    I recently purchased three fish from MC…about a month ago. Two separate shipments, two weeks apart. Everything went great, fish arrived healthy and eating, couldn’t have been happier! Worth the extra money

    Elliot from Marine Collectors is the best. This guy is legit fish guy and loves what he does. I’ve sent him multiple messages and questions and always very helpful. 🎉🎉

    50:24, conversely, I’m constantly amazed by people’s willingness to think I’m a big prick for valuing the puppy and fish equally, when they’re the one with a deficient evaluation.

    Ryan you should design and sell your own isolation boxes. Marc from Meelev's Reef would probably manufacture them for you

    I find it's worth adding aggressive fish last if possible. If already in the tank, remove to a holding tank or use an isolation box. Rearranging the aquascape and adding a mirror to one of the tank sides also helps

    I have a 32 gal. tank and I just added a Bubble Tip but I also added a Diamondback Goby. I don't think having him floating at the top of the tank near the lights with no sand would be a good idea. I have about 1+ inch sandbed and he is tearing up the sand bed (as expected) but looks happy and no one else is bothering him. So I think you can have times when an isolation tank isn't a good fit.

    Very helpful info. I’m upgrading my tank and because of that I’ll be able to keep lots more fish. Many more quarantine cycles are in my future.

    Great advice, it was funny first time I fed clam on 1/2 shell to my pack of tangs. They didn’t know what to do until my Angels spotted it. A few clams later and my Angel gets the bum-rush by tangs when I drop one in. Sometimes it hits the bottom face down and the shrimp and Angels have to retrieve it/flip over for tangs.

    Egg crate isolation box attached with an old Mag cleaner or old (or new) magnet from a wave maker or powerhead… You could just make egg crate to hang on your tank…. You don’t need acrylic or electrical tape…

    Question doesn’t prime neutralize ammonia why don’t they put that in there when they open the bag?

    • @saucytabasco
      @saucytabasco Před 2 měsíci

      You can but you have to be careful because prime can have a toxic effect if combined with certain medications such as cuprimine. You never really know whats in the shippers water

    Is it a bad idea to feed your fish clams on a half shell if you want Tridacna in the tank? I would assume so, but would be interesting to hear others' experiences.

    @garlic anti parasitic ideas. Get the intestinal tract shedding out whatever is in there from wherever it was long enough to get it settled and fed.

    26:21 or they don’t understand themselves. If you’re one to skip a feeding or whatever. It’s denial to buy the anthias, etc. A good fish seller can ask like, three questions, and more or less know who you are, and make good recommendations.
