça tienne à l'extérieur et au gel. Même la faience (l'argile qu'on utilise pour faire de la vaisselle) qui cuit à moins haute température n'est pas utilisé pour l'extérieur car c'est gélif. L'argile auto-durcissante est juste suffisante pour faire des objets de déco qui restent en intérieur, et ça reste très fragile.

      Start with small pots, without skipping steps.
      For firing, there are often potters, equipment suppliers, or pottery clubs who rent their kilns. You have to look at the classified ads. ;)
